I agree. You can set up an entire wall of snipers and all it takes is one skimmer getting just that little bit too close and your entire base dies. The stun effect is bad enough, but the fact that they also drop creep like eggs if they aren't sniped is just insult to injury. Also they are fast.
It's really nice to have one series that progresses like Dysmantle, & one that's just totally self-contained like Creeper World 4. It's such a good balance that also allows for fun one-off videos of the little gems Tom finds, too.

Skimmers are superior to blobs by an order of magnitude...you can't stop a skimmer, even in death they wreck havoc on those who have shot them down, retribution is always coming, there is not stopping the skimmer wave...Abandon all hope ye who has set your gaze upon them.
Blobs can destroy structures and have twice as much HP as skimmers... however destroyed structures are easily replaced with such energy generation numbers.
Greenar mothers count as structures, so the skimmers will gravitate towards them but be unable to stun them, resulting in them endlessly skimming about.
I made this map whilst getting drunk a couple of weeks ago. TBH i was kinda hoping it might appear in a vid. Stoked he played it and didnt mention the fact i missed a word in the ADA log (it should have said "whatever you do" but i didnt notice until it was uploaded). I only started playing creeper world 4 because of watching Toms videos, so yay

The reason the Skimmers were congregating there was because the game's AI considers the Greenar Mother a human structure even though it is a natural resource. edit: If you set the spores to fire at random structures, they will target the Greenar Mothers if there is nothing else to target.
I have watched other youtubers play creeper world beteeen toms releases but it just isnt the same. Cant tell you how excited i was when i saw this in my notifications
An interesting thing to add to play as creeper is a breeder virus. The virus would slowly convert mesh that it is connected to into more breeder virus and the more virus surrounding a piece of virus the more it produces minimum could be 1 every ten seconds and max could be 1 every second

Did Tom listen to my suggestion of "Skimmers Everywhere" that I made on his last CW4 video. Going by the title... maybe. Lets watch this shit and find out. Ok so... it wasn't my comment it was just sheer dumb luck that he discovered the OP nature of the Skimmer wave. Maybe he will see this one for the future though. Tactics... -Set up generation. Backline emitters -Direct forces with Field Gens -Egg gen or 2 in strategic positions to facilitate waves -SKIMMERS EVERYWHERE Win almost all maps. Oh yeah and if you aren't using erns for anything else they should be down as Emitters. Never have erns that aren't being used. More emitters means more SKIMMERS when you are using these weapons that consume creep. Just to explain... skimmers reposition your creep. The weapons absorb the creep and then release it contained in the skimmers which target structures. Not only that but they also temporarily disable surrounding structures allowing the re positioned creep to inflict max damage. The only thing that you need to consider is anticreep as skimmers will not do so well in it and the re positioned creep may well be destroyed quite quickly. This isn't too much of a worry though as your back line with emitters, field gens and eggs should also be pushing upon disabled turrets.
Tom, i keep seeing you make the same mistake all the time on these PAC maps, not putting down mesh where you should. non-mesh land impedes the flow of creep as it has a natural "resistance". white mesh allows creep to flow over easier, and once it has a value of 1 creep over the 3x3 tile grid, it turns blue which removes all creep flowing resistance, and provides a passive 0.1 creep per second generation on the 3x3 tile. this makes holding territory easier once you have claimed it because it allows creep to stay over the spot preventing it from turning white again, which impedes the flow of creep of entering it. un-meshed land also "removes" creep at a slow rate. so if you do not mesh an area, you are losing creep at a slow rate. so, mesh removes the passive erasing of creep, allows very low creep creation, and allows it to flow over those tiles easier. it makes it much harder for you to lose the area due to the increased flow rate of creep over it. if you want to channel creep for a specific purpose, thats fine, but you really need to mesh a LOT more on these PAC maps.
Mesh does NOT create creeper. That's just nonsense. Then again I've been seeing some 0.0001 creeper values on mesh persist for long times, so idk. Mesh holds quite some creeper which keeps it out of battle. Also, the unmeshed land removing creep only happens because of rounding down to 0 if there's very thin creeper, and is irrelevant in the bigger picture. Meshing everything just means you're delaying your creeper's progress as you're containing it within the mesh.

You pay the price of a tiny smidge of creep now, for the benefit of much faster creep movement from now on? I think that might make it still be worthwhile even if it doesn't generate anything.
