- I’m not sure how this even happened but I was on one of my regular routes when I noticed a piece of the trailer rooftop went flying off.

I remember my CDL instructor telling me a story about hitting a bridge in NY. This happened after they repaved the road. They added too many layers of asphalt which reduced the clearance forcing the accident. There were no clearance signs, and from what they teach us those are 14' and above, which makes it Gucci...except for that one time. He didn't get in trouble either as it was the state's fault. There was cereal all over the highway though. 😄
Also, aluminum is a metal, it's just a non-ferrous metal. Depending on the use of the trailer, the ribs can be made from galvanized steel, aluminum, or some other metal composite. The walls and roof are usually aluminum for weight savings. As for the top, yeah, they probably damaged the roof with the forklift...and the bridge finished it off. Those forklift rails are dense as hell, and can do some wicked damage if they hit something as pliable as aluminum.
@@SolarWraith That’s a crazy story and that’s very well what could had happened in this situation, but they found out who was responsible I just happen to be the one to haul the trailer after they damaged it without reporting it. But it definitely made me more cautious around bridges none the less.
