I thought the same too, and tbh like a lot of people linkin park was and is so important to me. There are some songs I can't get through anymore without crying or at least getting chills because of how much they effect me. And hearing that dude gave me chills, ESPECIALLY 7:02 I closed my eyes and relistened to that part and I swear it's so close its like Chester nearly sang it himself

He is from Bulgaria(my country😁😁) . Type in the search bar Nikola Zdravkov and you will not be disapointed. He performed one bulgarian song called Не така( Ne taka). Even if you dont understand the language i think you can just watch and appreciate what the nature has given him.
I think Justin Bonitz does an even better job at that. He has some Linkin Park Covers on his channel "Hungry Covers".
There is a CZcams cover artist who sounds identical to him. I almost cried when I heard it.

Doing a cover is not easy. Everyone is going to judge you on how different you are from the original. However, at 7:25 he added his twist in tribute to Chester. Love it! Can't stop listening over and over again.
I loved what he did there... kind of reminded me of some other band's vocal style, but I just can't figure out which band that was...

the funniest part is that the best covers are done in a completely different way, sound of silence by disturbed is a good example, the mortal mistake that every karaoke singer and most cover singers do is that they try to imitate the original version way too much and they forget their own sound and style, which results in subpar versions.

I’m gonna be real honest when I say I loved every single one of these auditions, they all sounded fantastic! Each one of these singers was from a different culture/country with their own VOICE and ACCENT tied into the lyrics and sound of the song! The idea isn’t to sound like Chester, but to make him proud with new and different twists and versions of the song! If you judge these singers voices based off of how the original artist sounds, then you’re clearly not musically inclined. And have no idea on what “The voice” as a show even stands for! Love you Chester ❤️ they did good!

For those looking for those who were closest to his sound, he point will never be to match him. He wouldn't want that. There are programs that can easily be used if we want a clone. He would have wanted ppl to sing his songs and let themselves shine through. And they do. It's the greatest honor to take what the greats give us and pay homage to it in our own way with our own personality making it ours. It shows we have been influenced and given confidence by them. It is the best thank you fans and budding artists can give. Even current artists put their own spins on covers. Those that created the song always say they are touched and proud to hear that variation come out. There is never going to be another Chester Bennington. But there will be all those he inspired to take chances and have faith in themselves left behind to carry on his memory. Be at peace, Chester. Thank you for being a voice and inspiration for so many.

"Numb", whenever I hear someone sing this song, before i enjoy it i have to make sure that the singer feels what Numb is. Its a deepful feeling. Numb is complicated so hearing a singer singing this song without the same feeling is just like body without soul.

I see a lot of comments going "This shows no one is like Chester." or "This one is good because it's the closest to Chester's." and quite frankly? I think the constant comparisons do a disservice to the talent present because yes, they aren't Chester, no one in this world can replace Chester and that isn't the point of The Voice and quite frankly? It's not something that should be taken into consideration here. What matters is how THESE singers do it, not if they imitate Chester but rather if they at least capture the spirit of that anger and passion that's required for a song like Numb.
I don't think people understand the point of a cover. Its not to imitate the artist, it's to make the song their own in their own style.

I remember many years ago when I was younger I met Chester, he was the only I knew his name off the top of my head from the band. We only chatted for 5 min but he was focus on me. Shook my hand told me to enjoy the show and signed my cd I bought. When I heard he died, it surprised me when I heard and just felt surreal

Exactly this. Many contestants pick the songs in order to show off their voices and they don't realize that some songs are just not meant to be sung that way, and it shows when they sing. Some songs, the singers should feel like it's just them and the microphone.
