  • How to use your Paclktalk Slim as a "Bluetooth Intercom" on the times when you have NO OTHER OPTION (no other DMC headset to pair to). DMC Mode is far better tech, but if riding with non-DMC headsets, sometimes you'll have to do this.

    Hi, thanks so much for the effort you’ve put into your videos to explain some fairly complex relationships these systems have. I have a question i dont think you’ve answered if you’ll indulge me? Say there are 3 riders out together, one has cardo, one sena, one SCS . either all have the ability to pair to 2 phones or all have mesh with bridge or all have bluetooth with universal, but they still cant be in a group chat with all 3 devices Because you would need one of the devices to act as the “host” and be able to include both devices from other brands, and none of them do this?

    Helpful video - one question though...when i connect my phone in device slot A (for music and calls mainly), my bikes sat nav unit in device slot B (for gps instructions), and my two buddies on slots A & B on bluetooth intercom (they have the old Q3s), for some reason my headset has trouble connecting the lot - seems to want to play me music or gps instructions, or intercom chat. Whats the best way to achieve music playing through the phone and instructions through the nav at the same time as using intercom to speak/receive intercom tranmissions over the top of it (assuming some sort of priority order)? I bought the packtalk slim because it suggested that volume dimming of lower priority channels when transmissions were coming from higher priority ones was possible? Any help would be greatly appreciated :) Thanks

    Hello there, I'm not sure if you're answering any questions but I was hoping you could help me out with a connection question that I have.
    At the moment I have my Cardo PTB paired with my phone as your great video's instruct and it works perfectly.
    I have just bought a 2020 Africa Twin and the manual says to, first pair my phone the display, and then pair my Cardo PTB to the display as well. Firstly, should I erase my current bluetooth device pairing and follow the instructions and pair the Cardo PTB with the display in bluetooth channel 1? The issue with this is, that if I get on another bike I won't be paired with my phone.
    If I paired the display in bluetooth ch 1 and my phone in ch 2 would the display take precedence over my phone so I could still be paired if I was not on the Africa Twin?
    If I have my phone paired with the display, my Cardo PTB paired with the display and my phone and PTB paired could this cause some Bermuda Triangle of intercom pain?
    I hope you can help as I haven't been able to find any advice on this. Only complaints that their units don't work properly, probably because they haven't paired their devices correctly.

    Great video, again. I have learned so much from all your videos.
    Did you notice the "Add new passenger" in DMC mode (top right corner) in the updated app version?

    • @MotoGeekFreak
      @MotoGeekFreak  Před 4 lety

      Thanks! Yes I noticed and was completely confused at first to be honest (the name "Add new passenger" doesn't seem to be the best description). It allows you to pair directly to a Bluetooth headset (Cardo or Non-Cardo...either one) without having to switch the Packtalk over to "Bluetooth Intercom Mode" first in order to then use the "DMC Bridge" feature (lets the Bluetooth headset into the DMC conversation). It's actually a really nice shortcut...just wish it had a different, more applicable name?

    Is it possible to music share between different generations of units? I have a smart pack and a q3 and although intercom works I can’t seem to get music sharing to. Worked fine between both q3 units before I busted one of them. Cheers for informative videos😊

    Hi we have the recent upgrade of software Cardo Packtalk. Which gives option of sharing music with partner in DMC mode. Wish you can make a video on explaining the following :
    1. Two partners riding with Cardo Packtalks & want to share music 🎶. How do we toggle sharing music On / Off
    2. If have this rider on “DMC Mesh “ & don’t want to talk with him . How do I get disconnected on the fly ? And reconnect the conversation !
    Same in Bluetooth mode how do I end my connection with partner and just hear my music .

    I have a 2018 Honda Gold Wing and having difficulty with intercom with my wife using the CARDO PackTalk Bold units. I have the units each paired to the Gold Wing. I believe that I have the two helmets paired to each other. I have a Garmin XT paired to my helmet as well one the other channel and am using DMC Mode on both CARDO units. I commute with other riders with a CB Radio through the Gold Wing. Any help would be appreciated.

    Was anyone able to install the Cardo Packtalk Slim communicator on the HJC F70 helmet ?
    What about this special Sena compartment at the rear of the helmet, can Cardo somehow fit over/in it?
    The helmet is not listed on the Cardo site under helmets comparability, but I wonder if anyone in the real world did it...

    I own two Cardo's ... PackTalk and PackTalk Bold. I have a 2016 Honda Goldwing with a CB integrated system which hardwires to our helmets. I want to integrate the CB and cut out the wired tethers. Sena has come up with CONVERTER CB to Bluetooth called "Freewire". Can this system be adapted to the CB on the Goldwing using the Cardo's?

    • @MotoGeekFreak

      The Sena one won’t work with the Cardos (you’ll be able to hear, but won’t be able to talk = no good). BUT, J&M makes something very similar/better called the “blue box” (or something very similar to that name) which does exactly what you’re talking about. Hope that helps and good luck!

    Is it possible to share music between two paired packtalks?

    • @MotoGeekFreak
      @MotoGeekFreak  Před 4 lety +1

      I learned today of new firmware v5.6 for Packtalk that allows music sharing while in DMC Intercom Mode! Here's how:
      -Update to the latest firmware
      -Go over to "Bluetooth Intercom Mode" on both headsets
      -Pair the two headsets together while in "Bluetooth Intercom Mode". I paired mine together on "Channel A"
      -Go back to "DMC Intercom Mode"
      -Play some music on your Packtalk, and use either the Cardo Connect app to share that music with your passenger, OR, while the music is playing, hold the "Intercom" button for 2 seconds then let go.... you'll hear "music share activated" and should be good to go. Hope that helps and good luck!

    Hello, could you explain "Parallel audio
    streaming in Bluetooth mode"?

    • @MotoGeekFreak
      @MotoGeekFreak  Před 4 lety +1

      @Zo Hong From my understanding, when using a Packtalk Slim in "Bluetooth Intercom Mode", you can only do Parallel Audio Streaming if you're using an Android phone (or at least a non-iOS phone). Parallel Audio Streaming is do-able from any phone/connection when using the Slim in "DMC Intercom Mode", just not in "Bluetooth Intercom Mode"....no idea why! Oh, and Parallel Audio Streaming just means that you can talk via intercom and listen to your music at the same time. Hope that helps!

    • @ZoHong

      @@MotoGeekFreak Thanks for your reply. Recently I use the Slim "Bluetooth Intercom Mode" connect with another rider who use non cardo system to do some test.
      While Bluetooth Intercom Mode, both rider are not able to listen phone's navigation app guiding, kind of inconvenient.
      If use the Slim "DMC Intercom Mode" bridge non cardo system the signal quality is poor.
