One of the cool things about Tokyo is that the cityscape basically continues until it just stops and becomes forested mountains or rice paddies / farms. Also, although there is some discrepancy as to whether it deserves the number one spot because their population includes the metropolitan area and not just the city proper itself, I would say it makes sense because you can go from Tokyo, to Kawasaki, to Yokohama all without realizing you have entered different cities. The mass of buildings just doesn't waver.

A few fun facts about São Paulo, Brazil:
    - It has the 5º largest stock market in the world
    - It's the largest city in Brazil, but up to the 1950s, some other famous Brazilian cities were larger, such as Rio de Janeiro
    - Speaking of Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo is actually older than Rio! Rio was founded in 1565, and São Paulo was founded in 1554, just 54 years after the Portuguese explorers arrived. The very first (and oldest) city in Brasil is Porto Seguro, in the state of Bahia

This goes to show how hard it is to delineate a city to count its population, Ecatepec is Mexico's most populous municipality outside Mexico City. But Monterrey is usually considered the second most populous "city" after Mexico City, closely followed by Guadalajara. However, these "cities" are divided and administered as separate municipalities.

Puebla (another large city and State Capital) is just farther to the E / SE.

You're probably thinking of Toluca (capital of the State of Mexico), which is about 80 km west of Mexico City. Toluca is close enough that quite a few folks live in Toluca and work in Santa Fe, a business district in the edge CDMX, which is only 50km from Toluca.
Pachuca (capital of the State of Hidalgo) is also under 100km from Mexico City, and a few folks do live in Pachuca and work in the greater Mexico City area (or just north of it). But it is also generally not included within the co-urban area.

I am in noway favouring the Pakistani government or leadership as my opinion of them is atrocious. From my point of view the most equitable outcome is Jammu and Kashmir to be split with each having to choose their side be it independence, burying the hatchet with India or joining Azad Kashmir. What gets to me is innocent soldiers and civilians are being killed in the name of imperialists and at the same time so much extremism through poverty, destitution and ignorance. Do you think those young men would be insurgents if they were given proper education, treated with dignity and respect and access to good paying jobs. I think not. India has come along way from decolonisation however I feel this new sense of nationalism is no different from Nazi Germany. We are fighting colonial borders. This is crazy, you have one group of Indian nationalists crying about restitution from Bitain for colonialism but then want to exert British colonial borders. The hypocrisy. In the middele ages Dutch towns would become a city by paying their nobles for "city rights". Our seat of governement The Hague (500.000) is officially still a town, but Staverden (30) can call itself a city.

No, it's not. 'City rights' haven't been a thing since the Napoleonic era. Only people from tiny villages that once bought those rights actually mention it.
Whether something is a village or a city is defined by quite a lot of factors.

@@AscotMusic You're right. It holds no official status nowadays. It's just a fun thing people like to say about their town/city. I didn't make that clear, thanks for adding this.

early on the video you put Dhaka ahead of Osaka, when Osaka has a higher population. I don’t know if the positions are swapped or you added an extra extra 1 to Osaka’s population or you forgot to add an extra 1 to Dhaka
