- Hi y'all :-) If you've been here with my from the very beginning, you know that I've been thinking about making a video like this for over 4 years, but I've always been too scared. Scared I would get the facts wrong, scared people would be offended, scared I'd get more dislikes than anything, scared my tips wouldn't be helpful... but I decided to push past all of that and just make the video! So here's to those of you who told me that you wanted to see this 4 years ago! I also decided to whip out my amateur acting skills and had so much fun with the little intro skit LOL

That is one wat of looking at it. However most state i hear couple of times... i dont know to smile. I knew from a point that smiles is genuinely from the eyes but this is much educational. Thanks for sharing. 🇧🇪
Yep. Just recently realized I don't smile a lot and that affects my interactions with others. Also my face literally strains when I have to smile. The sensation feels weird in my muscles.
I came here cause... In the last years I hate how I come in photos... I looked at my pictures from years ago and did try to smile like that... I couldn't... I can't do it. I used to be so sweet and natural... Now my smile it's forced and.... Ugly and makes me look ugly or I see myself like so.... And took a moment and asked myself "who stole my smile that I can't have it anymore??"......

She is the one who taught me how to smile when taking pictures back in 2014. Was it Koba(??) the 순두부 restaurant. It was so awkward and shy for me to smile on camera because Koreans are not used to, but Katrina and Tania always made me genuinely smile on camera. By the time I left, I was no longer shy ☺️ and actually I had a presentation in college about how I have been changed in many ways through studying abroad , and I cut in some pictures to show how my smile have changed. It’s ALL thanks to Katrina. Thank you Kat and Miss you so much

I'm a cosplayer, and for whatever reason whenever I try to take a picture where I'm smiling in cosplay, I get this awkward "deer-in-the-headlights" sort of look, which is especially frustrating because I really enjoy cosplaying bubby, cheerful characters. Thanks for the tips, they seem like they'll really help to practice my smile for photos!

I have the same problem. Something I have found works is getting someone that makes you laugh to take the photos. Ive gotten amazing natural photos since I started doing that

every time I watch your vids, I always thought that you have the most genuine and contagious smile :') I looked back at my pics and started smiling at myself in the mirror for the past few years and those are definitely tried and true methods LOL. everything in this vid is on point!

Your smile has to be genuine period. When I fake a smile in pictures, I always look distorted and bad.
I was smiling the whole time throughout this video and my face hurts lmao, but on a serious note I have braces and it makes me insecure abt my smile every time. Most of all...my friends make fun of me, when I show my teeth bc of braces but this video helped me a lot to overcome it! thank you so much

I really want to try and change my smile. I do actually have a very duchene smile, but I want to change it up to look prettier. I use the right muscles, but squeeze my eyes way too much, causing closed eyes and extreme wrinkling around the eyes. So I will use your tips to try to keep my eyes open when smiling. During your video I already found out that my smile changed after childhood, making my eyes wrinkly (only when smiling) and my cheeks seem to have lost there natural dimple in my new, uglier smile. So I just need to reinvent my old smile!

For some odd reason when I smile for pictures, especially birthday pictures, I often twitch around my eye area. Thus, making my eyes and smile look awkward.

I'm very insecure about my smile, my friends told me my smile is fake so many times they thought I'm so attitude....I try my best but I'm so insecure about my shape of my face , I have round face but my chin is kinda a long when it expand, basically I felt so ugly.,🤧
Aww I’m sorry that they said that and made you feel more insecure. Personally, I feel like when I see someone smiling genuinely, all I can see is the authentic joy on their face rather than focusing on their features. We are definitely the most critical of ourselves! 💛😭

I am insecure about my looks in picture. I don't know why I feel like I look pretty in the mirror and selfies but when it comes to back camera pictures and video calls, I don't feel pretty... specially my smile and eyes looks different than the mirror, selfies and real life...I don't know what to do about this...🙂.
OMG thank you😄 I learned one thing immediately and that is to notice how my muscles feel when I smile/laugh genuine. For instance the muscles at the very end of my eyelids must be relaxed.

aww I hope you can embrace your dimples and smile! My face shape also makes my face look bigger, esp. in certain angles.. but hopefully you can find an angle that makes you feel good! Also, having a bigger face isn't bad either! I think the most important thing is that you feel and look joyful - your smile will shine brighter than anything else

I hv to big dimples in my cheeks but in photos when i am smiling my face become big and very round 😣😞i am depressed with it
My face also looks rounder when I smile :) you can also focus on angling yourself in your favorite way! I like my left side best so if you see in this video and most of my pics, I’m always showing the left side of my face. 😊
I hope that you can grow to like it.. I think the most beautiful part of a smile is when it’s genuine and shows that you’re feeling joy 😄 and that may mean that we look a bit rounder… but it’s ok :)💞

Mine too! But I think it’s also a marker of genuine joy :) maybe turning/angling your face to the side can help a bit
I’m such an awkward turtle when other people take photos of me but I can do legit photo shoots just fine o___O I need to work on group photos more and when my friends or family take pics of me cuz I’m always awkward with those kinda photos if it makes sense
