In this interview, we linked up with hip hop CZcamsr & Twitch streamer, Bobbalam. You might have seen Bobbalam’s videos where he reports on rap / hip hop, especially on rappers like Playboi Carti, Lil Uzi Vert, Sofaygo, Baby Santana, Yung Fazo, Summers, autumn, Ken Carson + more. He commentates on mainstream and also underground hip hop. We wanted to ask him about his come up, where apparently he started off by running a popular instagram meme/rap page called Clouty Skies, which then turned into him editing for other CZcamsrs, which then lead him to managing an artist, where he realized he wanted to go full time on CZcams. Fast forward to today, he does a majority of his content on Twitch. We asked him about the video he made on Kid Laroi, having beef with certain rappers and then clearing it up such Ken Carson, Carti’s team, Lil Uzi Vert + more. He talks about his beef with SpaceghostPurp and having Playboi Carti’s son, Onyx, mentioned in it. Bobbalam also talks about the down sides of being a content creator, and how he feels burnt out at times and wants to quit youtube. This interview was shot during KTO’s trip to Rolling Loud Miami 2021. Kids Take Over is based in Vancouver, Canada.

Really cool interview, one smart move was doubling down on the Uzi/Carti and filling that whole lane of these up and coming rappers with die hard fanbases that a lot of people (including me) are not covering or paying attention to. Definitely has the entertainment level/personality to be a big streamer that is for certain, also appreciate the shoutout.

I hope Bob transitiones into something like a "Underground No Jumper". When he makes videos with these artists, whether it is playing basketball or interviewing them, he just seems so much more genuine and it feels like he really enjoys it. And I think this is a niche he can perfectly fill!

Unexpected but appreciated. I feel like so many youtubers don't understand the great things of livestreaming. You get to guage who your community is, feel more connected, and also get that instant feedback. A lot of new streamers also don't approach it right by not paying much attention to the chat - the chat is the heart of streaming and they're the reason it's great. When I'm talking about the chat, I'm not talking about Akademik's or Adin Ross' chats. When you're at 20k+ viewers, chat becomes a hivemind but when you're small enough to be able to read messages that's when it's crazy undervalued.
