Holy shit, I love Verso so much.
Aluta continuavocado!
That dude chibber killed it. At least the first 20 min
It got real quiet at the 37:25 mark. Loved the part that I could hear though. Thank you for a sane discussion on fascism. Hard to find today.
WHY IS NO ONE CHUCKLING AT AMBERS ADORABLE ANECDOTES AND JOKES!! 🥺
Give these people a better mic and a time machine to redo this audio!
Wow, this moderator does not want to be there. Their kind of disinterested, whatever approach is so old, boring and utterly unnecessary. If you don't want to be there, don't! Plus, frankly, I came here to hear the main speakers not the moderator plugging their own writing and interventions
1:02 :00 she's checking her phone for sooo long.
hey you turn your mic up a little, i cant hear you :P
For the far right the use of the term "liberal" for them is short for "democracy". The economic use of the word even in the term neoliberal doesn't register. It's a very post modern use of language by them. Yes, there are many flavors of authoritarianism here in the US but the language is pretty much the same. When a baptist preacher is talking about liberalism, the John Birch Society or Peter Thiel is talking about liberalism, it is about democracy.
He actually is, though. Fascism as a form evolves and changes continuously. So of course it wouldn't look like it did yesterday. Apparently im years late but uh, actions he has taken since then have pretty much proven that he is.
I love you Amber 😍😍😍😍

When a cat kills a mouse, it makes no difference to the mouse what the cat's motivation is. You won't be questioning whether someone is fascist when their boot is stomping your head.
But it makes sense to understand what the motivations are in order to structure a response, you wouldn’t respond to a liberal and fascist boot similarly for example. Until you understand an opposition how can one structure a response to it?
great vid
Upon reevaluation, you're correct. Deleted comment.
Well this one hasn't aged well....
The title of this video aged poorly.
I disagree. He's still a pseudo-populist sort of Napoleonic figure. He has an element of his base who are definitely fascists, though. DeSantis scares me a lot more though.
Sound defeated me
Hmm. This did not age well.

I got half way though this before it became very clear that the who project of attempting to categorize the current moment into historical boxes is pointless. Who cares if 'Fascism' is what we call our current politics or not? Does it change anything?! At all?
What we label today doesn't necessarily change today. However if we're trying to make a better tomorrow, a strategy will need to be formulated and carried out. The more accurate the better. I may have chest pains that worry me. One friend says it's my lungs, another my heart, ribs, pulled muscle, nerve problem originating from my back...
A solution. May require I narrow down the symptoms I suffer to heal the cause.
It does though. If more people understood that the current COVID policies in places like the US, France, Australia, etc. were fascistic in nature, perhaps they would resist being overtaken by these restricting legislations. Instead you're called a conspiracist if you question someone like Fauci or the vaccine mandates.
@@MB-yl9hm what lmao
I agree that fascism must be defined as right wing. But I wonder, if this talk had taken place four years later, if they would have discussed a new left wing form of fascism and how it differs ideologically.
While they are at it they could also discuss anarchobidenism or imperialist pacifism too?
It is shamefulness in America
Trump is a con man, a televangelist. He cares about himself. That’s it.
Holy shit, all the ‘uh, uh, uh...’ is annoying!!!
Anyone who questions whether Trump is a fascist does not understand Orwell.
Orwell is a fiction writer. Fascism is not fiction.
There are numerous non fiction books written by Orwell as well as series of collected essays. He wasn't just a fiction writer by any means.
Just like this guy said, trump most definitely doesn't know or even care about political power in any sense of what "fascism" is. He's just a celebrity and business man who simply loves attention and fame. Thinking that trump is a conspiring fascist in anyway is just as much a conspiracy theory as the qanons who think Hollywood eats babies
And where do you position Biden?
@@patricks1333 But..its still a Word. An F word.
But Karlism is a severe decadent fallacy that always leads to fascism. national socialism emerged because of das kapital.
~~ Nat Socialists weren't selling themselves to the bourgeoisie, never mind aristocracy or plutocrats. They were socialists, for the volk. It arose from the same demotic urge that Karl fulminated from - failed revolutions of 1848, and the Jacobism which inspired it.
they were so for the volk that they started the biggest invasion in history which got millions of their own countrymen killed, let alone all milloins of the slavs
@@koschmx Thanks for the other Karl.
Both of these guys really seem to be splitting hairs.
