That’s SOOOO funny! I was getting ready for work this morning and I was thinking man… wish Angie was here ! I think I just love to watch and listen to her videos even if I don’t do that craft!
Interesting! Wonder if it will work on my household iron too...thinking it should IF you knew what temp it's supposed to reach... I'll research that. Thank you, Angie!!
Hello Angie! I just watched this very helpful video. My heat press is not holding its temperature. Do you think I might need to replace the thermostat? Thank you for your advice.
Hi new to using a heat press. I have a Tusy press from Amazon. I did by a heat gun, but based on your video I was not using correctly. I was aiming at the top platen and noticed temperatures were inconsistent. I will now test the bottom platter. But I would need to test multiple areas before pressing every time I want to heat set an image? If I’m doing multiple shirts, that could be very time consuming. Hope you’re able to respond. Thanks
The newest version of Infusible Ink does not have the gridlines because of this issue. Cut away the backing paper as much as possible before you press.
Thank you so much Angie you are a godsend! I am very new to this and I feel like I’ve gotten pretty good with my cricket. I’ve only pressed a few things using HTV but what I’m not sure about is if I’m getting the correct results when I press the HTV. In your videos your HTV results look perfectly flat and smooth and mine don’t. can you do a video that is very up close what the HTV should look like on a fabric surface. Sometimes mine looks like it’s a little wrinkled or if it’s a little bit bumpy? I’m not sure if that’s a heat problem or I’m not using the right pressure. Or just not following the correct instructions for the HTV. thank you so much.
Greetings Angie, Is there a way to sublimate a design that is simitransparent. To create a stained glass LOOK on a pice of GLASS taken from a picture frame? As always your videos give us much needed information, So thank you so much for sharing your knowledge with us...
@@AngieHolden Hey Angie so appreciate your quick response. Would 1- 1.5mil laminate sheet work on the glass then the sublimation ink printed design over that cause it to be somewhat transparent, workable? Wonder if I would need to make the whole design layout a bit transparent ( or is that actually doable with sublimation ink designs to get the design a bit more translucent? Many thanks d
I adjusted my temperature from 400degrees to 385, and still getting burn marks. Do I try lowering the temperature more or do I need to adjust the pressure arm? And I’m definitely getting one of these temperature guns!!! Thank you Angie for all you do! I love watching your videos!!!
Question….on the tumbler heat press, when it get to 360, then I put in my tumbler in, temp fall like about 10 to 15 degrees down then rise back up but I am losing the time and yes I am doing this in basement, it little cooler down here..lol So what the best way to handle this? Thank you for great videos…..
When you test your heat press like this, after heating up for 60 seconds each time and get a reading of 305, is that the correct setting if you only need to press htv for 15 seconds. My heat press temperature is 245 degrees and my reading with the thermometer is 305. I had been using the heat press temperature gage until I noticed that I was burning shirts when I would do sublimation and had it set for 385 degrees.
Dumb question 🙋♂️ our won’t heat up we change both the one switch and the 120 fuse it’s did work for a few days but now it won’t heat up we have left it on for over 30min n still cold what’s else could it be that’s our question thank you in advance
hi Angie...i have been watching your blog for a long time now and was wondering if you could help me. I bought a selphy CP1300 which prints just fine, but the minute i put the photo under the heat press (cricut) the pic starts to bubble up. you can actually hear the pop sounds..scary...please any suggestions?
If you are looking at the readout on the press, it will fluctuate. If you are checking the temperature with this method, it will vary but having measurements over your setting would indicate to me that the press is a little hot.
What if you spent your last cent and absolutely have no funds credit cards repayment options all of the above available so this is it your stuck with what you have how do you go about using it if its too hot or cold?? Im serious no other option its the heat press you have or waste thousands of dollars on your entire venture and thats it.
My cricut easy press is not even 2 weeks old and it already damage 2 shirts this week including today's. It overheated and the melted plastic is on it. Now I wasted almost $200.00 dollars and I can not continue with my business.
Thanks very much for this. But to be honest, sometimes I just love having an Angie moment. Such a nice way to start a Monday!
Glad you enjoyed it!

Totally agree!
Thank you so much!! I was thinking my NEW heat press was deflective.
Again, you taught me something. Something that made so much sense AS i heard it. thanks again ANGIE
Thank you for sharing.
My pleasure!

Oh maybe! Mine doesn't have any sort of temperature reading on it.
Great video on a much needed issue. Happy Holidays and thanks for your great videos

Good morning! Happy to help!

Not sure on that!

I only test if I am having issues. There is zero reason to test every time you print.
Smart
Angie you are the bomb
I have issues with my Cricut mug press, it keeps transferring the gridlines from the infusible ink. Any tips? I’ve not had a successful press yet
The newest version of Infusible Ink does not have the gridlines because of this issue. Cut away the backing paper as much as possible before you press.
Can you make a video that can help us align our sublimation? I keep printing cricket! 🤣 tips tricks are appreciated! 😩💚
Aligning with HTV I assume? It is TOUGH! I have zero tips and tricks that actually work! HA!

At what temperature do i press htv on nylon i don’t find the temperature thanks
I would check for the time and temperature of the HTV that you are using.

Well sublimation by nature is transparent. You would just have to find something with a sublimation coating on it that you like that is glass.
@@AngieHolden Hey Angie so appreciate your quick response. I haven't tried lamination sheets on glass so I am not sure!
Angie, how would you test a tumbler press?
You may have to use the gun on the inside of the coil as I am not sure what you would press inside.
I adjusted my temperature from 400degrees to 385, and still getting burn marks. Do I try lowering the temperature more or do I need to adjust the pressure arm? And I’m definitely getting one of these temperature guns!!! Thank you Angie for all you do! I love watching your videos!!!
I would check the temp to make sure it is accurate. I don't have issues with burn marks.
? what if u have a telfon cover on top and bottom platen can u test the heat press the same way
You can.
Thank you so much testing it out right now was we speak

All heat presses do this. It is fine!
Hi Angie! Is there a way we can adjust the temperature so it’s more accurate ? Like recalibrate ?
Not that I know of.

Definitely running hot! For HTV, you need to check with the type of HTV you are using as it varies by brand.

Sorry not sure.
I have a Teflon sheet on the top of my platen. Is it to shiny to test it.
Most likely yes.
@@AngieHolden Thank you Angie.

I don't think those prints are made for any heat application. Not sure what you are trying to do?
@@AngieHolden the printer is sold as sublimation printer so i tried to sublimate.
That is definitely NOT a sublimation printer. Not sure where that was posted.
Hi, what is the site to buy siser? thanks
The heat press? I got it at Michaels.
the temperature of my heat press keeps fluctuating between 299 - 319, when set to 305. Anyone know why this is?
If you are looking at the readout on the press, it will fluctuate. If you are checking the temperature with this method, it will vary but having measurements over your setting would indicate to me that the press is a little hot.

I would try to determine how off it is and adjust my settings to accommodate.
My cricut easy press is not even 2 weeks old and it already damage 2 shirts this week including today's. It overheated and the melted plastic is on it. Now I wasted almost $200.00 dollars and I can not continue with my business.
I would contact Cricut as they do have a warranty.
