While cleaning up my basement, found my equalizer and then your video. Brought back good memories. Took me a long time to get my unit dialed in, so many permutation. And then a friend came over and started playing with it. I'm wondering if my unit will still work. I see what looks like rusting on top of the front panel.
    Thanks for your video.

In 1978 I bought ADC's first Sound Shaper EQ (with the VU meters). Their first (previous) entry was the ADC-500. In 1982 I upgraded to the SS2IC version but almost got this SS3IC. I really didn't need this much sophistication and I still use my SS2IC. It has meter adjust and output controls, good S/N (85dB's) and THD/IM (0.02%) if memory serves me, bidirectional dubbing and a swell subsonic filter (18dB/oct @ 15Hz). A nicely executed and lucid video, well done. A word of caution to your viewers, these EQ's don't have a power amp built in, they use power from your main amp. Excessive boosting and high volume can damage your amp and possibly speakers too. I never boost/cut more than two dB's, I don't need to. Ain't no doubt about it, this is a boss equalizer.

Love my SS3. Gets on very well with my SANSUI AU 717 (arguably the best intergraded amplifier 100 watts or under ever made)

I'm having the same experience as Flutter with the Mark II, ie, meter lights working but zero gain control and thus no EQ function. There is no static so I do not believe that it's just a matter of cleaning the pots and/or sliders. My suspicion is that my tape monitor button is really a source selector switch. The manual does indicate that this unit cannot be used without a tape monitor function. Hooking up the equalizer directly between the amp and preamp will get around this issue as in the video by the gentleman with the Onkyo setup. This works for me. Thoughts?

Great video. How much would this exact unit run me today?

I got no output on mine. The meters are working, so is tape monitor with no eq effect. Any idea what I should be looking at ?

Your input sounds like it's working. Usually you can clean the pot and/or slider that controls the output. Use Deoxit/or DeOxit Fader or similar. Hope that helps.

I'm installing a Bluetooth receiver board ($4.23) into my SS-215. I'll slave it on an input line and my biggest problem is where to place the LED. Lol... I've been putting these boards in everything.. just finishing up adding one to my Akai reel to reel dm4000 preamp board(internal preamp).
I also have the original radio for my 1990 Oldsmobile trofeo and I'll add a BT board to that radio as well. Those radios were part of a Bose Delco partnership. Very nice looking radios, several types were made for different vehicles.

Hello Flutter. Please see my comment as we may be experiencing the same issue due to the setup of our amp itself.
