I want to share this band with somebody but nobody in my life listens to the same type of music that I do so I'm alone in this experience. Much love to you all. Thank you for your excellent taste in music and for existing. 💕
I'm here! I like it and understand what you mean. They think it's boring -- I find it fascinating and heart-expanding! Peace 🙂
J, look up The Waterboys, it's an Irish band from the 80's. The band here had to have been influenced by them! :)
A lot of us fans feel this way, its why we spend so long here haha
J, couldn't have said it better. Only us guys born in the 60s know what music truly is and how it should be.
I
Doo so much hhhh
Mel
Ok, (I am almost 69, and just heard this band for 1st time tonight on Austin City Limits). Their sound woke me out of a sleep and inspired me to look up who this was. So sorry I’ve missed 13 years of brilliant indie rock, but happy to be enthusiastically on the bus now. This album is thrillingly good.
Me too....in the old category, that is, 68. And I love these guys too! Saw them last yr. Nice show. I can't rave about their live show b/c I'm a huge Queen fan (also late to discover them - a few yrs back) so, Freddie BLEW ME AWAY & I realized the diff between entertainment and a show. Freddie was the God of entertainment! Best performer Ever!
But I do love TWOD & would see them again, just b/c of their music. Love this song! Also, Buenos Aires Beach (the Bonnaroo version!), Holding On, and Baby Missiles are great!
Yup me too. Gladly back on the bus! And damn seems to be one hell of a long wait
@Geoffery Goggins...idiot.
@Robert Clarke....Thank you for saying what I was just thinking - as soon as I saw his moronic comment. Just didn't think he'd be able to read it. What a jerk!
I am 52 and just discovered this band too :) I'm so happy that I get to see them live on December 8th. And happy for you too that you found them :)
I don't think we're talking enough about how sad this video is. I am devastated.
The whole album is a masterpiece from beginning to end.
The whole.
Yeah, another fucking great piece of "The Drugs"
Album of the year
TheKastorian are they new??i like their music.
No this is their 4th album, 1st on a Major Label. C'mon Dominguez
I think we all discover music in our own time. Sometimes right when we most need it. This band, specifically, this album was one of the moments just recently. Approaching 40 & experiencing what feels like an existential crisis, A Deeper Understanding was incredibly profound & beautiful. There are songs like In Chain and Strangest Thing that somehow fill a void in your soul perhaps you didn’t know you had. This album is an absolute masterpiece of music captured. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, I’m forever grateful. -Gio
I AM OKAY WITH THIS!
So bruce springsteen, dire straits and a lot of 80's vibes combined = The War On Drugs. Just amazing
João Neves Silva Farmhouse truly spoken.
et dans "Pain" et Under The Pressure " il y a un peu du Bob Dylan je trouve
Some Bryan Adams in there too
Plus a bit of Bob Dylan.
Voice young Bryan adams ..!!
u guys are from heaven
The War On Drugs is a breath of fresh air in an era of music that I have trouble finding comfort in.
I discovered TWOD in 2021, can't stop listening since
Best band on earth
Love these guys
Thank you Sophia for helping me discover this beautiful song!! 💙
Who is she
Perfect. All of it
How many of us love and enjoy listening this type of music?
👇🏼
The girl in this video has my sympathies - I'm hopeless at keeping plants alive too.
Seriously, though, this song is *amazing* and so is the video.
a girl so beautiful and who also cares for the planet
Sophia and The War On Drugs??? What can be better? literally my favourite group and my crush
The shoot at 4:16 is soo beautiful and well made, the way she removes the leaves from the back of that kind creature I interpret that as she's accepting the hard truth that everything's changing all the time, people coming and going away suddenly and dying as well. Life is not as vast and boundless as you may think. There is sadness along the way but it is really part of the journey. LOVE this band.
I don't know you, but, i love you. thanks for the video.
literally magic music
Please......keep making music. I needed this so much.
This song touches the deepest emotional buttons, feel like a child again, discovering all the new emotions for the first time. This albums is a masterpiece and Lost in the Dream probably the album of the decade. This group deserves much more.
Sophia dancing > everything else
I’m not cool enough to get the deeper meaning of this video but I liked it anyway.
That's right! Not everything has to make sense, just enjoy the ride!
Jesus Christ music can do in 6 minutes what no drug on earth can do. Thank fuck I found this. I can now face Monday 🙂
I want to meet Adam just to shake his hand, and say "thank you for making this masterpiece"
dude same
What a song, my god. Imagine being the person who created it. I'd feel like I never had to accomplish anything else. This might be the best song ever and I'm not exaggerating.
While i agree that this song is absolutely fantastic, i’m curious to your reasoning behind why you think this is the best song ever. Could you elaborate?
@@DynamicProductions. I appreciate your curiosity. I don't think I can put it into words haha. It's such a vibe. It's so intense and relentless and there's so much going on but at the same time it feels like it's still really holding back and could hit you 5 times harder if it wanted to. It feels like it's constantly keeping you near the edge of overexcitement.
Why can’t I like it twice. In all seriousness this is probably my favourite song of all time. It just exuded a sense of freedom and joy I’ve yet to capture anywhere else. This song and by extension the band has greatly helped me get through quarantine.
Totaly agree !
Omg mine too 😭
I love this band. They’ve got me through grief, sadness, and have made me feel hope and happiness. ❤
This is a perfect song
So glad to see the Cetelem dude on a War on Drugs video
Best album of 2017... smack the thumbs up
smackt
Discovered Future Islands in last 3 years - also epic!
Sophia is such an angel. She is soooo pretty and talented. Her work will always be appreciated. She will always be amazing.
I think this is my favourite song of all time, and I'm 54 !! An absolute masterpiece
Mine too.
I feel this. I have been having this exact thought for one year now and I guess it’s just the way it is.
No other song presse all the buttons like this one.
I can’t get enough of it.
One of my greatest musical experience was listening to this song at a festival during a thunderstorm, soaking wet
Lotta great songs. Pain is probably my favorite. I was so into the song, watching the video I didn't realize it was filmed in black and white until about half way through. Awesome!
Under The Pressure video fimed at Austin City Limits Is a must see. The saxaphone will adrenalize you! Wow.
Vengo a recordar este hermoso tema a pocos días de terminar el año 2023. 🥀
This band are brilliant. I'm a huge Dire Straits fan and I can see the musical progression very similar. Great band.
cute metaphor on friendship and the brevity of life (I was nicely surprised to see Sophia Lillis in the video)
Sophia if your reading this my brother says he love you and he hope that no one steal you from him
Waking up to this?! Thank you God
Me and a few mates did a California road trip in 2017, this album is the soundtrack to that trip. Masterpiece.
Must have been the best roadtrip ever!
@@ManMachinist So good man! San Fran, Yosemite, Big Sur, Santa Barbara, LA, then Death Valley through to Vegas 😭 wanna do it all again.

I took it as the war but ur on drugs
This song grows on you...like a plant. Just don't sleep on it.
Feels like the 80s 😍❤️
Seeing Sophia dancing is very cute also the little dinosaur tattoo on her right hand is adorable.
If we smoke plants to get hi
Does that mean plants get hi smoking people?🤔😮🤤
2:30 When someone accepts you as you are and without fear. Amazing
Where are my Sophia fans at???😍😍😍😍😍😍💗💗💗💗❤❤❤❤❤❤
Yes

Right here
Right here
Here💖
I don't understand how there's not at least one whole generation madly in love with Sophia Lillis.
who is she
Magic song
2017 was the best year of the last decade. There were good songs!
All of their music gives me the chills. Every time I listen.
The band name has always stuck with me. Makes me feel that they were once down and depressed but instead of resorting to drugs, they resorted to song writing. In a way, they have declared a 'War on Drugs' and the weapon of their choice is nothing but their music. Great band. One of the best this decade.
I really don’t think this is far off! Like.. it’s that zen. There is nothing, joyfully, to find. It is just life. No ego or attachments. Just you, whatever that is, something bigger waiting on the other side... like a weird fuggly plant man
who has risen from within
I love seeing Sophia Lillis!
A Deeper Understanding is the best album I’ve heard in a long time. I ❤️ it.
Yes it is
I LOVE THE MV SO MUCH AND THE FACT THAT IT'S SOPHIA MAKES IT SO MUCH BETTER
War on Drugs & Sophia Lillis!
This is a tune, the record is phenomenal and they definitely deserved the Grammy.

For a short time that tree monster was our everything lol
It's not a Monster!!!
He's our friend and we don't treat him good. 🏢🏗🌇🏭🏪😓🌱😟🏭🏬🏰🌆🌃⚔🚬💊🗑💰
Cos you have a soul
I'm 65 years old & this band plays my music! Awesome & I thought real music was dead.
Classic rock for 21st century... thank f*ck!
Superb! Adam so wants to be Bob Dylan. But he drives beyond that. Awesome!
That actress is such a Beautiful Fairy Angel.... ❤💕❤💕❤💕
With Sophia Lillis, everything is better. ♥
if you can not play this song 30 times a day, you're better than me. I can't stop playing it
Heard these guys on radio the other day. Luckily the DJ said the name of the band.
SOPHIA SMASHED THIS!!!!
I have been listening to thousands of albums in my life and I am pretty sure that this is my favorite song of them all.
Still listening in 2019 anybody? This band just brings good vibes and a pleasure to hear all their new music. They deserve much more recognition than they've gotten throughout the years.
Good music....love it

This theme sounds so full of freedom and rejoicing for it. I think you feel like a child again, when you throw yourself with your soul so pure of innocence into the adventure of life. A true sensory journey to the depths of those sensations lived. For my part, I will not stop listening to it, even as an old man to remember how those times were. To enjoy again and again this masterpiece :D
I used to live where the first half of the video was filmed. It was on Soledad Canyon Rd in Acton CA.
@@jamesmitchell6017 Acton Market??
Sophia lillis ❤❤❤❤❤
and then The War on Drugs came to keep putting music into my life ...
They are one of the best bands ever. Full stop.
A great tune. A modern Dylanesque sounding song.
YAAASSS SOPHIAA ❤
Guitar, guitar, guitar
I just listen The war on drugs for the first time one month ago, and i'm fascinated with the sensations that its music produces on my whole body.
Yes! What is this? I like it. Makes me happy & love-y! Good thing for the world!
I love this I love Beverly Marsh 😍
yes yes and yes
I just love the sound...Almost sounds like Bryan Adams, Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, and Christopher Cross in one..Just love it
La primera vez que escuche esta cancion pense que era Bryan Adams

Holy shit this is so good. A Deeper Understanding is the first album I've heard by this group and I honestly feel robbed that I didn't find them earlier
It doesn't matter what Sophia is in. We will all be happy with what ever she does. She is THAT lovable
Sophia is soooo cute aw💕❤️💛✨
Favourite song on the album.
Can you feel empathy for a tree-man that dies because it's autumn? Yup.
TeMaZo!!!!
When I listen to this so do my neighbours!🏴
