- Easter week is proving to be a great time for Nanny and Moosie….visits with family and fun events. Nanny also decided to add some video clips of last year’s HAT EXTRAVAGANZA in Nanny’s collection. I enjoyed your hat stories so much! As a teenager in the 60s I wore Pillboxes as my idol was Jackie Kennedy. My favorite hat memory, though was of my mother. We’d been going down the escalator at JL Hudson in Detroit when she saw The Hat: a wide-brimmed, high-crown number in leopard fur with a red satin lining. The budget went out the window, out came the plastic! She wore that hat until her 4th baby claimed it as his “kitty.” Great memories❤

The last time I wore a hat ,way back in 1963,I was a fat, cat eye eyeglasses,wearing,10 year old, & hated that hat on me!!! Lol! Now that im 70, maybe I should try a hat again! I think not though!!! Lol!!

I love your hats! Especially the one your Mom made....Gorgeous! I actually did like that bronzy-brown hat with your jacket! It brough out the amber colored flowers in the jacket that I really didn't even notice until you put on that particular hat!! Who knew!! Love all your hats and attire / outfits. My wedding hat and veil were similar to what your mother made but minus the ruffled trim. Mine was more of a Jackie-O Pill box......I made it with buckram and heavy felt and covered it with the Spanish lace that I also made my wedding coat with.........very airy and flowing floor length over a sheath of white rayon/poly fully lines. On the coat I also sewed 1200 seed pearls and with the thread I pulled a long dark piece of hair at my age of 20 and sewed it along with the thread thru the pearls for keepsake. So I guess I may have some of my DNA from age 20 still in the coat these 57 years later. LOL Truly however, I do love all your videos Nanny and your outfits and mine of those days were very similar. And.....yes always an easter bonnet and gloves and handbag with heels. Not these days however. Those were the days!!!

Easter Blessings Nanny and Moose I can’t part with my hats yet as still getting over gifting my lovely high heels in their box’s 🙈as shortly I’ll be 87 and balance not great but we’ll keep moving and Thank God our Blessings are more than our problems As had lovely dinner with family in my Daughter-in -Laws ❤❤ 🐣🐣

Could you do a whole video of a family fashion show from over the years. Did you wear mini’s and hot pants in the 1960’s? Or culottes in the 1970’s??
Yes, my friend, I was always right there to hop on the band wagon with every new fashion fad when it came out….the hot pants, mini skirts, thigh high boots, maxi coats, …chemise dresses, crinolines and felt circle skirts,etc..I could make (sew) a lot of these things myself, too…my hair darkened a bit as I grew older from light to dirty blonde…but I started the lemon juice, peroxide, then hair lighteners to keep it light…oh…the good old days😂😘❤️

Just another crazy idea: How about putting a coyote proof metal net over the roof of the patio with the arbor entrance. And let the jasmin or something lighter nest on the roof. Also metal net on open spaces around the patio. (Can not recall what it looks like on the sides.) -You would have shade. A safe outdoor space for Shamu. And a good place for the cat litter box.. And an extra room to your house.
You could go all out and have a patio door built into the wall off the house.
That all sounds wonderful…and very dreamy …I’ve thought about this,too..but I think impossible due to the placement of the patio, FERNIE….thanks for commenting.❤️

❓❓❓❓❓👒🎩🪖⛑👒👒👒 Nanny, I was eating my Easter egg salad, and you popped up with this beautiful Easter video with your hats! I have to tell you you will get a kick out of this. My husband and I went to 10 AM Easter service with our youngest son and his wife and three little ones 710 and 12-year-olds, and on the way there about 20 minute drive I was telling my husband about nanny and her three daughters and their hat collections. I said you know since we’re not going to our home church this morning I actually could’ve worn a hat and felt comfortable in it since no one there knows me but our kids ha ha and that’s exactly what you were talking about on your video.
my husband said oh I love those at the big beautiful horse races when the women wear the large brim and I said oh that’s the kind nanny likes now some of her all three of her daughters have a great collection also and they have some nice western, and my husband perked up about that because he is a western. He’s a cowboy, Oklahoma cowboy and has horses. That he actually rides not just feeds ha ha.
thank you for the encouragement about wearing one in the garden first and then I will be addicted to them and I am definitely now that I’m retired. Going to take your advice about that. It’s a great time because I just had my second total reverse shoulder replacement, and I cannot do my hair very well that’s shoulder length with one hand, one arm, so it’s a great time to start wearing hats, right? 😘

Hi from Annie Happy Easter to you all. You look wonderful in all those clothings and hats too.....The weather here in Adelaide is very warm was 31 deg on Sat n Sunday they say it is the hottest easter Sudan in 73yrsit is amazing and the nights were about 18deg but humid.Normally we don't have easter till April first week. This year it is early adit had to be nearest to the full moon. It is also a leap year too. It would be very exciting seeing all the family for celebrations.
