    Just to clarify something, this puzzle is fully solvable by logic and does not require any random chance, you just have to look closely. Additionally, this is the first version I printed, and I have made some slight improvements to the version I am selling. Also, when unlocked, the shackle can be turned 90 degrees for better freedom of movement if you want to attach it to something.

    Cool lock. Can be used for convincing other people to stay out of your stuff. By hitting them with it.

    I feel like if the lock was steel welded, it would actually make a decent security lock (if it doesn’t mess with the magnets)

    IX is nine and I see that on the right side of the shackle.

    happy holidays Mr. Puzzle.and everyone else! the padlock is ok not a big fan of plastic in that the cylinder releasing was more of a surprise as a result I was unsure if it was mechanical (if it was a solution) or if a failure in the manufacturing of the lock mechanism.

    this is kinda neat. there seems to be misdirection with the numbers but considering this is first print, it’s not a bad start.

    • @coremods7542
      @coremods7542 Před 4 měsíci +1

      It's not all intended as misdirection. There is some, but most of it was just hints that were missed in this particular case.

    I think this puzzle got a '3' because you got some satisfaction in taking it apart and seeing the mechanism. Every move you did seemed accidental. I would only give this puzzle a '2'. Be realistic, if you couldn't take it apart, what would you give it?

    • @Mr.Puzzle
      @Mr.Puzzle  Před 4 měsíci

      I think still a 3. But without knowing how it works it would be very unsatisfying. Actually, I only solved the Maze randomly. The rest was more or less in the right direction.

      @@Mr.Puzzle Exactly what I was trying to tell you. If I couldn't see the interworkings, it would be a 2. I love solving real lock puzzles. You can see what I do on my channel as I make keys for antique padlocks without taking them apart. This is truly satisfying.

    • @coremods7542
      @coremods7542 Před 4 měsíci +1

      I'd agree if the lock wasn't saturated with very logical hints that just got overlooked.

    • @laurenarndt464
      @laurenarndt464 Před 4 měsíci

      @@coremods7542 I think it's fair to say that this puzzle got a 3 because out of pitty. Almost like, "Oh, my bad- I see all all the logic you, the inventor, put into this design that I randomly solved, so I give you a 3 because I failed to solve it logically or the way you intended." 🤔 I can pick a lock open logically (single pin picking) or randomly (raking). Which process deserves more skill? Give this lock to a kid and see what happens.

    • @coremods7542
      @coremods7542 Před 4 měsíci +1

      @@laurenarndt464 Honestly I'm not sure I get your point. The puzzle was a bit mishandled due to the time constraints placed on Mr Puzzle. That doesn't mean it didn't require skill. He tried every number along each stage until one worked, not putting together the 3 or 4 hints etched into this particular lock, and editing it down to seem like it took him seconds when in reality it probably took significantly longer (which to be fair is how most puzzle solves are edited). He never saw the logic (or at least didn't acknowledge it when we communicated after the solve) in the end to give it a pity review, in fact he still really liked it despite skipping most of the logic by his own choice in the first half.
