One of the advantages Kayla has on this build is working so close with GPI AND having a true engine dyno of the car. This gives true street cred to the engine combination.
We can work backwards from there to calculate drivetrain losses (usually 15% on a manual GM car, non-Corvette), as well as the very real losses she’s experiencing here with the altitude (huge deal on NA cars) and the wretched 91-octane available in the western US. 🥵
It’s 2 legit handicaps for the power production.
Keep up the content, Kayla. Your Camaro is the ONLY 5th Gen I like. Very tastefully done all around, with tons of research and attention to detail. ❤️ 🍻
Respect from central TX. 😎
That smile says it all. Glad the camaro is doing great. Hard to believe that car is 10yrs old. Looks so nice. Hope someday you do a road course video with it.
I do absolutely love my Camaro. I actually just took the Camaro to a Road Course this week! Video maybe coming soon, stay tuned 👀
Nice to see you and your infectious smile Kayla. The car sounds good and looks the same. Keep working at it kiddo and thank you for the video. Drive on.
Thank you so much for the continued support!
It is always good to have a tune for each area you go to. Know you have a tune for home and when you visit Arizona.
Yes I totally agree! It's crazy to see how much the car changes being in different places over the country. Very lucky to have the best people in Arkansas & Arizona depending on where I am at.
🔥🔥🔥 great job Kayla
Thank you so much for the support!
Dyno Comp is legit, I still have my custom tune on my Mustang from them when in Arizona years back.
They do great work! Time for you to go back and say hi... I am there all the time!
Hi Kayla Rundle! I can't wait to see your camero unleashing all its power on the asphalt with its big new engne.
Watch out for me on the streets!!
Crazy that I am 100hp lower power without any bottom end and on the 6.2 compared to your 6.8. I can't wait to buy some bottom end stuff with GPI, sad I couldn't see/hear the car while you were here.
It's pretty wild that a motor can be so much faster without any forced induction. I prefer bigger & staying reliable- plus not a lot of car people pick this direction for power, fun to be different. Feel free to reach out to me if you need help with anything from GPI, I am an affiliate through them and know everything 416 & Camaro! Haha
Also, you are aware I'm sure the engine dyno and car dyno power numbers will never be the same. I love the sound of your car when near idle.
Yes I am aware the Engine Dyno and Chassis Dyno numbers are different. I actually have a full CZcams video of putting my 416 on the Engine Dyno which made around 753hp compared to the 569rwhp you see here. Big differences but all so much fun! Thank you so much for the support.
@@KaylaRundle Yes I watched it. Killer motor! And you helped build it!
@@KaylaRundle where did you get your spoiler?
SWEET RIDE
I am in Phoenix and waiting on my GPI 416. I am going a slightly different direction that you. Mine is going to be straight E due to compression increase. Do you have a HP tuner? I was contemplating on to a remote tune from GPI at a local dyno. This may be as good of a option. Thanks for the video. I was literally contemplating this the last week or so and was going to reach out to cordes. Nice to know there is alternatives.
Congrats and welcome to the GPI Fam & 416 Fam! Straight E is smart and I am sure it'll perform wonderful- especially built by the best people! I do own the MPVI3 Device from HP Tuners and then I just brought the car to Dyno Comp, gave them my device and they did the rest. I do not think they allow people to remote tune using their dyno but it doesn't hurt to ask. Sadly, I do not recommend Cordes since I have ran into several bad situations with them over the years. There are plenty of options for you to pick from, tuning it yourself through GPI Remote Tuning or bringing it to DynoComp or somewhere similar in the area.
You’re the best Kayla
Thank you, so are you
Good stuff
Thank you!
How's the fuel efficiency?
Arizona sleeper turns into and East Coast reaper, gotta love it!
YES that's the idea. They don't know what they fighting against when I show up!
Nice job I have a 415 in mine with 553 rwh on pump gas thinking about doing E85 next 😘
You can easily make 640hp crank on pump gas (91/93+) without sacrificing drivability.
👍🏻
Car sounds great! So how much did it pick up with the e85r? 15 wheel?
Since we put in the wrong Gas, while tuning the mixture was around E50 so at that level we made 569RWHP. Not sure how much it would make on PURE E85R tho.. maybe we shall leave that to the imagination!
solid numbers for the altitude. That cam chop sounds so goooodd lol
We dropped the RPMS just slightly at Idle so that it has more of a lope to it now.. shhh ahha thank you!! I LOVE it too
@@KaylaRundle LOL, I won't judge i'm doing the same thing on a bike I'm building rn 😅
Jeez
It's really hard to tune a motor in horrible air, for instance my dragster in bad air will lose approximately a .10 or a .10 and a half with bad air. I'm on gas. It's a catch 22 just get in in a tune that equals to the air that the car will normally be run in. Just know you're leaving quite a bit on the table.
Interesting seeing the difference location makes. Do you plan on staying NA or adding boost? Thanks for sharing Kayla! Take care! Eddie
I plan on staying NA since I built my bottom end Rings tight for NA.
@@KaylaRundle Ah! I'm embarrassed to ask but what specifically is the bottom end. Crankshaft? Take my man card LOL
@@808SSCamaro haha well per usual everyone can give different answers but yes… it’s basically everything within the block so Pistons, rods, CrankShaft, etc 🤗
@@KaylaRundle Thanks!
Since there are Dyno comment, Let's not forget that the rear Gear Ratio will make a difference. Tire size too
That is very true. I still have stock gears!
I love the sound of your car what is your exhaust setup?
I actually have a stock Exhaust! Just paired with a built 417, GPI MAX 2.0 Heads & Cam Package, Kooks LT Headers.
Mega car mega girl❤
DreamWife
Can you please explain what buying credits is? Btw he doesn't want you in the car to help the car hook he wants you in there to smell the lotion you use. Js
You have to purchase credits which is used to purchase the licensing for the different modules of your vehicle. So without the credits you wouldn't be able to access anything to change the tune for the car even if you have the module.
❤️👋🔥
How much for that type of tune???
A lot, but not a lot. Back in the day, it was close to a grand to get that level of tuning, but now the controller is $350, and they have a scam, I mean, business model, where they sell you "credits" that locks in the VIN you're modifying. So, $450-$600ish.
It's only worth it, if you're a tuning junkie. Otherwise, it's better to get a "mail tune" from a reputable tuner.
I can tune most PCM for $200.
what does the license plate mean wok wok
Wow you’re amazing sweetie ❤❤❤❤❤
She is? What did she do? I saw her touch a cardboard box. Did I miss something?
Kayla, LS7 is a very powerful engine, but from my own experience and many others.. It just won't be reliable. Especially with anything aftermarket that adds power. Stock with it only revving to 65k max and the valves fixed and going easy on it I think it could last 150k miles. I am confident you won't get more than 50k miles on that engine. I hope its more, but ya. best of luck. the cylinder walls on that engine are way too thin. if you don't drop a valve, fail a lifter, you will crack a sleeve.
I want a V8 that lasts 200k and can be beat on.
@@thegoldbarron9504 this is not the LS7 block so it is still super strong only having an LS7 Cam UP! It has the 416 block stroked from a LS3 so it’s super reliable!
@@KaylaRundle Surprised and happy you you replied, well it shows I am not watching the details otherwise I would have caught that. Glad to hear. Hopefully it will be more reliable. My Z06 issues can be found on the 'Z06 Baron' channel if you are curious.
Kayla Soo beautiful ❤️

I would have been pissed if he threw the keyboard like that on my dash
It's a race car. If you're worried about that kind of stuff then you definitely wouldn't be 4 tunes in on a full built road course vehicle... maybe a fully restored OEM I'd be upset but then it wouldn't need this kind of attention lol
@Kayla Rundle Well I mean, you did let your wheel fall off, so a scratched dash isn't too bad compared lol
@@KamronLsx Yeah plus my Dash is faded and scratched pretty bad from when I installed my Headliner. Anything OEM I got to get rid of anyways- eventually it'll be resurfaced or thrown out and replaced haha
416hp holy fuk my 15k bimmer makes more then that vs your 80k maro
That’s the size of my motor not the horsepower
@@KaylaRundle even then u should’ve gone boosted ur gonna lose to a lot of ppl in ur range
@@BmwMe-uh9sy that’s fine with me. I built this for Road Course and mostly for self enjoyment
Still take a cammed chevy over any bmw keep being you Kayla
@@KaylaRundle ya homies never felt an all motor NA making over 500 he just don’t understand😂. I just finished stroking my 12 SS to 416 and I’m trying to follow your build series as I’ve still got stock manifolds and intake holding me back.
I thought woman can’t drive💀
*mmm. I prefer my car tuning without vocal fry.*
Ma'am the elevation here in the valley is just over 1000 ft not 3000. Obviously not as low as sea level but it shouldn't make that much difference. Had my camaro dynoed both here and in California and the numbers were within 5 and 6 whp.
Oh wait, she's not talkin bout Prescott or up north, ie... ELEVATION? Phoenix? ROFL. I made my fastest engine and fastest pass in Phoenix. 1000ft might as well be sea level in a closed off valley. DRY HEAT is more of an issue for cars than 1000ft. It runs better in the south, because of the humidity.
