Cracking work on those pigeons by the great Mr Childerly with the .410 👍

TSS shot in .410 is devastating! Increased range as TSS 9 shot is twice the density of lead! Small bores still have a future!

If you’ve never tried shooting while sitting down flat it’s extremely difficult. Great video !! Winchester makes a 3/4 oz #6 shot load that is fantastic !

@mallardcutter7209, the Winchester "steel" .410 load is 3/8 oz Fe6 @1450fps. I still have a case + 3 boxes left. I treat them like Paul does his precious Winchester loads. 😀 Works fine, ≤25m.

So whats the new layvale cartridge ? Is it steel as they already do a bismuth one .
Personally i think a no 6 shot steel will work out to 25 yds possibly 30 with a 16 grm load . And if we are all forced to go tss shot in all cals .then .410 could actually be more affordable than 12b meaning a revival could take place .??

Boss has bismuth in 12, 16, 20, 28 and 410 bore and they have also tungsten.

I’d really hate to see the demise of the 410 - a really useful tool in the right circumstances. How good is Bismuth and what’s the cost?

    • @nwmacguy

@@grahamedwards9920, ~£1.45/ea for Lyalvale, don't miss! Go one size bigger than lead and you should be good.

there is a certain corrupting appeal to a .410 cartridge its attraction is almost ornamental and then the urge to make it work, and use it to bring down actual game. I would even swing my yildiz over and under over mallards loaded with no 6 steel shot. I killed chuckars with mine. one time I took a shot at a sitting pheasant, about 30 yards away and he was on the side of the gravel road and the pattern was bang on I could see pellets hit all around the bird and he just ducked his head for a moment and then raised his head to see where it came from.. I swear the bird almost looked at me like...... " what is your problem??"... but being me, I got him with the second barrel.
I still have two cases of shells left and as soon as I can I am getting an AYA no.2... oh fancy... it has its appeal..

Sorry to be an anti, UK gov's have no business handing out quota's for blue fin whether sporting or commercial this fishery is far to young to be exploited. It must be remembered it is not just the Blue fin, the species is just one part of a scandalously depleted ecosystem that successive governments in spite of warning have quite deliberately ignored the fact that fish stocks are beginning to recover has less to do with government policy and more to do with the collapse of the industry. As far as I am concerned anyone sport fishing for blue fin is just a self absorbed yob. Catch and release really , and just how are these exhausted animals supposed to avoid their own natural predators, we see time and time again predators targeting fishing boats to provide them with an easy meal. Had my rant the 410 always been a favorite with me.

Brilliant 👍 I have only just started shooting, I only have a sub .177 PCP at the moment I'm struggling to shoot crows and rooks but I am doing well on the hares, in 2 weeks I have shot 9, hopefully once I gain my rifle license I can buy PCP rifles to shoot 50+ ftlbs

    • @KolyaNickD

You shouldn't be shooting hares with an air rifle let alone admitting it to anyone.
