05 Honda Odyssey Power Sliding Door Reset

- In this video I'll show you how to reset your Power Sliding doors on your 05 Honda Odyssey. The particular Odyssey featured in this video is a Touring model. I believe the EX and LX use the same method, but don't quote me on this.
Note: The Power Sliding doors may have stoped working due to a problem with the sliding doors such as an obstruction, excessive resistance to movement ect. Perceived problems could set a trouble code in the module responsible for controlling the sliding doors. I believe the module in turn shuts down the Sliding doors. Pulling this fuse, I believe, erases any trouble codes in this module thus allowing the Power Sliding doors to operate again. (That's my educated "theory" if you will. I know for sure that this procedure works, however.) - Auta a dopravní prostředky
I bought my 2007 Odyssey used. The doors weren't working, but I wasn't worried about it, because our previous van didn't have power doors. The doors still open manually, so whatever. But I found this video and thought I'd give it a shot. It turns out there was NO FUSE in slot 7. It was in slot 8 by mistake. So, I put it back and VOILA! The power doors work. AND the remotes, which weren't working before either, are now working as well. THANK YOU!
Now that's cool!
I can't thank you enough. I brought a sliding door motor and about to disassemble the door panel. By chance I stumbled upon your video and tried my luck it worked like a charm. Not just money it saved a lot of time and effort.
God bless you for your help 🙏
2023 and this video is still helping people! Thank you!!
You ate my hero❤
@kyuchong4883 sorry I was really hungry!
Thank you so much for video, you are still saving Odysseys everywhere.
Thank you for making this video! This quick, easy fix saved me an expensive trip to the mechanic!
Went through fuse in front, fuse on side, who would have thought to pull back up fuse. You are now immortalized in my book. Thanks!!!
I checked the fuse they are good j
@@patdudney1275 Since this has happened to my 2 thousandand 10 Odyssey and it almost always seems to happen after the rain which I have found out there is a drain from the from the skylight which can get clogged in lake water after it drive for one day I then disconnect the battery and Reconnect after 5 minutes and the door seems to work again good luck
You honestly deserve ever single one of those likes on this video, I love you man
Thanks! Just repaired my door. You saved me big $$$. 2010 model : I didn't need to enter the radio code
I have a 2011 and the number 7 fuse is not labeled back up... not sure what to do with this.
Seriously thank you for this. I had a meltdown this morning because the doors wouldn’t open when I was dropping my kiddos off. This took me less than 3 minutes to do and I genuinely appreciate this video more than I can say. Thank you thank you THANK YOU
I had a trashed roller assembly which fixed the first half of my problem. It worked great in manual, but when closing it would abort right as the door started to pull in every time in the exact same place. After resetting the #7 fuse per your video, the door works like a charm. Thank you!
Great
I have been having this exact issue in my 08. I'm going to try this tomorrow, I really hope it works.
I only had one sliding door that wasn't working. I checked the fuse for the sliding door located in the fuse box under the hood and it was in tact. I tried this as a last ditch effort and it Worked! 👍
This helped us out today. Thanks man. Hope you have a blessed day.
Thanks so much. Just helped me fix my 2007 van!
Strangely it worked like a charm. One of the doors was not working, but was OK. I was sure it was something serious, plus didn't believe the video because what in the world does "back up" fuse has to do with the doors. I already tried the power door fuses in the primary fuse box, it didn't help. But I did try fuse # 7 and it worked. THank you
!
Thanks for taking the time to make the video. You saved the day!
Fixed my issue Thanks for everything you do.
Amazed , didn’t think this was going to do the trick but it did 👍👍
Awesome, thanks! Worked like a charm on my 2006 EX L.
U saved my life man thank u for showing to solve the problem ✌.
This worked on my 03, didn't need to enter the code. THANK YOU!
Yep. Good job!
This worked for my 2006 Honda Odyssey. Thank you so much!
Awesome.... Thank you 100000 ... This worked n saved me a whole lot trouble and money... God bless you brother.
Excellent video. Barbour gets right to the point. Worked fine on my 2009 EX.
MM
Thanks! This fixed our 2006 EX model.
If i could like this video a million times, i would. You are the man!
Thanks a bunch. I hope it holds.
Thank you very much! That worked great in my 2006. Perfect fix and so easy.
Glad it worked.
Excellent video, worked like a charm for my 2005.
Saved me bunch of time and money for a simple fix. It worked for my 2006 Odyssey. Thank you.
Did you have your original radio?
@@quannamama1844 yes. It was the original radio the code is written on the owners manual. Unfortunately it was a temporary fix, eventually I had to get the door repaired.
This worked perfectly. I did not need to enter the code for my radio. Thank you!
Cool
Thank you. Worked like magic. 2005 EX-L. Took me total of 5 mins.
Excellent!
Just did this and it worked. Thank you so much for the video.
Worked on my 06, thank you very much for this video.
I have a 2014 Odyssey.. door didn't work after battery went dead ... Pulled out no. 7 fuse .. 20A .. says Door Main .. waited 10 sec ... Worked ! Thanks !
Thanks so much!! Worked on our ‘08 Odyssey when both doors stopped working. Didn’t mess up the radio either!
Awesome!
Exactly what I needed. Thank you
Thanks a lot !!! It is working for now, and I did not have to enter any code on my 2005 EX-L.
Fixed the automatic door in my 06 non-touring odyssey with this video. Thank you!
Your welcome.
BarboursAutoHelp all power windows in my odyssey have stopped working except the driver window. Flipping the switch for the other windows, you can hear the click from each window as it tries to activate. But the window will not lower. Neither from driver door switch, nor the other switches. Driver window and switch works fine though. This just started happening. Could it be because of something I did to the fuses while fixing the sliding door issue? Would resetting more fuses possibly fix the power windows?
I'm really not sure why you're having this problem. Its the first time I have heard of this happening. Was more than just the one fuse pulled out when you reset the sliding doors?
@@BarboursAutoHelp I didn't think I had touched any fuses except the door fuse, the fifth from the end. But maybe I just didn't notice? I found some threads on the internet describing the problem, like this one www.odyclub.com/threads/all-power-windows-but-the-drivers-side-front-window-stopped-working.294337/. Some of the answers there have ideas about which fuses to mess around with, but mostly sounds like you have to replace the master switch. But it seems weird to me that I'm having this issue just as I messed with the fuses for the sliding door. Just a coincidence, perhaps?
This was awesome, my doors work again!! Thank you.
So glad!
Thanks for this! Didn't need to reenter the security code but is solve the door problem. Took my 2005 EX in for a smog check (in California) and something they did caused the clock to flash and stopped the driver side door from opening or closing unless I did it manually. The smog shop doesn't disconnect anything, but they do say they plug a reader into the ODB port. I've done the same with a Blue Driver scanner without causing problems but can't think of anything else.
Thanks so much! It works (for now)! I didn't enter a code on my 2007EX.
Grate instructional video, will try to do this hopefully this will fix my drivers side sliding door that does not want to work, thank you.
Hope it works.
This was quite a helpful video. I tried the solution and it worked. Hopefully won't have thsi door issue again. Will see!.
Hopefully not. Let us know.
Worked for me, thanks so much!
fixed the door issue on my 2005 odyssey. Thank you.
Very glad.
Worked perfectly. Thank you!
Like a boss!!!! Thank you Sir!!
Thanks a million. Daughter's odd e sea doors quit working after .. jerk tried to break in. You fixed it. I got credit 😂
Thank you very much for this helpful video you saved me a lot of money
Thank you so much, took the van to the shop and thay told me that the motor to the slider had to be replaced. ( $$$$$$$) I was at my wits end, till I saw this video NOW ITS ALL FIXED !!!! THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH
It’s possible you still need those items. I’d say if it acts up again take it back to them. Binding can cause this symptom
Works on my 2005 Odyssey thank you
Worked the first time - thank you!
Hope it holds.
Thank You, Worked perfectly
Thank you! Both my sliding doors were not working properly and it was driving me insane for months. I called to get an estimate for repair and it was gonna cost over $1k! I tried this and it worked on my 2005 Odyssey EX! Thanks!!!
Hopefully it holds. If not it's a good temporary fix.
Guys mine it’s same my passenger sliding door works and then stops I change the radio and I don’t know how to put the code to reset the power sliding door now?
Worked! Thank you very much!
Thanks, this fixed my doors and strangely I didn't have to put in the radio code. It also seemed to fix another problem where my horn alarm was going off. I had let my battery run down over night and when I recharged it all the problems started.
Good deal!
This video made my day. Thank you! Saved me 💵!
Glad it helped!
UPDATE. I did this to fix my left side sliding door and it worked, BUT, then the left side stopped working. After some cussing and some experimenting I found that BOTH sliding doors must be SHUT before you do the reset. ALSO- after pulling the #7 fuse and leaving it out for 10 mississippi’s around 4-5 times-my radio still did not go into theft mode or need the code entered. Btw THANK YOU to the video creator!!! You saved me a bunch of headaches. Written 2/15/24
Ps I also removed/waited/replaced the 40a under the hood and it didn’t do anything. The doors both closed before removing #7 was the ticket. 2006 Touring model btw
I can’t get one if the doors closed. This fuse fix didn’t work. I replaced the rollers and reset the power system, also didn’t work. I am currently try to find a video on replacing the printed circuit board. 2012 touring rollers are hard to find! Had to pay $400 for passenger side and it didn’t fix the problem.
Thank you so much! Mine was beeping the entire time I would drive!
You the man! Thanks!
Thanks genius it help me very much. Make more honda tricks best for your family
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 now I see easy thank you 🙏🏻
Thanks for a clear concise video. I solved my version of the problem via a similar route on a 2010 model Honda O.
This may help others who are struggling.
My newly repaired rollers on the driver side was working perfectly and I was preparing to repair the rollers on the passenger side. Suddenly my passenger side door would not open with the button, door handle or some tugging on the door to open manually. I tried the fuse trick as described but no luck. I then took the battery terminals off and let the enire car sit for 20 minutes. Upon re-connecting the battery both doors which were now open, would not respond to the buttons. I was going the wrong way. Breaking more than I was fixing... I ended up closing each door manually and am happy to report both doors work perfectly now. Soon I will have the new rollers installed in the passenger door and finally be good as new. The idea of letting the onboard computer clear a trouble code by pulling power was definately the right solution. Just make sure if the doors have been left open, they may need to be manually closed before the computer will allow the buttons to work as expected. For those that haven't discovered the most common failure point on these doors, a shout out to Eric the car guy as he shows you the easy way to repair the door slide rollers at this link: czcams.com/video/gwgL5Oo8rXw/video.html

just did this fixed it
Thank you
GOD BLESS
Glad it helped
It worked! Thanks!
Thank you, worked for me, thanks million.
Great
You are the best 👌 👍
Thank you, very helpful
Worked PERFECT ! WOW THANKS
Edit it .
Because it worked perfect for the first few times and then back to the same .
I only have ONE door that opens
Perfect . The other one is manual.
You may have an underlying cause of the inop door not operating correctly. Further diagnosis will be needed, by a technician, to find the underlying cause. I made mention of this in the description of the video. There could be several reasons it keeps failing. I don't have any videos on this at the time so I have to advise taking it to a tech to have it fixed.
I have the same problem... worked perfect for the first few times...
@@BarboursAutoHelp Thank you for the videos. I have used your procedure on getting yo two sliding doors to work. The second you put the fuse in the doors are freed up to use. But just as quick as you free them up they are back the same way they were. The minute the door locks are used the doors stop working. They want to work but just won't in my opinion it the automatic door locks. I'm looking for a video on how to reset the door locks or not work at all. . I'm hoping to find a video to help fix this problem once and for all..
Yea, you may have another problem causing the doors not to work properly. You may need a technician to take a look at that. Wish I could help more.
Trying it out!! Thanks
Thanks for your help
Your the man
Thank you sir
No problem
very nice it fix my sliding door light thank you
Thanks for letting us know! Good luck to you.
I have an 07 and this fixed my problem
I sure hope it holds. A lot of folks are saying that their problem returns soon after.
This did the trick. Thanks!
Awesome! I hope it holds.
Awsome ! Going to try this .
On her van . If it works , i will score with her tonight ! ;)
Thanks a lot .. thats worked perfectly....
Cool!
Awesome!!! It worked for me.
Ta daaaa!!
Thank you! Very helpful!!
So glad!
Thanks alot brother it fixed mine
Hopefully it holds. A lot of viewers have had to reset repeatedly.
Thanks broth. You save my day. 👍👍👍👍👍👍
Glad to help
It's work in my van odessey 2005...the door can slide after I tried like the intruction...thank you!!!!!
good video realy help me to fix my odyssey power doors, thanks
Thank you for letting me know.
I tried this and it worked for a few months. They I did it again and it lasted a few more months, now it will only work for a few hours before it stops working again. I took it into a technician who just happened to have an odyssey with the same issue, he has replaced all kinds of stuff on it to no avail. Dead end. I replaced my rollers which didn’t help. If you are reading this and end up finding a solution please come back to let the rest of us know your permanent fix.
This is awesome. Great clear details. I've used this before and it worked great but unfortunately, this last time, nothing. The doors no longer respond at all. Acting like they are turned off. Fuse is good.
Yea, that sounds pretty awesome.. lol. But on a serious note. It may be time to have a tech look at it. I hope it works out for you. Keep me posted on how it goes and let me know if you have any other questions.
Did you ever figure it out? Mine is the same...
@@kensimon4478 No, still not working.
@@ViperSharp i just bought a used 06 and both doors aren't responding at all. i've done the fuse reset but nothing. with mine the drivers side door doesn't close completely. the door warning on the dash shows. when i force it it stays there a bit but doesn't latch in place and after a few seconds comes back out lol... but i get absolutely no beeps on either door so i'm not sure where to start or go. if i find something i'll let you know..
viper found something for you.. but first you may have to check that your door sliding rollers are good. you may just have to replace the rollers because that is the real issue. and it's honestly a simple fix.
the sliding rollers replacement are cheap on ebay... less than $25 for a pair for both sides.
the instructions below worked for me. at least for one door. before then my doors were completely dead without any beeps. fuses all good.
my passenger door worked but got off the frame because the rollers are bad. actually there rollers were so worn they weren't even there! i ordered replacements today.
i couldn't find my issue anywhere and had no history of the doors/van because i just bought the car and the people i bought it from did not speak english. so i just made them an offer of $1,100 as-is and deal with my decisions. they didn't even tell me the doors did not work prior to getting there.
PSD reset procedure:
(1) Make sure main switch for doors is in OFF position. Remove following fuses one by one and leave it out for at least 30 second (I waited for minute).
Driver side fuse box (Fuse no. 7 (7.5A) - Back up)
Passenger side Fuse box (Fuse no. 7 (7.5A) - Instrument pannel)
Primary under the hood Fuse box (Fuse no. 7 (7.5A) - Back up)
Primary under the hood fuse box (Fuse no. 15 (40A) - Back up, Acc)
(2) Install all fuses in to original location. Make sure main switch for doors is in OFF positon and make sure the ignition swithc is in LOCK "0" position.
(3) Manually open the sliding doors fully. (Both)
(4) Turn on the ignition switch to ON "II" position while leaving both doors fully open.
(5) Turn on the main switch for power sliding doors on the dash board.
(6) Push and hold close side of the "Master Power door" switch (switch for L & R doors under main power switch on dash board) until door is fully closed. follow the same process for other slide door.
(7) Now you all set. perform the test run to open and close both doors using switch, handle and remote..
Thanks was very useful, Oddy EXL 2009...
Great to hear!
Thank you very very very much!
Thank you, thank you, thank you very blessed year for you and your family and friends and anybody that you help out thank you thank you thank you
No problem
Worked as shown on my 2011 except for the radio reset. I don’t have the GPS combo though. I pulled two 7.5 fuses that were next to each other.
works for me. thanks!
Yep
Wow, great video.
Thanks
@@BarboursAutoHelp both sliding doors quit responding to commands at the same moment, which makes me believe it is electrically related like a bad fuse. I am still on the hunt. Any comments will be appreciated.
Yes, it could be electrical. It could also be mechanical like a binding door. Don't have any videos on these problems yet.
It works thank you
Great!!
Gracias amigo👍
Thanks for save me money 😁
Was simple and easy! FYI not every model needs to have the radio reset. Ours did not.
Thanks for sharing
It worked. Why is it called a back up fuse and what does it control?
Will try it but I have an aftermarket radio to use with a better back up screen and camera. so I hope I can put in my code.
Hi, nice video. it fix sliding door problem. But when I turn off the engine, this problem comes back. So, I have done resetting by removing #7 fuse multiple times. Doors works good for some time but when I turn off the engine and turn on again then the sliding doors stop working. How to fix it permanently.
I have the same issue
Me too
I just started having issues with mine it somewhat has power won't close all the way either it's like the latch on the back door won't click also any suggestions
Worked on 09 lx
I have just a plain old odyssey, and the fuse was one further down (position 5 instead of 4). I did it with the key in the ignition like you, so i could hear the power get cut, which it did. I waited almost a minute, put it back in, and now the door has no power movement at all, switched on or off. I even disconnected the battery to see if that would help. Passenger and sun roof power still works though. Thoughts? -- thanks for posting this video!
Same problem for me. My working door stopped working.
