      4th manger in 6 years, that sounds dramatic. It sounds like they've changed 4 managers since Ferguson, but he's actually counting Ferguson in there.
      So, they had to choose a new manager. Moyes only managed small teams. Then giggs who was a temporary solution. Then came van gaal who didn't perform on a top top level in a long time.
      Conclusion, Gary Neville is an idiot.
      United needs a top manager if they want top results.

    As s Liverpool I suppose I could say I’m happy at the state of Man Utd at the moment. However I agree 100% with Gary Neville. The people at the top don’t have a clue.Since Fergie left they have treated the managers terribly. Moyes was treated disgracefully , he was a good manager and he has never recovered since. Van Gal a world class manager with pedigree now mourinho!
    A disturbing pattern of failures which clearly indicates problems from the top within the boardroom. The lack of respect and authority to the manager has allowed the players to be completely overpaid and are now running the club and dictating how they wish to respond. Completely unacceptable. My club Liverpool are very fortunate that at last we have manager who is completely in control of the players and has that authority and respect which the owners listen to .

      rdokoye From a Pogba fan by the way. In actuality Kante was much more instrumental in the France squad than Pogba this World Cup 🏟. He was more so along for the ride, Kylian MBappe and Antoine Griezmann were all of France’s points. Pogba had no assists, only a goal the entire tournament. You look at the same playing year 2017-18. Premier league 27 games 6 goals and 10 assists. So by his form that year it was a lack luster World Cup performance.
      I think the comment “won a World Cup is overused” he was “on a team” that won a World Cup. One could say well he’s on the team and he played his part well yeah. He was hardly an impact player at all in that France World Cup squad. His personality was bigger than his results.

    So glad to hear Gary reflecting my thoughts. I've felt like one of the only people commenting in social media that United's managerial issues are the least of the club's problems. Gary Neville adding extra credibility to the sentiment is just what the doctor ordered. You could bring in Pep, Jurgen or Zinedine... you could even bring back Fergie and every one of them would struggle to manage a Glazer owned company.
    Football clubs need to be owned by rich business people who are passionate about their club, not rich business people who are passionate about business. The only way the Glazers will sell Man United is if United fans stop going to games and buying merchandise, this presents and obvious Catch 22 because United fans boycotting United is unthinkable. If anyone has any ideas for a workaround, I'm all ears. ;)

    I'm in the Fire Mourhinho camp, but I agree with Gary here. Leaking firings to the press three or four days before they are finalized is embarassing and unfair to the person you are sacking. Jose might not be the best fit for this club, but no one deserves this.

Fans show they wanted Ed to go instead of Jose. Pogba changed his mindset. Martial showed his class. Alexis showed he still can b the game changer. And most importantly I saw the passion, hunger, confidence and pride in second half when his tactical changes proved him right.

And then expect to get the backing of his players tell me somebody that mourinho has not pick on!! he should expects to get the backing on his players. You basically name 6 out of the entire whole squad of Man United. You forgot that Valencia has a little clash with him as well. Make that 7. Mourinho criticized Shaw and look where is he now. Its up to players on how to handle it. Not saying that Mou should criticized his players in public, but the players themselves has a responsibility too. Which is why your argument is really flawed.

    He should of gone last week but I agree that this isn’t the right way to do things. Man Utd need a director of football ASAP. Woodward is good at making money off commercial deals but he’s lost in a football sense.
    Jose hasn’t helped himself either by his moaning and sulky attitude plus his dire brand of football.
    What happens at the club I have no clue but we look rudderless

    • @mrbennett
      @mrbennett Před 5 lety

      I think he didn't sulk nearly enough. It was stupid not giving him the players he wanted. Most of the goals conceded have been clear defensive problems. He knew the form of his defenders before the start of the season and desperately wanted to fix it, but know-it-all Woodward had to choose the wrong time to be stingy.

    • @wayne3078
      @wayne3078 Před 5 lety

      Emmanuel Bennett He’s spent 55m on Bailly and Lindelof and won’t play either those are his players. He still has Smalling Jones Valencia Dalot Shaw Young at the club as defenders. The club needs to sell before he can buy as that 2 players for each position. I agree we need to strengthen the defence but we aren’t a bottomless pit.

    03:37 What Neville fails to realize, is that this doesn't only count for the CEO or other important people within the football club. It also counts for the manager himself. And that manager... has had the great ability to make almost all players at that club perform worse over the last months. Mourinho has never been and will never be a good manager for manu. Sacking him is about the only right thing for the board to do, although they should never have hired him in the first place. If a football club hires Mourinho, that means you hire someone who always blames others for his own mistakes, who makes players perform way worse then they actually can and who doesn't shy away from, even physically, attacking people who are opposing him by, for example, putting his fingers in their eyes. Manu lost al their class when they hired him. Pretending that they lose even more class when they sack him now just isn't true. In my eyes, it's the only thing they can do to start rebuilding manu.
    That said, leaking the fact that he'll be sacked after the Newcastle game is a terrible and unprofessional thing to happen. Neville is right that that's a shameful thing which shouldn't have happened.

    • @bendegorro754
      @bendegorro754 Před 5 lety

      You should realize, the current squad that was before Mourinho don't have winning mentality. It's start by Moyes rebuild the squad from Ferguson, then Van Gaal rebuild it from Moyes, then now Mourinho rebuild from Van Gaal. Mourinho at least need his own 11 starting players of his own selection, either from new transfer or from the squad he got when arrive, which matched with his own play style. The board simply don't have this sense when hiring him. Or anyone in the future if he getting sacked. When Pep Guardiola arrived at ManC, their board at least give him funds for the first starting eleven of Pep's choice. Not that it matters anymore, Man Utd already screwed up the day they sack Moyes, like what Gary said in his twitter.
