To help get rid of the bitter flavor of Kale in smoothies, add some fresh or unpasteurized orange juice. The strong flavor of the citrus and the strong flavor of the kale wash each other out. The nutritional values of both remain unchanged. Have a great day.!

You are so brave digging up those plants! We have planted some cat mint which looked a bit scraggly before things began to warm up here. Next year I'll know to dig them up and clean them. Thanks for the tip on baby's breath, too.
I never thought too much of geraniums until when in a shop one day I saw a bush they had made of pink geranium it was beautiful shaped like a topiary with a small bunch at the top and a larger bunch at the base in a large pot. Very unique. I do like the standard red geranium hanging pot too. A small town near me has many of them hanging to decorate the main street and have a worker using a golf cart outfitted with a water tank they use to water them...ha. The lengths we'll go to to prettify our little patches. It does help keep one sane I'll admit. Cheers!

If you get tired of coming up with voiceover scripts why not pull some ideas/stories from your viewers' comments (not mine especially, but there are many others here that are great jumping off points, imho). Just a quick thought I had after I wrote my little note.
Love your Friday videos…super inspirational. I am on the “bandwagon” now to promote using garden knee pads. I saw your bare knees and thought “ouch”. I am suffering with two bad knees and know kneeing for me is painful…knee pads help and protect your knees and pants
Also mulch will help in your garden beds to cover up drip lines and cut down on weeds plus it looks nice

Lol, I’m looking at the baby’s tears that you’re trying to get rid of with envy! I can’t keep them alive. We live in Adelaide in South Australia and its both too hot here and too dry, which makes it a challenge to keep ferns and baby’s tears going throughout summer. I’m living in the wrong state for the kind of garden I enjoy 😄

Randi not sure if you will see this but I felt the need to share this funny story. My 9 year old son and myself were leaving the supermarket and talking about youtubers we watch. I mentioned one that I was going to stop following and my son said " wait not Randi right." I said "Oh no its a newer one I just started watching". I love work outside and refresh. I’m excited for my secret garden behind my house and will plants of succulents everywhere and put bricks on the floor with 2 chairs and a table for my quiet time do reading or chat with my husband or friend.😊
@hidetagge5776 I have always wanted a secret garden! Sadly, I live in deer country and they don't keep secrets, lol. My husband has gotten his hands on some 9' high tennis court fencing though, so the dream may become a reality!

My indoor plants always suffer because I forget to water them. If I didn’t have automatic irrigation I wouldn’t be able to keep anything alive. 😂

A friend gave me a brilliant tip.Use the waste water from a condenser tumble dryer on your windows and mirrors.I tried it and it leaves them sparkling.Ive no idea of the science behind it.Great video Randi have a lovely weekend 🍀
I can't wait to start on the yard and back deck either. It has been in the 40s most days but we have gotten a little snow overnight. The deck is cleared but probably another 4 to 5 days before the snow is gone off the roof. We have gutters but when your roof is covered in several feet of hard pack snow and it starts to melt you often get more water than the gutters can handle so you get water. The yard still has a foot or more in snow so it will probably be end of month before we can get to the deck furniture which is stored in greenhouse.
The trick to dishwasher unloading (beyond decluttering) is to keep your dishes, especially those used daily, in the cabinets closer to your dishwasher. One or two steps from the side that you unload from. Makes a huge difference.

Hey Randi! I'm in North Carolina and have been following you a couple years. I find your videos relaxing (especially the music you use) and have always watched them as I rested before bed each evening, on my TV. Well after a 32-year career in the Fire Service, I've retired and today I looked you up on the computer so I could ask a couple questions. My husband and I like to eat as you and your husband do and now with me retired, I have the time to better prepare and store foods like you do! Can you please tell me - where do you get the glass dishes you store your cut up vegetables in and what type of pots and pans are you using? I love your fur babies and Callie (my daughter's name) is my favorite. Her eyes...are so expressive. Thank you for the many wonderful videos and your commitment to share your life with us. You are making a difference and encouraging those of us who just need a nudge in the right direction each week!
Here's what I do with kale. I use the entire leaf chopped horizontally so the stem is bite sized. If I have fresh that I won't be using up fast enough I will just put the bag in the freezer. It freezes very nicely and it is easy to add a handful or two to whatever hot item I am eating (really anything here: soup, stew, stir fry). My favorite is to have seasoned kale with rice and beans. It is filling, satisfying, and high in nutrition. It tastes so yummy I never get bored of it. Which is saying a lot as I prefer VARIETY over everything.
I season the steamed kale by tossing it with a tiny drizzle of EVOO, lemon juice, garlic granules, onion granules, and S&P to taste. As to the beans, I like simmering cooked beans with Jamaican Jerk seasoning, onions and a bit of lemon juice but have recently tried a chili powder and onion mixture --- just something a little extra to perk up any plain cooked beans. The lemon in the greens helps with our bodies accessing the iron in the beans.
