What. A. Match. Total gladiator battle. Two legends of Spain duking it out. This is about as RAW as clay court tennis gets and I absolutely love everything about it. I miss Ferrer, but I am happy with Alcaraz, Busta, Bautista-Agut and Fokina. Playing phenomenal tennis. Thanks for providing this video. Was a fantastic watch
I' ve just watched again this match. 10 years after.... And I still vibrated and encouraged Ferrer. I knew It was almost an imposible task, win against Nadal
Guys, the amount of racquet head speed and spin nadal was putting into the ball is just tooooo insane. I dont remember seeing him put such intense effort hitting as he did here. Esp in the second set.
Rewatch the Australian Open 2009 semi-final match between Nadal and Fernando Verdasco. One of the most intense and best matches ever! 5 sets, and then Rafa played 5 sets against Federer in the final as well. The Verdasco match was a better match though.
The clay is now pretty similar to hard with the exception of the sliding part which is why Nadal still prefers it over hard. The sliding thing is what allows him to cover the court better.
Nadal vs Ferrer, Barcelona 2012 Final. One of the most quality matches I've seen on clay, which included the longest set ever won by Rafa (1h33)!
How many set points did he save in that first set?
Their first set in 2012 Rome also high quality but doesn't know the duration

This is the kind of stuff I feel I could show my non-tennis-fan friends and impress them with. Wow!!
Prime Nadal vs prime Ferrer. We were happy and we didn't know 🥲

Clay is the best surface to watch imo, because of the long rallies most of the time
Nadal is prime entertainment. He’s always in the best matches of every year
9:10 - "His seventh title..." Rafa was only 25!

Clay tennis is the best form of tennis . It’s total test of skills endurance physical ability and mental strength .
This court is now called Pista Rafa Nadal! What a Legend!
Great highlights! Good quality
Crazy thing is that the set could have easily lasted longer with a harder tiebreak
Brutal.
Ferrer deserves a GS title.
Ferrer being unlucky as hell like all his career, no surprise at all.
Jeeeez what a spectacular match
David ferrer its over infravalorated
2 sets 2 h 40 mins 😂
The ball is bouncing pretty high, but you must admit this is not the slowest clay court you've seen.
Clay has sped up significantly since 2009 or so. If it was as slow as it was 2005-08, Nadal would probably be even more dominant.
@@SJ-di5zu why is that so. I mean why they have speed it up
@@podvig3270 i have same question.. and also, how they speed it up
Yeah but on the other hand hard and ESPECIALLY grass court have become much slower.

imagine Ferrer had Nadal serve, would easily have more slams than Murray
lol no way and it's not like Murray had a great serve and he achieved far more than Ferrer.
