    Part 3 - Aussie Team:
It was so fun to watch the captaincy of Cummins. He shuffled the bowlers so well, brought in his main bowlers for quick spells and used the part time bowlers to create variations. Their fielding was outstanding, and making Indians work for every run. Aussies not only suffocated the Indian batting line up but also the supports by tying down this enormous batting giant. Can you believe India only managed to score 13 boundaries and 3 sixes ( all by Rohit in the powerplay) in the whole 50 overs. That is how good Aussies were today regardless of how ever slow the pitch was. I just want to mention this that Labus , played his best test match innings to win the ODI world cup, but Head didn't perform so well because if he did, Aussie would have won in 25 overs.

I felt India slowed down overall in the semis itself. Massive runs saved the day but look at the bowling performance, ofcourse Shami got 7 but it felt more like run pressure helped more than anything, and then some 30 extras. Australia peaked and peaked and got that major confidence bump via Maxwell.

When it comes to the US they're our biggest rivals in swimming & we are the top 2 swimming nations & during the year at the Swimming world championships we absolutely smashed America outta the pool collecting world records along the way of topping the medal tally. I won’t deny, this is a different level of hurt. In 2003, when we lost the final, it was very painful but on the inside, we all knew that the best side won. This was a whole different level of pain. To be the best side in the tournament and then to loose in the final is tough to swallow. Credit to Aus. Their big match mentality came to the forefront. They got the better of conditions but you also have to use those conditions properly. Cummins was fantastic, with his tactics and his bowling. He completely tied India down and got the big wicket of Kohli at a crucial juncture, after which India could not recover. The pressure clearly got to players. The way Rahul kept and batted, the way Shami sprayed the ball all over the place initially, the general attitude in the field… it was all very telling of pressure. I do think Rohit overstepped the bound between aggressive and careless, given how many he had already scored in that over, but the fact is tha Iyer, Rahul, SKY, and Jadeja did not carry their weight today. I know Rahul top scored in tough conditions, but he also got out when India needed him to accelerate and play till the end, as the set batsmen. The conditions definitely got better in the 2nd half. There was no help for the spinners and outside of the initial bust by Bumrah and Shami, they never really looked like breaking through.
I feel quite bad for Rohit and Dravid in particular. I guess an ODI trophy was just not on the cards for them. I will say that such conditions were a bit puzzling for the final. It makes the toss advantage very crucial. Kudos to the team and to Rohit, Kohli, Bumrah, and Shami in particular for their consistency. I’m not sure what ODI future lies ahead for the first 2, but I hope to see them back next year, trying to get the T20 WC.

Rohit did brilliant aggressive captaincy throughout the tournament. He had slips to jadeja and kuldeep throughout. But today when he is defending 240 didn't have slips to his spinners, who are best in the world. Guess what Head and labuschagne both nicked one.
Also with his batting, he knew we are playing with 7 batsmen + 4 number 11s and one of them is surya who just bats in one gear and one jadeja. So basically just 5 batsmen. When he saw gill get out early and he had to value his wicket and change the way he plays. I heard ponting say on air to one of the commentators saying you would want to score big one in the finals and 40 is not enough.
Virat too was playing alright but that fu**ing chop onto the stumps. He had to bat through till the end for india to have a chance, but alas not to be.
Others, i did not had any expectations from them on a difficult batting pitch.
It is about ability and rohit & virat were the only ones who had it
And yes india missed their clutch player hardik the batsmen and a 6th bowling option.

Major difference was the slow tempo in which india batted. Kl-virat partnership took 108 balls for 67 runs whereas head-lab partnership took just 120 balls for 100 runs. We hit just 2 fours from 10-40 overs it's where india lost it.

It's cringe listening to these 2 ex players not accept the best team won the tournament. The whole point of the tournament is to get to the final and then perform at your best win or lose. India were thoroughly outplayed in every department, batting, bowling, fielding, the intensity was there from ball one from the Aussies. India on the other hand looked timid and deflated hanging their heads when things weren't going their way instead of encouraging their team mates. This was Australia's plan to put India under pressure with superb bowling backed up by the fielding and India had no answers, Kohli and Rahul especially neither taking the responsibility of putting pressure back onto the bowlers and they virtually dead batted India out of the game. India's soft underbelly of overrated IPL stars like Shubman, Iyer and SKY who were not ready for that stage exposed for all to see.
Stop making excuses and give Australia the credit they deserve as the best team in the world.

Congratulations Australia and hard luck for India and understand this defeat will be extremely bitter to swallow! However, as I have stated a couple of times before, if India needs to start winning ICC trophies going forward, they need to start releasing players that are destined to be in the squad for next WC, CT or WTC to play oversees for a brief spell (whether it's county cricket or T20 league, whatever). This will allow the Indian players to study and adapt themselves well in foreign pitches and hopefully make most of these foreign pitch conditions experience when the big stages come. Secondly, more all-rounders that are strong and fit will need to come into play in order to match the Aussies level. Hardik Pandya, no offence, is a good allrounder, but his constant injury spells will not help the cause in the long run and solely relying on Jadeja to take on the all-rounder burden. Also, will need young players to take up the mantle asap that are now doctrined to play attacking cricket from the word go (such as Jaiswal). Pls comment below if you have other thoughts.

@@poo-tinthedwarfbunkerb1tch535 exactly. The real choke was KL and no boundaries after powerplay. Where have you seen only 2 boundaries being scored for 40 overs?

No bowling can't be blamed it's batsmen who always let us down in big matches ..... Bowling infact is the best India have had in a long time .... Especially the pace trio ..... If we have to win anything moving forward batting has to be free flowing and fearless and should be the same as in league matches .....
