      Well if I want to get technical it’s side A and side B since it was originally on vinyl. Side A ends with “great gig in the sky” and side B starts with “money” so there is a sort of forced intermission if you listen on vinyl.

    To me, Time tells the story of a life coming full circle.
    It tells the story of a person who is young and carefree, ticking away the moments that make a dull day. Looking for inspiration or something to show them the way. They are bored and tired of staying home and lying in the sunshine, but they are young and there is time to kill today. Then they realize with a start that time is passing and they need to chase the metaphorical sun and make something of themselves. But no matter how hard they run after their dream, there is always something more to chase. They make plans to make their mark on the world but it doesn't turn out the way they want. Then fast forward in their life after all the time chasing the dream when they realize the home they left was the key the whole time. It gives solace to the soul and they like to be there when they can. The tolling of the iron bell speaks of death and the funeral of the individual when the final curtain falls.
    I hear a lot of people say that the song is a warning about wasting time. While that is a valid interpretation of the lyrics, the way I take it is is a warning to be careful what you wish for. Want what you have and appreciate it because it won't be here forever and neither will you. Love like there is no tomorrow because one day you will be right. It is not a song to be sad about to me. It is a song to help you celebrate where you are, who you are, who you are with, and where you are at.

It was selected for preservation in the United States National Recording Registry by the Library of Congress for being deemed "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant". • @hongfang2508
    @hongfang2508 Před 3 lety +8

    Dark Side of the Moon is a ''rock opera' where each song leads into the next song. First song on the album contains snippets of songs that follow. At the end of this song "Time" you have the transition to the next song called "Great Gig in the Sky", an exceptional song that flows from this song. So best way to hear Time or Great Gig in the Sky is play them together, one after the other. Indeed, that is the best way to listen to Dark Side of the Moon, start to finish.
    There is a natural break on Dark Side of the Moon between side 1 and side 2 with Great Gig in the Sky being end of side 1 and the song "Money' being the beginning of side 2.

    I have liked and subscribed to follow your journey down the Pink Floyd rabbit hole. This band is the GOAT as they are pioneers of music like no other band before or since. Their legacy and influence across the music industry are massive. Unlike performers today, who focus on singles, Pink Floyd wrote albums, designed to be listened to (over and over again) from start to finish to fully appreciate the concepts they discuss. And their concepts are big, wide and deep. Here is a list of the five essential Pink Floyd songs to react to:
    1. The Great Gig In The Sky (The Dark Side of the Moon - 1973)
    2. Shine On You Crazy Diamond - Parts I-V (Wish You Were Here - 1975)
    3. Dogs (Animals - 1977)
    4. Hey You (The Wall - 1979)
    5. Echoes (Meddle - 1971) - This should be followed up by Echoes - Part 1 Live in Pompeii (1972)

    There is no other band in the history of music, that will take you on a journey with each and every song, like Pink Floyd does! They are. without a doubt the GOAT in Progressive Rock History! No one can touch them. Pink Floyd is a British Rock Band formed in London in 1965, they have sold over 300 million albums worldwide.
    That 300 million is second only to the Beatles, 800 million!
    How about some more Pink Floyd from the 1994 Pulse concert? Some of their finest live performances are from that concert.
    Songs like "High Hopes", "Learning to Fly" "Sorrow", "One of These Days", "Money", "On the Run", "On the Turning Away", "Coming Back to Life" to name a few.

    Start from the beginning of the album...the whole thing kinda flows from one song to another. You gotta listen to the whole thing. 🤟

    Before you do the album Dark Side of the Moon, here's two track Suggestions. Most Pink FLoyd fans would agree "Shine on You Crazy Diamond" pt 1-V is one of their MOST EPIC tracks and or you can do "Welcome to the Machine". Both are GUARANTEED to blow your mind. Make sure you have the lyrics on hand to fully grasp the meaning. Peace Brother....
