      Its a Yamaha xt125, it sits alot lower on the suzuki frame than the Yamaha one it came from, bit suspicious of the abilty to do its job properly so may need to adjust some how, was a cheap ebay buy so nothing lost😁

      And i would reccomend getting that top mount welded as that bolt wont be strong enough having so much load on it

    are most swing arms universal with others? I am asking. Because, i have a 1971 Yamaha trail bike. And i am looking into extending the swing arm slightly. What swing arm from what bike fit on your project? Thanks!

    So if I want to convert a GS 150 (Cruiser) to a scrambler, which shock should would you recommend? and how would one figure it out the lean angle on the shock?

    • @ghassankhan3856
      @ghassankhan3856 Před 5 lety

      Would the vector be from the rear wheel's point of contact to the base of the fuel tank? And we'll consider the front wheel?

    • @ghassankhan3856
      @ghassankhan3856 Před 5 lety

      Cafe racers have a squatted position here, so the shock is highly tilted towards the steering column. Mine would be more taller I guess.

      Im in the process of re doing the monoshock mounting point, the angle wasnt strong enough to support weight, ive tested the angle and brought it closer to the rear, i tested it by holding it into place with a rod and roughly fitting it in, then bounced up and down on it and the suspension was far better

      @@treadlife850 Hey,
      Is there any specific angle to place monoshock?

    If I want to install monoshock then would be the standard angle of any monoshock ?

    • @treadlife850
      @treadlife850  Před 5 lety

      It would depend on a lot of things, the placement of the swing arm's monoshock, the length of the monoshock and the personal preference of the height, I would suggest trial and error, temporarily fix a point and see how you get on

    wish people would stop destroying good bikes to make cafe racers, indecently the rear spring should be more upright and the top mount should be in line with the damper so stress in not an issue, there is far too much compression on that spring, I hope you return this bike to what it was, a great little green lane twin shock bike, as it is its awful, riveting because you don't have welding equipment by any chance, I also assume this is why you weakened the frame to the point it will fold up on you by drilling that huge hole in the frame, yes it's a frame not a pipe. find something else to do is my advice, computers or playing an instrument maybe.

    I pray you never got this on the road. Talk about jump in head first, this is a lot of mods for an amateur and you'd be lucky if you got insurance. Small mods add up and you know after each one the bikes in working order. Im not against any amateur doing their own mods but know your boundries. Good luck to you!
