I can't express his point about the ducks seeing you don't be afraid to put a roof on your blind even 1 extra roll of camo net goes a long way of making you look not human...every body thinks blinds are to make you look like a stump or brush pile but in reality it's to make you look less human
💯! Thanks for watching
The calling point is 100% accurate! Any more I don’t call at all past thanksgiving. I just let the motion do the work.
Thanks for the advice, I’ve never been duck hunting before, I think I’m going to try it this fall in Michigan. I’ll be sure to remember your tips!
Thanks for watching! Good luck to you!
Just found your channel on my feed thanks for the great info and good luck this season
Hey glad you found it! Thanks for watching and thanks for the support
New duck hunter in the PNW. Great advice. Appreciate the share!
Hey man I appreciate you watching!!
Im going be going duck hunting in a day and honestly this was a great video, especially with the passing shots, the sky bursting advice and getting in too close to another group
I appreciate that! Thanks for watching, good luck this season!
The whistle is a true game changer. I hunt a lot of managed units, I will often just rip a whistle and rock a smaller set up with jerk rig and I get lots of birds to come in
Extremely effective
A lot of good points made in this video!
I appreciate it bud! Thanks for watching!
How the hell are the ducks seeing me if I'm wearing Sitka?!?!
That’s a really good question!! 😂😂
Duh, you’re obviously wearing the wrong pattern Sitka. Clearly the solution is buying more.
🤣🤣
All great information and from experience I say all 💯 correct, good luck everyone
Thanks for watching
Great advice!!! Rule number 1 was my favorite. I’ve had friends do the same shit to me. That’s why I just hunt alone now
Same here!!!
I'm right there with you. One or two trusted friends or alone. I've been burnt too many times.
Me too man!!
We hunt part of a river that only a few ppl knew about, then about 6 yrs ago some thought it would be a great idea to guide some hunts make a few bucks. Now all those ppl and there friends figured out they don't need to pay that guide and the river became stacked. If you not there 2-3 hours before shooting light, have fun finding a spot.
That’s terrible
Good stuff.
Great tips thanks
Thanks for watching
Good video, buddy. Thanks
Thanks for watching
Awesome video!!!
Thanks for watching bud!!
Great info thanks
Thanks for watching
Hey man your the new bobby guy in my book. Keep doing what your doing!
Hey man I really appreciate you saying that!! I hope I can get to that point one day!! Tell your buddies about the channel maybe they will check me out I really appreciate my subscribers and the support I get from y’all man it keeps me going!!!
Hehe...the new Bobby Guy.
🤣🤣🤣 funny right!!
Solid video for a newbie such as my self
Glad I could help! Thanks for watching!
We blindfolded new hunters we took out to our wood duck spot. I used to take my buddies little brother hunting to get access to his spot. Never went without permission!
🤣🤣🤣
Amen to #5!!!!!!
Well done!
Thanks for watching!
Your last point about crowding hits home. I'd like to see more people talking about hunter etiquette when it comes to walk in vs boat hunting in public areas. Seems like boats will go out of there way to cut you off and control the pool
That’s true, that would be a good video topic
This video should be required for getting a hunting license. Consideration is huge.
I appreciate that! Thanks for watching!
Yeah man good vid
Thanks, and thanks for watching!
Enjoyed the video
Thanks for watching!
Spot on brother I think sometimes we're our own worst enemy
Absolutely!
With the advent of amazingly realistic decoys and mojos calling isn't necessarily even needed
This info should be used in hunter safety classes and passed on every year with hunting license renewals.
Whoa! Hey I really appreciate you saying that!!
On number 2, i usually just use give 2 or 3 quack’s and it worked for me all last season, most bird’s i have ever killed were because if that lil tip😂
For sure!!
One mistake is setting the blind straight upwind of the decoys so the ducks coming in are looking straight towards the blind. By placing the blind crosswind to the decoys, the ducks are not looking straight at the blind as the ducks are coming in against the wind.
Second mistake is watching ducks land on the "X" and hesitating moving to the "X"
Third mistake shooting the easiest bird first instead of leaving that bird for the second kill after taking another bird.
Fourth mistake not wearing hearing protection.
Fifth mistake not shedding layers to minimize sweat walking in.
Very true
Great tips! Everyone that hunts public has probably had an issue with someone setting up too close. I can't tell you how many times I have been set up in a spot to have a group move on in right at shooting light or a little before. I'm always cordial to get the conversation started, but I can't tell you how many times I've heard, "It's public land. I can hunt where I want to". This can be avoided with some common sense and courtesy.
Exactly!! I try to do the same but there is always that one guy that wants to be a jerk! Thanks for watching!
Where I hunt is a marsh right next to public and people crowd that fly line heavy and sky blast. I find dead birds all off season that were crippled, sucks to see.
Yea that sucks when other hunters can’t discipline themselves to take good shots.. the joys of some public land hunters..
Awesome video. But sometimes like around from where I’m from you can’t get far enough away from someone to where you can’t see their lights. I’ve been at the marsh at 3 am first/second guy in the marsh all the way in. The back as far from that trucks as you can get and you can literally watch the guys and their lights get out of the truck and walk around the whole marsh to find a spot. It’s a sad reality from where I’m from but that last one is hard to do when you got small public land and a large population of hunters
That’s true, that’s sucks but unfortunately that’s how it can be on public land
@@BlackBeltWaterfowl yeah very true. Had a guy walk in through my spread and set up in a hole behind me wasn’t too and it was a busy day and I’ve had guy hunt there before when I was hunting but when shooting light came those same guys that walked in THROUGH MY SPREAD were yelling at me that I was too close. 😂😂 I just laughed at them and told them F off
There always seems to be that one guy or group that wants to act like that..
Your absolutte right
I tried to make some valid points! Thanks for watching! Don’t forget to subscribe if you haven’t already!!
If the feet and down...don't shoot...yessir
I love the “don’t set up too close” tip. Last year we hunted a spot and these guys were maybe 300 yards from us. We limited on woodies and left. Next week we set up in same spot…these guys walked in after us while we are shining them and sat 75 yards from us and sky blasted everything that flew by. We shot 3 that day between the 5 of us
Ridiculous man! It sucks but there is always those type of people on public land!!
Happened to me last year too twice.🤦🏽
Just what comes along with public land hunting unfortunately!
300 yrds? I wish I was you. I've had people set 20yrds away from me on multiple occasions. I can hear them talk.
Right on share that public land. Lots of space out there to hunt dont need to be sharing a spread.
Exactly!! Thanks for watching bud! Don’t forget to subscribe if you haven’t already!
@@BlackBeltWaterfowl keep the videos coming.
Every Wednesday at 10am cst
The concealment comment. Yes. Yes. Yes!!!!!!
Also the machine gun feed call. Sounds great in the buss in Stuttgart but NOT the way to go in the real world.
And man, you know what you are talking about, you need to get in touch with someone here in East Arkansas and start building some relationships, you got the waterfowling the right way mindset down sir!
I'm not old but I'm a bit of a vet when it comes to chasing them in the White/Cache bottoms and you are absolutely thinking about things the right way.
I appreciate you saying that, I’m not sure if you have seen the chasing green channel, but Jake and I are really good friends and I hunt Arkansas with him and a few other states as well
@@BlackBeltWaterfowl I have seen the channel, have not watched that I recall. But I will check it out for sure!
Ok cool, I was just saying that my east Arkansas contact lol well he is kinda NE I guess he lives around the Jonesboro area but hunts all over the state
@@BlackBeltWaterfowl My wife is from that area. Excellent hunting up there for sure.
We are a bit further south, a little east of the Stuttgart area.
Limits to you this season sir!!!
You too!!
unfortunately where i hunt crowding is just something that you cant avoid its the only public hunting area for at least 90 miles around it and the rule of thumb there is atleast 200 yards apart and even doing that opening day will completely fill the marsh.
Wow that’s unfortunate!
If I'm on public and there's other duck Hunters within a couple hundred yards I won't bother calling because if gunshots are going off those Ducks aren't listening for it cuz they are nervous themselves I've had better luck doing that than trying to call
Your right, I’ve done that myself. Thanks for watching!
Dad always told me, if you can see them they can see you.
That’s right
I always believe 3 passing the 4th you better shot because they don't like something
Your exactly right, if they don’t commit on the 3rd, if they pass again you better shoot bc they are about to leave
Get you a good dog and it’ll help with #4
Hey how you been doing I'm still down here in mobile one day when I find a lease in louisiana you gonna have to come make some hunts with me
Will do buddy!!! I’m been doing real good! If your able to this Friday at 7pm we are gonna be live on the Magnolia Flyways channel and we are gonna have Jake from the Chasing green CZcams channel on there with us! It’s gonna be a good one tune in if you can bud!
Sure will bud have a good one
To close man you are right press the point please most of the time it’s the guys that can’t kill the birds because they are always sky Buster and too lazy to carry decoys out they shoot off your spread on the swing Or they just wanna go out and shoot your gun
Very very true way to many of those types on public land these days
Do you practice martial arts too? I train bjj , I saw black belt and I had to ask lol
No it’s the geographical location of where I live, it’s called the Blackbelt region
@@BlackBeltWaterfowl oh ok cool !
Maybe it’s just me but number 1 never bothered me. If I tale someone out it’s because I trust them and expect them to want to go back. And we have always coordinated spots if we aren’t out hunting together.
The close friends I have to hunt we are all about killin ducks no matter who is doing the killin. Lol But that’s just us.
That’s good to have friends like that, but there are some people who are just out to want to know where you hunt lol
If I can hear you talking and laughing, your to close.
Exactly
I hate people that sky bust and scream call at the ducks. And using way too many decoys.
💯
Top mistakes new hunters make:
*buying a 200dollar call when theyre a 2dollar caller. Place decoys and sit quietly. Most new hunters will do better not calling at all.
*buying too much crap. All you need is waders, a cople dozen decoys, and camo of any kind that blends in thier environment
*spending too much time hunting, not enough scouting. In a well oiled machine you should scout an hour per hour of hunting.
All true points, thanks for watching

I dont fully agree with number 5. Its public lands and not everyone can be there first thing in the morning. You should be respectful of others but everyones lives are different and some guy getting there an hour after shooting light might be his only option. Dont leave out people that dont have ideal circumstances. If i see someone coming in im probably gonna offer to have them join the party if we can.
Exactly, my point being geared towards if you want a particular spot be early.. thanks for watching
Nobody owns public land..... If I want to hunt it, that's what I'm doing.
👍🏼
