Meanwhile, Charlie is off to Ireland to find out what makes the best foxhound. It’s the Irish Masters of Foxhounds Association’s annual hound show at Stradbally Hall. Deborah investigates why DEFRA is so keen to alienate the countryside by banning gamebird release near European protected areas. The GL43 debacle rumbles on. Our shoot was "promised" a response to our licence application by last Friday. Obviously, we still haven't heard anything. As for releasing in September, that's nuts. Surely, now, when there are few are no cases of HPAI is the time to release birds not a month or two before the migratory birds start to arrive.

We plan to have him as a young handler in the beagle classes next year. The hound is called Raleigh and will do anything for a biscuit. So would Charles.

So the head of BASC is up in arms with DEFRA , but what’s happened to the legal challenge, I’ve not heard of any more news about it , but it makes you think that when Pwackham can stop GLs virtually overnight, why can’t BASC except the same pressure when hundreds of jobs are at risk
