Too bad she only had ONE lamb!!! ugh. Timing can be the most frustrating part of lambing. This week I had SO MANY multiples born that I could have fostered, but once they are trained on the machine or bottle, I tend to not try to put them back on a mom.
And Murphy's Law, a few hours later, we THEN got our set of triplets.
One good thing is I was able to stockpile ONE LITRE of fresh colostrum from our well endowed mama so I had lots to help supplement the new neighbours.

I’m a dog breeder and last night we had puppies born.
I was thinking about you and your midwife skills and saying to myself “ well if she can do this for days and days at a time I can do it for one night. “
And of course I said “ good morning “to each puppy when they came into the world

Sandi smiled as she opened the barn door,
A new voice was calling,
A new lamb on the floor.
She pulled out her camera, had a quick coffee sip,
Then rolled up her sleeves and
grabbed her lamb kit!
A tiny baby wobbled and Sandi gave it a grin,
As she knelt down to mum and got stuck in.
As Sandi gave a hand and the mum began to sing, into the world slid a black Billy twin!
"It's a girl!" She exclaimed , with a heart full of love.
She thought she was done so she took off her gloves.
Oh boy she was wrong, a busy day she had.
When night check was done she really was glad.
A quick count determind
"28 lambs from 8 mums!"
Sandi knew tomorrow was going to be fun!
Her tummy was empty and her bedtime was near.
Even though she was tired she was so full of cheer.
She went to the door and turned off the light , before whispering softly "To all my sheepers, Goodnight!"

Lord I loved my pump. When I had my daughter at 25, I produced a GALLON every 24 hrs. I had a one healthy full term 7lb baby, but could have fed twins! I actually was kind of embarrassed and begged to donate, or find another mom to "trade" with, the old fashioned way. I'd love to help like that again, but having another baby is unlikely now, and younger full term moms produce the most, likely couldn't do it again at my age now.

I love watching the little lambs frolic and seeing them sleeping on their moms. Nothing you can do about the timing of the births. I too would have loved to see you foster another lamb with that mom that had so much milk and only 1 lamb. Those little brown/red lambs are so cute. Thanks for your daily lambing videos. Piper is so anxious to help but doesn't realize that she can be in the wrong place at the wrong time.

I’m not new but I enjoy your talking because things have changed along the way. We’ve gone thru some good years and not so great years but we learn new things every year. Babies being put in a glove and warmed in a pail of water, and sleeping in a bus. Injection that saved their lives! Saving pregnant ewe’s not something you could do when I first watched but now you can set up an ICU. We like the talking to remind us of all that has changed and show the new girls what you are doing.

I'm always amazed watching you stick your whole arm inside the ewe!! 😳As a nurse, I find myself wanting to know all the anatomical details but as a female I find myself winching every time I see you go elbow deep! .😆 I've never done labor and delivery well except the month during nursing school 35 years ago but I have to say it is absolutely incredible what you do all by yourself!!! Sandi, what a coincidence that you think we would not like that you explain something that you had already explained in prior vlogs. At the very beginning of this video I finally realized one thing that makes your vlogs stand out is how you first lay out your plans for the day with what you plan to accomplish. Then you explain each step in the process as you do it and tell why you are doing it in that particular way. Or you explain why you checked on a particular ewe. It helps us to understand better. I'll never work with sheep, but I feel like I could - you are a very good teacher.
Don't stop explaining. I really like to hear you explain things even when I've heard it ten times before. Maybe it's because we can watch your vlogs and know that in one part of this crazy world everything is going on as it should be. Ewes are lambing, lambs are playing, Sandi and Clarissa and Kelsey are watching over them all, and the Golden Girls are enjoying life.
Don't change what you are doing. I've been on here for just over a year and I sometimes binge watch your earlier vlogs while waiting for you to post a new vlog. Thank you for sharing your family and your life with us.
Keep doing what you are doing. We all love to see your sheep. I'm sure that we all would love to sit with your lambs for a few hours. They are so much fun to watch!
Watching your videos, I can easily see why God describes his people as sheep. Their meek, submissive attitude, even when you have to do an internal, and their forgiveness afterward show that. I totally agree with @CARATMom !! I am not a sheep farmer, just a lover of your videos and family. Your words and explanations are comforting in so many ways. Timing is everything it seems, for the mamas with tons of milk versus those with tons of babies. But, your timing always makes the world of difference to all those wee wooly faces. You are simply.... amazing and so caring of your entire flock.

Yup Advent calendars are an ancient German tradition. You start at Dec 1st and go by date until Dec 24th which is christmas eve and the main event in Germany

That little one at the end wanted someone to get up and play and couldn't get anyone, I love the little jumping play they do.
The vacuum required on the farm needs to have industrial suction that anything short of a sock can't clog, wet or dry and a large capacity container. The perfect vacuum doesn't exist. I hate having to tote the shop vac in, but there are times I need it for the back door entry to pre-vacuum the dog hair, straw and feathers which can be wet or dry depending on the day. Things get really nasty back there in the winter even with boot trays and leakproof mats it's never ending.
The night time music and videos of moms and babies are the best!❤
Advent calendars like yours are intended to be opened on date of the corresponding number like you are doing. They aren’t countdown calendars. Countdown calendars are different. Plus…this is YOUR calendar that YOU designed so don’t let anyone tell you that you are doing YOUR OWN advent calendar wrong. It always amazes me how some people will pick at the stupidest things….just to be contrary.
Simplicity is the best dog owners vacuum. I have had mine for over 20 years. After 5 years every other year I take it in and have the belt changed and the machine cleaned. I love it. They aren't cheap but they last forever. Better than a kirby.

I also say start at number 1 for Advent. many calendars now include 25th day as special bonus. My yarn Advent had knitting needles and crochet hook in number 1 then the yarn in the next ones.

I agree about the vacuum. All I need to clean my house is running water, a good multisurface cleaner, dish soap, some rags, and a great vacuum cleaner. A mop and broom are helpful, but not as necessary as a great vacuum.

The 24th on Christmas eve is the day in many european countries like Germany and Austria … when we celebrate Christmas. That is why in the Adventcallender the 24 is usualy the bigest.
