- Contrary to popular belief about 2 strokes, new Evinrude E-Tecs are cleaner and quieter than four-stroke outboard motors, just as fuel efficient and more importantly, have far fewer service requirements saving me big money each year. Fishing charters are hard on motors and choice of outboard can make or break the bottom line. In this short video, I talk about why I choose Evinrude E-Tecs 2 stroke over a 4 stroke outboard for my fishing charter outboards.

Im currently running 98 ocean runner, 115hp very trusty on the gas, never had any problems with the old donk, ....looking at up grading in October ,

Any word yet on a release date for the g2's in the 90 to 135 hp range? Also, do you know if the g2's are capable of mounting a tiller handle on them?
Hi Kelly, I'm not sure really. Perhaps try your closest Evinrude dealer as they may have the full details on when they will be available. I'm pretty sure the G2's will have tiller mounting capability but I don't have the full specs sorry.
Yes a DFI 2 stroke! All lightning bolts and tge sun are plasma 2 stroke. Taft should tell you something.
Servicing fee's of 6 to 800.00? I do my own service on my Yamaha for $40.00.

So i dont get this. How can they make a two stroke, that puts out raw HC with no conversion be cleaner than a four stroke?
Stibam elgrin I’m not a mechanic mate. All we go on is the rating they get from the emissions standards board and EPA. It’s all a moot point now as they don’t make them anymore.
God bless two strokes. As a past motorcycle racer,I've known this was possible 25 years ago. No valves,cams,cam chains, oil to change, valves to adjust,etc. Four strokes= more weight,less power,more complexity. Who needs it??

Now make a poppet valved loop charged 2 stroke out of a 4 joke and dry sump with vro pumps, and plenty of amsoil dominator 2 stroke oil. BTW all lightning bolts are very powerful 2 strokes, up and down strokes leader and streamer, way to hot to channel this plasma into the cylinders of a 3.2 optimax or etec, but a water arc explosion tapping ZPE for power source. 4 joke aint for me.

Yes 2 strokes i got a small block 2 stroke v8 and an 8v92 detroit all on klotz techniplate! My rotairs are on amsoil dominator synthetic 2 strokes oil
luv my 2 stroke I used to have a race replica V4 500cc Yamaha 2 stroke what a beast and very quick
2020 no more etec evinrude only 4 strokes running!

It was pure stupidity to cancel Evinrude. It should have been more like Yamaha and other four stroke manufacturers to produce their own new two stroke line ups to challenge E Tec.
We are seeing now something simular with this sensles electric car boom. Car companies are more than capable to develope fuel efficent combustion engines with minimal emmissions. But instead of that, Honda, Ford and General Motors are gonna kill their motor cars and going in to all electric in few years. No one understands what kind of trouble we are gonna get in, when the largest portion of the vehicles are battery powered.
What kind of trouble are we going to be in with electric vehicles.
@@sproket168 What we see all the time. Charging problems, battery failuers, and they are open for hackers, and other digital melfunctions. What we gonna do if the power grid goes down for some reason? If we're not ready and equipd, we're totally fu**ed. I'm not anti high tech, but i'd keep my generator and oil lamps for a rainy day.

Everything has teething problems, this is new tech.
Batteries + electric motor = reliability it's as simple as that.
This is also why they used in large mining equipment.
Reliability and power.
As for hacks , everything has a ECU in it so not sure what your on about there.
By developing better tech we become quite unf$cked..

It actually is very very quiet.. I was about to get a four stroke... Nope. Get this no power loss and runs cleaner then a 4 stroke.. A 50 hp.. its a real 50 hp 2 stroke.. .. its sick. Buy good oil and you can get a warm season out of a change. Look online and do your own service work.. What the hell is the matter with you..

Dyno Don Dunno mate. They went broke in 2000 and were taken over by Bombardier BRP. I just use one of their motors and are not affiliated with their business so try a dealer if you’re concerned or contact them directly. Cheers
OMC went down in 2000. Bad management and new EPA regulations killed the two stroke Evinrude and Johnson outboards.

Hi Brandon Murphy I don't think we actually made that statement anywhere in the video. Choice of outboard is horses for courses. Nothing wrong with a four. We primarily use Etecs and have done for many years as they do about 500 hours a year and it saves a ton on servicing , plus they are clean nowadays, very fuel efficient with great power. Lots of charter operators also use them but really it's Horses for courses. Cheers
Way less moving parts in a 2 stroke and someone has lied to you! A 2 stroke outboard will way outlive a four stroke!
@@luketilley9137 I can't speak for newer motors but 2s are most definitely more reliable if taken care of. My 79 140 Johnny still gets about 500 hours a year and purrs like a kitten, my 4 stroke merc kicker gives me nothing but issues

Very hot and energetic to focus into the cylinders of an ETEC though, Joseph Papp made a pulsed plasmamoid 2 stroke inert gas engine to tapp ZPE. Nikola Tesla unkowing made a 2 stroke plasma engine with his magnetic arc distributor to make radiant energy from impulse DC!
