Does anyone have any recommendations that are similar to this piece? I always find myself coming back to this video. The solos, the passion, the emotion, it's just great.
ts significant to me that they may have first met when Carla was working at the -hillcrest (?) when Ornette C. brought an early band in- well, a Paul Bley gig too-- now that makes sense
RIP Carla, you'll stay in our hearts😪
RIP Charlie, your playing and music will always live on
It s a frisell tune
The Liberation Orchestra was perhaps the best ensemble assembled to play music of any venue
Oo-la-la! Thank you! This is jazz at its best!!! Frissell's composition moderated by Bley, Haden and company - genius! Charley, we miss you!
Tony Malaby! ❤
Intensiteit, beleving, gevoel, ballen, samen iets creëren, improviseren...godverdomme...wat is dit fantastisch. Dit is MUZIEK !!!!
Tony Malaby's tone is fucking incredible
Un grand nom du jazz, et de la musique en général, s'est éteint. Mais nous avons la chance de pouvoir l'écouter grâce aux nombreux enregistrements!
Tony and Cheeky absolutely destroy this! Incredible playing.
yes Riley woo
Just revisited this, bloody hell, pinned to the wall!
Probably my favorite song of all time...
Super!!! A great Malaby solo!!!
We will miss you Charlie!
Terrific stuff!
perfectly well judged tenor solo -really usibg Carla's changes. Beautiful
Thanks for sharing. Carla is the greatest!
Tremendo el solo de Malaby PARFAVARR
fua Malaby te amo man
Хейден -один из самых недооцененных музыкантов. Великолепный мелодист (Сандино,Пассионария и пр.) Его оркестр-лучший даже на сегодня.
Carla Bley 🙏❤ r.i.p.
Rest in power Carla
What a beautiful thing

Somebody stop that bass player, is out of tune, out of tempo and out of his mind. In fact it should listen much superior with sax playing solo.
maybe you should audition to the Orchestra and show the world how a bass line is all about. Im eager to hear you. Really.
errtrainer No, I'm not bass player, but I can hear that in this piece the bass is the weakest part.
Unenlightened people are usually the ones who whine most. You clearly have no ears.
Lol...an out of tune bass player?! I don't think I would refer to Charlie Haden as an out of tune bassist.
Doesn't sound out of tune to me. Charlie Haden is by far one of the most in tune bassists of all time.
