Welcome back to TheDriveGuyde where I have the keys to 2019 Volvo XC90 T8 eAWD R-Design. The T8 models are Volvo's Twin Engine plug-in hybrid vehicles. They feature the supercharged and turbocharged 4-cylinder engine with two electric motors. The XC90 is a mid-size SUV with 7 seats, lots of tech and a gorgeous interior. But can it be a segment leader?
Max Landi from The Drive Guyde finds out!

Thanks for watching this review! Just wanted to note I accidentally call the XC90 a full size SUV where it is a midsize SUV. Apologies! - Max
It’s my dream car from the moment Volvo did the reviled hopefully I will be able to afford it in the very near future.. thanks for the great review!!!
Another great review and as always honest and detailed.
This is considerably faster than the T6. It does 0-60 in 5 seconds with the Polestar tune and when passing on the hwy it is a ton of fun. I think it is appealing for the fact you can have a fast and luxurious SUV while also getting 27 combined MPG and 32 on the highway. It is like having your cake and...well you know :)
All about that Volvo life😍😍
Good review, he just needs to figure out the difference between and Engine and a Motor :-)
I am not sure if I am understanding that this Volvo is more efficient on both gas and electric Over the prius which for me would be a overwhelming interest because I love the Prius but there's so much about it that I hate 2
Mobil kahayang urang. Resep jasa.
I love this car but I think the T6 with the polestar option is a better choice. The T8 has too many compromises. In particular that big heavy battery, small fuel tank, odd break feel, no front fog lights and, again, that big heavy battery. As far as expensive electrified cars go I’ll wait for dry cell batteries or hydrogen fuel cells.
The fuel tank was enlarged for the 2019 model year and the brake feel fixed for 2020.
Turbocharged and supercharged and electrified. What can possibly go wrong? 😈😹🤣🙀
Do you have any response to the question I had asked?
Prius AWDe has fuel rating of 4.5/4.7/4.9 and the XC90 has 9.8/8.7/9.3.
As a plug-in hybrid, the Volvo and Prius Prime will have a greater ‘electric only’ range. But if we’re just talking about having a smaller fuel bill, the fwd Prius will be the best out of the Volvo and the Prius prime
@@maxlandireviews thank u, really appreciated you
Does this have a recharge feature similar to 2022 plug in hybrid?
That seems expensive for a plug-in hybrid. Don't get get me wrong. I'm not knocking the car or the tech, just the price.
That's Tesla money right there. I guess with the gas you're going to is longer distance out of it.
