Hanayama UFO Metal Puzzle Hints - Tips and Tricks to get started

Taking a look at the Hanayama metal ufo puzzle. Even with solution videos the puzzle is still quite challenging. This puzzle is level 4.

I’ve been working for two days and can’t find solution. It’s really frustrating since there’s to intuitive way to make it happen.

(Spoilers) The reason the number one piece isn't sliding out easily for you is because there are ridges in the number 3 piece that are in the way when the pieces are perfectly aligned and meet in a + shape. Instead try opening the gap between them slightly like you do to identify the number 3 piece and you will be able to easily tap the shell and watch the top piece fall out, if it's the correct one. You can even get a number 2 piece to fall out instead of the number 1 if they're properly arranged.

This is basically what I thought had to happen but I still can’t get it lol. So does the number 1 piece have to come out first?
