Band-Maid has two guitarists. Miku Kobato on the side guitar she is wearing a red rose, and the lead guitar is Kanami. Miku couldn't play the guitar when the band was founded. Her guitar teacher is Kanami. Miku is a great guitarist now. Their songs are written by Miku and composed by Kanami, and in this song, the ideas for the instrumental parts are created by each instrumentalist.

The Japanese word for blooming (as in flowers) is "moe." The cherry blossom is revered in Japan, and is seen as a sign of innocence, but also coming into adulthood. So, something like that.

Some interesting facts about Band Maid. Before they were formed, Miku did not know how to play guitar. Miku was originaly going to be the main singer but when they found Saiki, Miku decided it would be better for the band if she sang back up to Saiki and decided that she should also learn to play the guitar and asked Kanami to teach her.
The drummer, Akane, did not know that girls could even play the drums until she heard the drummer for Japanese band Maximum The Hormone, Nao. (side note, Maximum The Hormone is kind of like a Japanese System Of A Down, but that is a poor comparison. If you have seen the Anime Death Note then you probably have heard them.)
Also. As I am writing this (1,13,2021) Band Maid JUST released their newest album Unseen World and the first single off of it is called Manners and yes, there is a music video out already.

Kanami is also writing most part of the songs, she is a great composer and she trained Miku how to play a guitar, before Band-Maid she had no clue and now look how good she is. Kanami is very shy, introvert and always a little bit somewhere else, but if you give her a guitar and an stage she is showing off! Interacting with the crowd, teasing the fans and just a different person (Mincho)! They all are very talented and great personas, but she stands out for me.

As you know, BAND-MAID is a ROCK BAND made up of all women.
And most of the songs they play on LIVE are songs composed by KANAMI(Lead Guitarist) and written by MIKU(Vocals/Rhythm Guitar). Except for early live performances.
What is sung there is the hearts of women of the same generation as MIKU.
Encounters, challenges, love, hopes, and such swaying feelings in everyday life are sung.Even in songs that sing love, the lyrics thoroughly express the feelings of the female side.
That is the essence of the hard rock band called BAND-MAID, which is different from many other bands.
For example,
Nightwish, a famous band of female vocalists. The mythical and transcendental world that nightwish sings does not exist in BAND-MAID's songs.

Kanami is the lead guitarist and yes the one who does the solos. She’s the one in white outfit without the the twin pigtails. She is also the main songwriter and arranger of the band.
Btw Miku is the one with pigtails. Akane- drummer, Misa- bassist and Saiki- main vocalist.

Musical genius who played piano till 15, and started to play guitar to become cool.

Talent off the scale - a wonderful group of young women musicians who could play any male group of the stage. Guitarist is Kanami who also composes and is probably a music savant.On stage a guitar goddess. Off stage, shy, slightly awkward even gauche but heart breakingly cute.

This is an awesome suggestion for a great band! The sisters in The Warning are ridiculously talented! They've already kicked out 2 albums plus an EP, and countless live performances from small intimate settings to huge monster metal / rock festivals! Great reaction. The (lead) guitarist's name is Kanami Tono and she's also the band's musical genius who (primarily) writes their songs. The other (rhythm) guitarist is Miku Kobato, and she is also the band's lyricist and backup vocalist. The members are close friends, and they are all essential for bringing this band's unique music to the world. The rhythm section of this band (the bassist Misa and the drummer Akane) are two of the most talented musicians you'll find in any band, and have been playing together since they were in music school together (next-level skill and chemistry between those two).
Do not elude to the fact that this is a great band for a "bunch of girls", coz that they are not This is a great band.... period. Great song writing and pure talent does not know gender. With enough exposure in the western world, they will resurrect Rock music (and all that it encompasses) to it's rightful thrown...(OK. that was a little dramatic, but...)
They are a killer Rock band who deserve a place on your coz they are THAT GOOD. Try Domination (live), Rinne(MV), Play(Live) and .... Daydreaming(MV) - for a change of pace. These ladies are the BEST Rock band on the planet, NOW, Imo:

Hey don't worry about not understanding lyrics! Translation is hard, people have to choose between being technically accurate ("this word or phrase means ~this~") or getting across what the writer *means* and how it sounds to a native speaker. And a lot of the time, they go for the "technically accurate" way, and it doesn't always read very well in English, or even make sense sometimes.
It's even harder with song lyrics, it's like translating poetry - to make it work in another language you have to be a poet yourself! And lyrics can be tricky to understand anyway - you're going through like 3 layers here. And honestly, a lot of people don't bother getting into the lyrics or anything, so it's cool that you make the effort, y'know?

Great review. You should check out their instrumental song: Onset. Kanami (lead guitar) just shreds the entire song and the bass and drums are incredible. Drummer is Akane (pronounced Ah-Ka-neigh) and she has an epic solo in the song Freedom live. Keep reacting to their stuff.

I prepared this little guide to help you handle the adventure you are about to embark on.
Once upon a time in Japan....
Miku (Who is a 300+ year old pigeon... long story) was in a short lived "idol" band in Japan and ended up working in a "Maid Cafe". She came up with idea to create a rocking band in maid costumes. A "Gap" as its called in appearance to action.
Miku found singer/songwriter Kaname (Lead Guitar and main Composer), who knew Akane - AKA "The Gorilla - she likes bananas a lot! (drums - Jazz and Classically Trained), who knew Misa - AKA the "Barefoot Assassin" (Bass, Jazz and Classically trained).

Putting it together...
It became apparent Mikus voice wasn't really suited to the style and so they decided to go find Lead Vocals and brought in Saiki. This basically put Miku out of a job in the band she created, but instead she adapted and Kaname started teaching her guitar. That's right. She couldn't even play in the first video they did 6 years ago. Now she has a 70-80s style aggressive punk style attack on rhythm and Kaname is constantly expanding her guitar parts in challenging ways. All while singing backup.

Their first actual song they wrote and recorded was "Alone". They have changed label since and have joined a new one now for the new album going into 2021. Their look, songs, style etc. are their own. Not studio directed.
Pretty cool these days.
Note: Miku is the main lyricist and writes in heavy metaphors that can be interpreted many ways and often confusing in translation. So, they often add parts that audiences of any language can sing along.

Your guinea pig is wanting to listen to the song again.😁. The mistakes you're making are fine, it's a learning experience and you'll get better as time goes on. Kanami is the lead guitarist, but you can call her goddess. The drummer is Akane, the beast since she pounds the crap out of the drums. Lead singer, Saiki- pronounced Sigh-Key, she's the ice queen, very cold until she gets to know someone. MISA is the Barefoot Assassin because she doesn't wear shoes and kills on the bass. Finally is Miku, she calls herself little pigeon. Her name means little pigeon so she likes to end her sentences with the word PO. It's the sound a pigeon makes in Japan. Miku is the mastermind behind the whole thing. Read the history about them sometime, it's very interesting. Anyways, keep making videos, you'll get better & have you pet on more often.
