- This is definitely not a misleading video, yes you can tune your n52 bmw engine for free with the bimmerlabs free tune. make sure you get yourself a kd can cable from bimmergeeks for a safe tune without any worries. once you tune the car you'll feel a big difference after a few days of your car getting used to the remap/tune of course. then once you finish the tune you can go and get yourself a 3 stage intake manifold from a bmw e90 330i which is what I did but I bought the intake manifold first lol.

Yeah man appreciate it and facts, I needed my 328 to be a 330 and it works, ima put on my manifold real soon this week hopefully. Now I'll be on par with acura tl's and some other cars as well. Surprisingly e90 330s has power that alot of newer cars are just now getting lol. Shit they're kinda even in power with a f30 328 but doesn't have more torque though.

@@juancabrerajr9996 you can get to about 285hp with the right mods for your 330. You can get an afe stage 2 air intake that adds some hp from what I've seen as well.

Thanks man! I just bought a high mile 06 330i that was pourly maintained. I just replaced the broken DISA valve. Did both just to be sure. Still idles like shit and has misfire cyl1 and P1415 secondary air pump which someone deleted the whole system. This weekend I'm installing new plugs, oil, filter and VANOS solenoids. I really hope those solenoids are the problem. As much dirt that was on them they haven't been changed. I ordered the cable I pray I can get that p1415 code turned off so I can pass inspection. I won't notice perfromance difference since I only drove the car for like 5 miles before buying it!

Damb I have 535i trans is also bad just got a 328i Xdrive n51 to get around in and I feel the same way about wanting more outta of it but I don’t think the n51 has as much support for tuning like n54 or F series. I honestly don’t know how to go about tuning I need some help.

Yeah its no issue doing that and yeah you need to tune your 328 so the manifold will work properly.

My bad for the late reply but I think for pops and stuff you can get the resonator and muffler delete with headers and you should be good.
I have a three stage intake for my '07 328 i that I plan on putting on and tuning it. Do you know if I can use the throttle body and injectors off the 330i or they any better?
It's the same engine, the 328 is just detuned and doesn't have a 3 stage intake manifold like the 330 does.

Bimmerlabs didn't make a tune for the 51 engines yet not that I know of, but you can ask them if they can.
How hard is it to get it back to the stock ecu if you having problems I'm new to bmw tuning and cars never had one gonna be purchasing a 328i ending of this year
Honestly I haven't tuned it back to stock but I'm sure it's the same as tuning it to a 330. Also I think you should go for a f30 328. They're much faster and have way more tuning options and mods for them, that's gonna he my next car in the next few years..... I'll get a f30 328, 330 or 335.
So this is completely possible for my e90 with n51 ? From what I know all n51 motors come with stage 3 intake manifold.
I'm not sure if bimmerlabs made a tune for the n51 engines. You'd have to go to their website and see or email them if they have one.

Thank you, and that service light means you just have the choice to take it to get examined or whatever to make sure everything is okay with it.

I think bimmerlabs has the USA spec 330 tune, not sure. My car definitely is faster though after installing the 3 stage intake manifold.

No it will not work, you will end up bricking DME if you flash RSA delete by itself.

@@EmpraMcdade Your car is an N52, Bimmerlabs doesn't have a 330i tune for the N51, they only have the RSA delete and running that by itself will brick the DME, already have to save a couple of friend's N51 and reflash their DME after they bricked it.
The N51 and N52 are similar but different engines with different compression and tuning at the end of the day.

Not sure if you’re still active but, I have the n51 I believe bimmerlabs have made a tune for the n51 so with the 3SI and the tune after how much horsepower should I be getting? 330i power? i’ve heard after the 3SI and a tune should be around 270 just wanna confirm thanks
I'm active still and are you sure they made a tune for the n51? If they did then you're good to go. You'd be pushing about 260 hp and 220 torque.

Thanks man it's a big difference, I raced a stock 328 and I won easily lol. But the bimmerlabs tune is only for the n52, I don't think they made a tune for the n51 yet. But when you do find a way to tune it you'll be good.
Next engine mods ima get will be a silicone intake boot that was told to add 5 to 7 hp and maybe active autowerks headers that add 20 to 25 hp. After those mods I'll be at around 283 hp.

e90 330s are very rare so yeah you're lucky. The difference is the 328 has 230hp and 200 tq while the 330 has 255hp and 220 tq but when you tune your e90 328 with bimmerlabs you can make it a 330 basically.

It's a free n52 bimmer geeks tune that you can download free on your computer but make sure your anti virus is off so you can access it and tune the car.

No it won't, I heard bimmerlabs is coming up with an n51 tune though I just don't know when it'll come up.

Yes, I recommend you do this tune first then install the intake manifold after. But run your car with the tune first for about a week or 2 then install the 3 stage intake manifold just to make sure everything is okay. Also I recommend getting new spark plugs and ignition coils after installing it. Cause your car will require more air now bringing more power.

@@alexluvsmilfs69 You definitely want the intake in my opinion, totally worth it! The difference once you get the intake on is pretty night and day across the rev range. I'd say the intake provided more of a difference feel wise vs my exhaust headers. Now I have a StageFP tune to really take advantage of all my bolt ons but I can recommend Hassmaschines Bimmerlabs tune for sure, can't argue with free!

Yeah its actually better to tune it first before putting the manifold in. Then you can get the manifold whenever you're ready.

@@Odzyn make sure your pcv hose is matching the 3 stage intake manifold and also you can get new disa valves for it. I got mine from ebay and the disa valves were fine when I checked them before installing it.

Yeah haven't had any issues at all yet. I may change out the disa valves and get newer ones later on down the line even though the ones on the manifold I got were in good shape.

It gets you to the hp that a 330 has from factory so about 255 or 260 hp.

I had a 07 328 back in the day. I was on E90post back in those days and was one of the lab rats for the Eurocharged (i think that's what the company was called) flash tune. Without the 3 stage intake manifold the gains are marginal. The 3 stage will put you up there with the the 330. The intake is a giant waste of money. Just open your stock box and cut out the charcoal filter for better air flow. If anything get the bmw performance exhaust the sound on it was amazing. 3 stage intake manifold, flash tune, and exhaust is pretty much the max you can do performance wise on the N52. I know some guys got headers as well bur idk if you will pass emission inspection with them on though.
I did all of that lol, I have a 3 stage intake manifold after getting it tuned and it worked the car up alot. Ima get a silicone intake boot for better throttle and minimal hp soon.
@@EmpraMcdade Right on bro. I loved my E90 328 it was the Bimmer i put most work into. Since than I had a 12 335xi E92. And currently have a 16 228xi and a 18 440xi F32 but I had the fondest memories in my 328. In early 2013 I sold it to my friend's younger brother and picked up the 335. The kid totalled the car while doing wheelies and hitting a lamp post like 8 months later. Even though I no longer owned the car i was livid cause of all the work i put into it. I had the tune, euro intake box, H&R touring cup kit suspension, white bulbs for the angle ligjts, Beyern mesh 18in wheels, and a BMw performance exhaust.

Are you keeping up with the basic maintenance? One thing I'd recommend is spark plug change every 40k mile and if you are at close to 100k or over change the coils as well. Also examine your belt and pullies. If your start seeing any play or squeaking replace them asap. Other thing I'd recommend is oil changes at every 5k miles. And at 80k the transmission fluid (pan/filter also if auto) needs to be changed, along with differential fluid. If you have AWD than transfer case fuild as well. And I recommend giving the engine bay a good wipe down when ever you wash your car, which I hope you hand wash yourself. This way you can also do a quick fulids check and see for any possible gasket leaks.
I have awd and I I do plan on getting the differential oil changed soon. Ima get new oil in car before winter and ima change the belts soon too.
It won't work with euro spec 325i tho. It uses 2.5 engine with 3 stage manifold already
It's only specifically for these cars, if you go to bimmerlabs you'd see it in the instructions.

Before you tune... please be aware you need certain components such as intake manifold w/disa valves. You don’t just tune from 325i to 330i. I hope this makes sense for people who are looking to tune their car safely
Um you can still tune the car without the 3 stage intake manifold and disa valves lmao that's what I did and my car was fine.
It's also better to do it that way to see how the car runs and then add the 3 stage intake manifold with disa valves.
where is the best place to get the intake manifold from?
I got mine from ebay for about 260 dollars. All the gaskets and disa valves were good too, I talked to the ebay seller about it and he said the manifold was in good condition.

I just tried flashing the tune, and almost bricked my dme! It’s not as easy as all these people make it seem. I followed the video perfectly, rewatched over and over and over just to be sure that this works and that I’m doing it right. Now I have to pay $200 to get my ecu reprogrammed if it’s even able to be reprogrammed at this point. Seems like the dme can’t pull the vin number from the cas and shits out a ton of fault codes and put my car in limp mode!!!! Plan on paying someone in the future to flash my car from now on, a lot less hassle.
Yea that's what I did, I didn't wanna mess my cars dme up so I had my friend help me. Hope you get that issue resolved man.

Nah mine didn't, you can tell if a manifold is a 3 stage. If I had a n51 engine then yeah it comes with it but I have a newer n52 engine which doesn't.
