- EWN's Clement Manyathela sat down for an exclusive interview with Bathabile Dlamini - one day after her resignation as a member of parliament. Here she spoke the negative reports about her has impacted her family.

i have an epilectic sibling and am noticing something in this clip...my brother became epileptic after an injury on the head at 16 yrs of age...i was much younger than him and we had to be taught how to look after him. Epilepsy is a very tricky condition because it attacks the nervous system and the drugs prescribed for it have confusing side effects , contraindications and so forth and so forth...everytime an epileptic attack takes place, it takes a toll on the individual's nervous system and really they do appear as if they drunk whereas they not...a lot of education and information has to be done on the issue of epilepsy. It is a serious condition and should never be taken lightly. And before a person has an epileptic fit, they do seem to be drunk as the nerves cease to function at their best. That is my two cents!
Wife has epilepsy so I agree with that.
Hers last a minute and she feels exhausted after and can appear drunk or tired prior to an attack.
@@Boutit031 i know i have firsthand experience in dealing / helping an epileptic family member...but fortunately we got counselling as to how to look after an epileptic individual. Furthermore i took the time to educate myself further on the condition and knowledge and acceptance makes it almost a walk in the park in managing the condition.

Let us not be too quick to judge , condemn and label... i had to learn about epilepsy way back in the 80s...and at that time it was such a disgrace and people would whisper and avoid being around you due to lack of knowledge.

I have had 2 strokes and i am epileptic and i drink 750 mg redilev twice daily but nobody ever called me out for being drunk or a drunkard! Place your docters report plus your prescripion for medication and we will believe you, maybe!
I actually believed you drink because you never came out and refuted those claims. I have a friend who is epileptic, he is a doctor. I don't take epilepsy lightly. It is a manageable condition though. Maybe if we can know how your epilepsy came about we might understand you better. Maybe feeling that you are incompetent might b explained by it as well ;)

And Epileptic Medication is no joke , You CAN'T think correctly with that medication ... It mentally affects a person and causes SEVERE memory loss .
