It was a miracle. Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania, among others, were liberated. Ukraine finally got independence for the first time in its existence. The collapse of the Soviet Union was one of the most wonderful things to happen.

The only interesting thing I got out of this was from around 11:00 onwards. "All of a sudden the Soviet union starts going to shit, and you could see it! I lived in Russia and I love it, but the memory difference is extreme between Russia/Belarus and everyone else. The Baltic states aren't Russia. They were invaded in 1939, being occupied by the Soviets, NAZIS and Soviets.

An experienced CIA guy might have a better insight than most journalists.
I've done actual research on the historical cause of this mess and this guy is full of it. Putin-bashing isn't going to solve the problem. Proper diplomacy might but we're so used to being the bully in the block we've forgotten diplomacy. Even the Ukrainians want us to engage, but we refuse.
