Time to put in American Sniper.. the most Lethal Sniper in U.S. history! Chris Kyle who is played by Bradley Cooper. Chris got over 160 kills in 4 tours as a sniper. Best sniper ever!
Quite far off from best sniper ever. But he was pretty good.
Yea. Ur off. A russian sniper in ww2 had 300 kills
U.S history, not Russia
That russian sniper probably had more than 4 tours, Chris Kyler had 4 and 160 kills, thats impressive
A Finnish sniper had 505 kills in a single war.
Jackson is underrated he was a left handed shooter using a right handed rifle and still got the shots off fast and clean
Daniel Jackson is the best sniper on this list,no cap, shame he had to die in the movie…
"Enemy at the gates " is the best snipers movie.
I don't think so...
@@akon5017 nah its the fukin best
@@slaire7799 ever heard of Saving Private Ryan
No American sniper it's based on a real sniper name of Chris Kyle. nicknamed devil of rahmati
Enymy at the gates was based on a real sniper master his sniper is still in a musium he is world war hero and its the best sniper movie and saving private ryan not a sniper movie its a great a ww2 movie
Totally agree with #1
watched that film when I was quite young, and it's definitely opened my eyes about there being many more positions in warfare than just footsoldiers, pilots, or guys that drive tanks
The three Navy Seals in "Captain Phillips" to coordinate the 3 shots on a rolling ship against 3 targets on a rolling boat was simply amazing.
Yesssss
Number 8? The girl is shootting with her gun around 3 rounds a second.... and you call that a sniper?
Ok then, define a sniper for me.
Concentrated , accurate, patient and calm... giving someone a sniper riffle doesn 't make you a sniper.... i would call her a gunner
Clark Kent I know that the M82 is a Semi-Auto, but even a semi-auto sniper riffle isn't ment to be shot at this high rate...
And she use a 50.cal for shooting at targets which are 200-300 meters away. You can use 7,62 mm ammo, which is the most commun calliber for sniper riffle, it's much cheaper and at 300m, the accuracy is the same....
Most sniper riffles shoot this, and if you want a semi-auto, pick a dragounov, M39 or M14, it will do the trick, and you won't pay 20$ per shot.
And if she want to fire at a high rate, pick an AR with a scope, which will still do less recoil than the barret (the muzzle brake doesn't stop all recoil).
But lets talk about the sniper, look at the moment when she starts fireing like mad, at every shot she has both eyes open, or both shut.... seriously, i know this is a movie, but... really?
Hmmm, but i can understand you may not agree with me, we don't all have the same opinion. I go to the fireing range with my dad since i'm 4 year old, so i kinda have my opinion about which gun to use for which range/situation
tolerantly
Pat Junior She was just giving some covering fire, so fuckers could not move without shiiting their pants
Saveing private Ryan, pvt Jackson was also left handed I noticed
Yet he looses his skill when he quits the military and joins stargate ;) lol
Ayyyyy I am left handed
The bolt action was set up for a right handed person and he adapted. Coolest part of Saving Private R ..
I love Pvt Daniel Jackson
me too
me too
Yesssss
Tbm
The greatest and only ogs watched saving private ryan
Out of all that were mentioned, Private Jackson, and Vasilli Zaitsev were my all-time favourites.
Enemy at the Gates was a supreme sniper showdown. With the backdrop of WWII it was a thriller from beginning to end. Love that movie.
Much better than the usual WatchMojo video! Less talk, more action
Out of all these movies, only Bob Lee Swagger's , "Shooter" was the movie targeted around the life of a sniper. Other just have snipers as their important characters, and it wouldn't affect the movie if they wont be there. Still you ranked the "Shooter" movie at the end. Speechless.
Saving private Ryan is probably my favourite film. Jackson is literally the most badass sniper in any movie!
I would agree, but Zaitsev was even better. Plus he was a real sniper in WWII, so that just makes him even more awesome.
25 shots from a M82.... without reloading gotta love that hollywoodness
Pvt Daniel Jackson is one of my favorite characters of all time.
You missed American Sniper. And yes, Bob Lee Swagger deserves to be in Top 5.
This video was made before American Sniper was released
Chris kyle was a real person, not a character, maybe world not be fair to put him on the list.
@@RogerioSantos-jf1th Yeah Because they are Assholes And Morons because they disrespecting American Soldiers who fought for are country and freedom Because that's why he wasn't on The List
@@xxxentbrandonredhoodrobins7606 No, dumbass, it's because the movie was released after this video was made.
Brandon Freakin Robinson this is a list about fictional characters. No one is disrespecting Chris Kyle!
Bobby Lee Swagger should have been in the top 5. The number one pick was right on; I think Ed Harris deserves a spot too because of Enemy at the Gates. He was a great nemesis
Totally agree with you. The Swagger sniping was really really good sniping action. I'd have put it at no. 4
Got to agree with number 1. Even AFTER American Sniper was released. Some of Zaitsev's best kills didn't even have a scope in the film. Total badass.
The scene where they get off the boats from the river Volga, after being promised equipment, and they get a rifle between two soldiers is one of the best scenes in war movie history.
Fun Fact: The fountain scene from Enemy at the gates was adapted for a level in Call of Duty World at War.
called vendetta, its the mission where you first meet reznov.
PTE Daniel Jackson, saving private Ryan. Best shot, getting the jerry snipper in the tower. The greatest snipper in a movie sequence, Vassili Zaitsev and his 5 Germans and the major Kernitz
Swagger should've been higher up.
Swagger was my favorite because I've read a lot of the books and some of them were very good. Whalberg was all right but they should've made the movie years ago with Robert Patrick. I think he would've been a better fit for the role if he could do the Arkansaw accent.
Yeah, "Enemy at the Gates" takes the cake in this list. It's not just a "best sniper" flick, it's the best flick of the bunch. The film is very well done and demonstrates how the publicity of a single gunman, (Jude Law as Vasili Zaytsev) can rouse the spirit of a disheartened people. The film did not get terrific ratings (especially in Russia and Germany), so we have to accept that some portion was probably heavily fictionalized. But even so, the fiction brought to the film made it more engrossing. There was no subtext at the beginning of the film to say that the film was a documentary. However, Vasili was real and still considered a hero among the Russian people.
+Thor Odinson Still one of my favorite movies of all time. It's what drove me to buy a very well preserved PU M91/30. not those $100 turds, but a clean bore, non re-arsenal rifle. I love it.
+Thor Odinson I agree, most people don't realize the significance of the Battle of Stalingrad and the role Snipers played in it. Vasili Zaytsev was real, and except for the dual with the German Major (fiction, possible propaganda), was credited with over 625 kills. Because Stalingrad had many concrete buildings with rebar- reinforced concrete, all the Luftwaffe succeeded in doing with bombing Stalingrad was to create a perfect Snipers Killing Ground...Hitler's insistence with leveling Stalingrad first, then block the Vogal and capture the Caspian Oilfields second, doomed the Germans in the East...
Shooter # 10 then smockin aces #8? WTF
"Enemy at the gates" was based on a real person. Vassili's gun is still at a museum
Shaving Ryan's Privates was my favorite sniper
*****
I'm named after the crazy black dude in Predator. I'm not even kidding, my dad admitted to this.
what's his name
Bob Lee Swagger on number 10? That makes no sense at all, since the so called sniper from Heat isn't a real sniper and the girl from Smokin Aces can't really focus and is simply spamming bullets in the end. Because of his skill, survival abilities and his extrem long range shots he should have been listed in the top three.
My top three would be:
3.The sniper from Saving Private Ryan
2.Bob Lee Swagger
1.Vassili Zaitsev
5:16 "I'm 20 years old and I was dumb enough to sign a contract" Lol🤣🤣
Miss out :
Chow Yun Fatt of The Killer,
Dolph Lundgren of Silent Trigger,
Liam Hemsworth (The Expendables 2),
Patrice (Skyfall),
Schoolboy (Rambo),
Ben Affleck of The Accountant
Really? Swagger is only #10 when he takes out 2 targets with a .22 with a soda bottle silencer from over 1000 yards away on a boat???
That's right. He should be way higher
Right he's fuckin awsome
he definitely should be switched with Jarhead Swofford
there were so many good sniper moments in that movie, and that makes it my favorite movie af all time
thats still long for a 22 cal
For once and for all
Zaitsev > Kyle
Эдуард Вятчанин And Surkov > Zajcev
And Hayha > Surkov
Эдуард Вятчанин Hathcock was better than both
Hayha < Surkov, Hayha was better killer, but Surkov better sniper !
AuraSavior Gaming hayha was just killing any soviet soldier that laid in his line of fire, while zaitsev was a true tactician, he didnt simply kill the irrelevant german infantries, but he sniped enemy snipers, artillery spotters, recon, etc. zaitsev is a true legend
“Act of Valor” should've been in this top 10 list, in my opinion. That movie had a great sniper scene.
Thanks. Must check it out
Where is Cougar from "The Loosers" he was a top class sniper for sure.
Vasily Zaytsev is the only person on this list that was an actual person. He accumulated over 400 confirmed kills in WW2 in the Russian military and 225 of them were in the Battle of Stalingrad alone with more than ten of those kills being enemy snipers.
Bjørn Büchert-Jakobsen dude i wasnt being a sarcastic douche. I was just adding additional information to a person on this list and stating that there is nobody else i can add information on.
Dude, in my opinion, the real life Vasily Zaytsev is equal with Gunnery Sergeant Carlos Hathcock in sniper skills. That being said, I reckon The Jackal should have been higher on the list. Vasily Zaytsev definitely deserved to be at the top of the list, though.
He's just the most popular sniper , but he's not the best . Hurray Soviet propaganda . Finnish sniper Simö Häyhä had over 500 confirmed kills with his sniper and an additional 200 kills with his submachine gun . Also he made all those kills within a single year unlike Zaystev , because Häyhä was seriously injured in 1940 when a bullet went through his jaw .
Centauri Simo Häyha is the best of them tough yes.
Anthony Swofford is a real person.
I wholeheartedly agree with number 1. Enemy at the gates is probably one of the best movies i've watched.
Domingo Chavez - Clear and Present Danger (1994)
School Boy - Rambo (2008)
Pvt Jackson has always been my fav. The movie is good, amazing actors. :)
Only if Simo 'The White Death' Hayha had his own movie, he would have dominated this list.
agreed...and i think hes still alive
cicoalbania What, how?
+Cerii yes it is and he trains the aper coming snipers in finland
+Cerii so sorry mate he dead in 2002
+cicoalbania lol these guys thought he was still alive
Bob Lee Swagger should've had a better spot than 10.
Agreed. Maybe number 4 or 5?
Shooting a soda can at a mile because he could and then wiping the floor with a .22 bolt action deserves better than 10.
sure, he might _very well_ have been the "most talented" or "deadliest" shooter on the list, but unfortunately - and this is a BIG problem - *_Shooter,_* the movie, sucked _BALLS._ i think that should at the VERY LEAST come into SOME consideration when making calls like that, don't you?
I actually really like the movie. I knew going into it i wasn't gonna see phenomenal acting or anything. But i really do like the action scenes.
Absolutely. top 3 IMO
love for the lefty. Barry Pepper. Fought in both theater AND nam 💀💀💀
Plus Carlos Hathcock American Sniper.
My Top 2.
1. Shooter
2. Saving Private Ryan
link shooter
someone has not seen GOLGO 13
The lone female child sniper in FMJ should have had top place on this list. Not only was she skilled with that Dragunov, but she was totally terrifying up until end. No other movie sniper was able to scare the audience as well as her. I had Goosebumps for that whole scene. Not bad for a 13 year old.
Not Dragunov. She had VZ-58.
All technicalities aside, she kicked some Lusthog squad, Hotel 2-5 Marine's asses
yeah, the VC sniper in FMJ was scary as hell
Yeah not bad. Should could shoot still targets.
Had a teacher, vet, purple heart winner tell us that females actually make better snipers. No clue why
Matt Axelson and Marcus Luttrel from Lone survivor. Being able to engage strong and fierce enemy opposition with that tenacity and efficiency while taking effective enemy fire and rounds to the body (including the head) like that is something that deserves to be put on a top ten. Especially considering the fact that the firefight was (by reports) quite accurate to what really happened.
The scene in "The Hurt Locker" would be high on my list.
very good head shots there on this list.
What about Sasha, the Serbian sniper of Behind Enemy Lines?? is a savage bad ass
Trueeee
great movie...
yeahh
I just posted about "Lyudmila Mikhailovna Pavlichenko", whom I think they based Sasha from...
Oh! I'm not the only one! ^^
SGT - Stuttgart and CPL - Gordon, from Black Hawk Down, they inserted into the middle of a hostile city to protect a wounded pilot.
They battled for an hour against hundreds if not thousands of armed militia.
It was like Thermopylae, if the Greeks had only had two men.
Seriously, how are they not on this list. Real life heroes at that.
Sean Gorham in the movies dumbass
narto9851
No, real life. Black Hawk Down is about a real scenario. Sgt. First Class Randy Shughart died in the line of duty.
In the 2001 film Black Hawk Down, Shughart was portrayed by actor Johnny Strong
Master Sergeant Gary Gordon also died during the Battle of Mogadishu and was the squad leader of the 1st Special Forces Operational Detachment-Delta or, Delta Force. Which Shughart was a part of.
So, guess you're the dumbass here.
They also were the first people to receive the medal of honor posthumously since the Vietnam conflict.
Pvt Daniel Jackson is an absolute badass. Boy was left handed using a right handed rifle, and his shots were clean as hell.
My favorite is private daniel jackson
My favorite sniper is Jackson from Saving Private Ryan, he was a lefty shooter using a right handed bolt sniper and that didn't even stop him from being a badass and killing quite a few of those Germans.
In terms of skill, I agree with the number one, but overall awesomeness goes to pvt. Daniel Jackson
we need a part 2 to this
Swagger #10? What!?
omg over 75% of these comments are "WHERE'S CHRIS KYLE FROM AMERICAN SNIPER???"
Yes but look at the date,American Sniper do not exist when she made the video
Gamer du Québec thats my point
+notquitemytempo the title also said movie snipers he was a real sniper
number 1 was also a real sniper in ww2
he isnt in this cause the movie was made after this video
What was Bob Lee Swagger not doing in number one?
yeah that one was clearly the best
ever wachted enemy at the gates? its epic
5:19 "When life hands you lemons, you join the military and become a scout sniper in operation desert shield." xD
the sniper from the end of fury.
he is just sooo cool and colected.
"Bob Lee Swagger" has to be the most ridiculous character name ever. They might as well have just named him "Jack Hollowpoint 'Merica" or "Long Dick McBadass".
Your point being?? Hes badass
I lol'd
ha ha
Bob Lee 540 Ladder Stall Y Y No Scope
***** Lol, I like "Smash Lamp Jaw".
I loved Enemy at the Gates. I was quite surprised it was even in this list though!
I love that in smokin aces they show the m82 basically flinging people across a room
Totally agree with number 1
That was an amazing sniper movie
But I’m sure there is at least one movie that’s not mentioned and was great
I’ll post as soon as remember
The sniper chick from Full Metal Jacket should be top 5. I wonder if anyone ever realized she was SNIPING people with an AK-47.
true
THIS.
+Juggtacula looked like a type 56 to me
So a Chinese copy of the AK-47..... :-)
+Juggtacula it was a modified sks (Chinese)
If there is a movie about Simo Häyhä he should be number one, he is a 5'3 killing machine . Also known as "The white death", for 100 days he killed 5 people a day. He was finally shot in the face then went into a coma for a couple weeks woke up and lived till 2002. Oh also he didn't use a scope on his rifle, he didn't like to bring his head up to use a scope so he just used iron sights. What a fucking bad ass.
Yeah yeah we know who he is. No there isnt movie about him. Also u forgot 1 thing. The forrest that he lived in was bombed because they feared him.... he didnt have a scratch. He also always put snow in his mouth when he was in a fight so people wouldnt see his breath
Chris Kyle holds a special place in my heart. HOOYAH
MGySgt Thomas Beckett and Sgt Bob Lee Swagger are my favorites
Sharice or whatever her name is, shouldn't be here. Her only cool attribute is that M82A1, BUT you can't fire it that fast or you'll dislocate you're shoulder. Plus she would not have been able to handle the recoil and kick while spamming like that
you CAN fire it that fast, maybe not as accurate but it definitely wont dislocate your shoulder.
paul torton not beleiving a thing you say unless you have had first had experience or a weapon specialist ... But till then , a weapon with a firepower like that and the way you spam it is gonna hurt quite a bit ...
***** It's do able you won't hit nothing but its a 50 so who cares lol just get close enough.
Arjun Srivastava paul torton ***** Savage Tilley Jerry Miculek says hi.
watch?v=pAW3dlTMv6g
watch?v=GXEK7rcqO-Y
***** well yeah obviously, wont hit nothing at that range firing like that
The dude from "Rambo" should have been atleast an honorable mention
'Sees enemy at the gates clip'
Oh so that's where CoD world at war got the idea lol
Red Orchestra. most kids don't even know how cool that game was.
@@tkpoppe91 I remember! haha I still play 2, rising storm and rising storm vietnam to this day
My favourite sniper is bob lee swagger and Jackson
THE CHARACTER FROM JARHEAD NEVER EVEN KILLED ANYONE ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME?!?!!?!?!?!?!?
no Shifty from Band of Brothers D:
but he wasn't technically a sniper though but he should of been
animelovers000 is it because he didnt have a scope? I think i remember them calling him a sniper even though he used an m1 garand
MillerTurk not sure to be honest not watched band of brothers for sometime but he was a damn good shot with the grand and sniping with a grand like he did is really hard to do
Yesssss shifty
I loved band o brothers let alone shifty powers, but idk if it is a movie
Pvt. Jackson deserves to be number 1.
tstevens8892 I one hundred percent agree.
He shouldn’t because he wasn’t a real person.
Yes
He was left handed using a right handed gun too
Matthew Quigley (played by Tom Selleck) in the film "Quigley Down Under"
Private Ryan should've won, Hurt Locker should've been second.
Men varför har du Göran Persson som profilbild?
the thing is vasili was real
ssuo ben youre right I agree
ssuo ben agreed.
agreed
We need a Simo Häyhä movie.
I get the feeling it'd be really, really boring. Three hours of a little fellow in the snow, plinking Russians in spectacular numbers.
Maybe a dramatisation like Enemy at the Gates? but one that is accurate and realistic like Saving Private Ryan.
George Havenhand It would be interesting, mostly because of the hate Finnish had to Russians. They could show a hateful avenger who wants to kill soviet as his primal mission. Also, a spiritual and moral fight after being shot in the face , trying to understand what war causes, and how he reacted after the peace with the Soviet Union would be pretty interesting.
Very true, and the fact that little Finland was able to hold of the might of the USSR is incredible and that aspect should be shown in a film.
George Havenhand well said sir!
Enemy at the gates always the no 1 historic movie for me.
You should look up all the historical accuracy issues in that movie.
Tom Sellick as Matthew Quigley "Quigley Down Under" , Chris Mitchum as Michael McCandles "Big Jake" , Burt Lancaster as Valdez "Valdez Is Coming".......
the 1st number ranking i've agreed with, good choice
I would have liked Bob Lee Swagger to be a little higher on the list, but since I didn't know most of these I guess I'm glad he's even on it :)
"Major Gunnery Sergeant"? 😂😂😂👌🏻
It's 'Master Gunnery Sergeant'
Enemy at the Gates is one of my all time favorite movies
The Sniper from Phone Booth.
He's notable to me for being a guy who decided to take the matter of somebody's own inefficacy with commitment into his hands, and showed that guy his own mistakes. By causing a havoc and rubbing it in his face.
Kiefer Sutherland was the perfect person to play the sniper in that movie, I love his voice.
So Bob Lee Swagger is number 10 in a film called Shooter all about a sniper who can hit a target at over 2000 yards but a random girl that was barely in smoking aces is 8th :\
Swagger should be much higher
Definitely
Agreed...Shooter is at least in the top 5. As for me, its #2.
same thought
I guess they don't want to make it look like a men's world
So we are just gonna overlook the fact that she called Tom Beringer " Major Gunnery Sergeant"
#9 that sniper looks awesome, I would love to own 1 like it's just simple and light weight
FORGOT about Jeremy Renner from "28 Weeks Later".
His skill to check other snipers ( using small piece of mirror to find out their position, his ability to orientate ) is just great. Would place near to Jarhead. on 1st and 2nd place.
Great acting.
100% agreed
He's movie name was Sgt. Doyle. He was also skilled not only with his sniper rifle, but also with his backup M4A1. I liked the scene when he shoot up like 8 zombies during the escape with single shots.
Maza945
thank you :) I liked it too.
Snipin's a good job, mate
boom. headshot
No dad, i'm not a crazed gunmen, i'm an assassin!

Kurty Frattin Dad, Put mom on the phone.
bobbly swager number 1 he is an inspartion to me what a man
Jarhead
Shooter watched
The day of the jackel ..needed
Smokin aces...
Heat
holy crap HEAT is my favorite movie but it has nothing to do with sniping. chris is not even sniping in this movie.
he only has an assault rifle with a vision extension.
thats not a sniper what the fek
there is no set weapon for sniping one older longest sniper kill was set with a 50 cal machine gun
The black chick from smokin aces shouldn't of been on this list.... IMO. The only thing cool about her was the .50 cal sniper rifle.
Agreed. No sniper pushes that much lead down range while letting their 31 lb (without glass or ammo) rifle jump all over the place. (Setting up on a bed? Seriously?) With that much movement the "sniper" wouldn't be putting any subsequent rounds through the same window much less into enemy targets. I know I'm being anal retentive but if your making a top 10 list at least put a little bit of research into your topic. Also is it me but judging by the muzzle break that's an M82A1. The .50 cal always looks cool because overkill is always underrated but that scene could have been way better with a rifle chambered in .338 Lapua or .408 Cheytac to add at least smidgen of realism to it. I especially like the part where she is just pulling the trigger with both eyes closed. Uggh. Obviously I'm not the target audience for these types of moves though :)
athran11 I think they did that more to capture her emotional state. I mean, clearly when she fired without the stress of thinking her partner was down, she was supremely effective. The director for the first Smokin' Aces was really big on realism, most firefight scenes used squibs to make the actors seem more realistic when shot. (Squibs = Small explosive charge with fake blood, used to capture the gunfire and impact in the same frame.)
Also, she had feelings for her partner, so that adds some more depth to it.
I don't know if you remember from the movie but her and Georgia had just come off of a job taking down a gang of triads....Ummm Idk I think that right there qualified her....how many chicks do u see even attempt to shoot something that was designed to take armored targets....just saying😏
M82s ... yummy. Yeah that was the best part really. I mean she was dumb enough to get herself killed
I'm not religious at all, but I think when the shooter in "Private Ryan" uttered Biblical quotes
just before he killed someone was particularly powerful, and that's good writing. It moved me. But I think the scene where Jude Law finally kills the German super sniper in "Enemy at the Gates" was the ultimate in pure film satisfaction. For without great direction and plot development, no amount of screen violence means anything.
totally agree with the number !!!!
#8 was fucking stupid, 1, sniper's dont stick the barrel of the gun out the window. and 2, there's not way she could go rapid fire with a .50 Cal and still hit the targets, or even get close to hitting them...
It was definitely stupid. Shouldn't have made the list...
I don't think the barrel was ever sticking out of the window, but she was pretty close to it, and yes you could hit your targets shooting that fast. The M82 is made for the recoil to go straight back so if you have it set up on a bipod you don't have to worry.
Booker DeWitt You need to chill out man. Snipers are actually trained to fire from the back of the room that they are in. If the sniper rifle was sticking out of the window then they would obviously be seen. Im not saying that they never do but they won't if they have the choice not to. The only reason she would need to be near the window is if she's firing at someone on the ground.
Especially since the one she uses doesn't look like it has a muzzle brake
COD and BF nerds strike with no mercy
Leon from Leon the Professional? Come on, he is bad ass.
remember what he said - sniper is for rookies.
Galina Dimitrova-Dimova Exactly. He excels at killing.
Leon is a badass
Joe Shit the Rag Man You don't say. :D
Oh shit! that was totally forgotten!
Raymond Shaw (Lawrence Harvey) from The Manchurian Candidate and Alvin C. York (Gary Cooper) from Sergeant York
Could you please do a video on Top 10 sniper movies?
Am i the only one who is sad that"The professional: Leon" was not there Jean Reno and young Natalie Portmen are the most badass snipers
Oh! And the plant, super sniper plant
In fact, the best sniper since Winter War is still Finnish sniper Simo Häyhä with over 500 confirmed kills. And he did those kills much under 3 months. His best kill was headshot to about 500 meters. That kill was shot with iron sights. Häyhä never used scope for couple of reasons. There's the best sniper we have ever had. And I'm proud of having same blood he had.
I know one of the reasons was that the scope could reveal him by reflecting the sun, more than that I do not know.
It was because of the environment, vast plains of snow so the scope would be revealing.
TimpsterTheDude Also the fact that scopes can easily fog up in cold weather.
Randy Sellner That too.
TimpsterTheDude and the fact that using scopes puts your head on a higher profile than without.
You three all took that from Wikipedia I swear to god. Those are all the same reasons stated on the site lol but I agree; he was the best.
Fun fact: vasily zaitsev actually existed during world war 2. The battle of Stalingrad in 1942/43 was where he became famous. The movie "enemy at the gates " was loosely based on his actions. Too romanticized, but based on him. Read the book " the war of the rats" for a better version of what he did. Also, this is a list of MOVIE snipers, not necessarily real life snipers, which is probably why they didn't put colonel Hathcock in this list. He would make 90% of these snipers look weak as f*+k, so that is probably good he's not on here.
Major gunnery Sgt! That sounds important!
