I read in the comments in one of their You-Tube songs that Lucy got some voice training.

It’s easy to get emotional when Lucy sings. She is absolutely amazing. Martha has really grown musically over the past couple of years, She too will be an excellent talent. I love them both.
i have followed Lucy since BGT and love the pure clean range of here voice when Martha start with her it was amazing and watching them both progress Martha's voice is coming into her own place you can hear her progress

Top notch reaction. Their cover of ‘The Climb’ is more up tempo, which I think is their most recent duet. But they have also just released a Mothers Day tribute cover of ‘Smile’ sung with their mother Louise.
Lucy is the only artist now where I use those "taboo" phrases; "Better than the original" and the "the best ever version of this song". You should listen to her version of "Somewhere - West Side story".

Hi Juliet...Oh my gosh I love how you didn't hold back on expressing to us your own emotions to this amazing song by two angels. I also truly enjoy your expertise in analyzing the details of how talented these two sisters are. You are one of my most favorite reactors. Big Kudos to you my dear. I hope you continue to explore more of Lucy and of course Martha as well. Lucy's recent video release "The Greatest Love of All" is absolutely incredible. It just blows me away. She is 19 now and really coming into her fully mature voice. I honestly cannot say enough about how wonderful Lucy and Martha truly are. Every song Lucy has done has always got to me emotionally. She is the Midas of the music world turning everything she touches with her voice into gold.

I have listened to many of the songs Lucy has performed and have also listened to Lucy and Martha together. No one I have ever heard sing, has had the effect on me as these two girls and especially Lucy. I actually get chill bumps when hear her sing. Wow the emotions are crazy. The emotions she shows and the emotions she makes me feel. I’m glad to know I’m not the only one that she affects in this way.

Hello Juliet, I love your vocal reactions you are so professional and you know your trade, Well now that you have heard Lucy and now Martha sing you must be amazed how good the girls are. They live in Northern England Lancashire near a town called Wigan, they have northern accents which will sound strange to you coming from the States. The girls just recently did a cover of the " Climb " which is a bit more upbeat I am sure you will love it, Lucy, Martha and Louise the girls mother have just brought out a cover of " Smile " for mothers day which in the UK is March 19th they recorded it in B/W which made it so special. I will look forward into your next reaction of the Thomas family, Keep well Barbara.

I have been watching Lucy for yeas. So talented. Her presentation comes from years of theatre study. Martha as well has come into her own since I have watching her since 2020.

They both have the same teacher since they first began lessons makes you a little envious but obviously great training and development. Lucy first then Martha two great students to have.

Re-watching this a year on, Lucy and Martha performed this live to close out the first half of Lucy’s premier public concert in Manchester on March 5th to a well deserved standing ovation, the concert hall needed a break to rebuild the roof and give medical assistance to half the audience!
Lucy and Martha Thomas duet's is incredible voices and beautiful tone quality. There duet's is perfectly synchronization's. Lucy is the best of the best singer in this world today. Just so perfect a duo,a perfect match in vocal harmony that is hard to find in anyone else.a very appreciative comment,thank you from a fan.
For me, the shining bright moment is near the end where the sisters hit the same note simultaneously (7:14). Lucy going full bright vibrato while Matha's straight and pitch-perfect (at least to my ears) voice supports and lifts the whole ting another notch or three. Please note that Martha is 5.5 year behind her big sister in age, she is just beginning!
I need at least a daily fix of Lucy and Martha every day, it fills me with well-being and tranquility every time - and I am never depressed to begin with.

Yes, OSC, Martha has an exceptionally pretty voice at only age 12! Everyone here already knows about Lucy's world-class voice, but Martha anchored this song with her flawless Italian.........and sung so eloquently and perfectly!

Third time watching and I got to thank you for NOT trying to compare Martha to Lucy !!! They are two different people and Martha is 5 years and 8 months younger and behind in her maturity, She is a Brave little soul to even agree to sing with Lucy who is just so darn good and powerful, Martha could be intimidated but she is not Martha has the guts to sing with Lucy and improve. We raised 2 girls 4 years apart and yes its a girl thing little sister followed big sister but we were also reminded several times that little sister is little sister and NOT big sister. many people would try and make comparison is skill and ability and it is discouraging to little sister. Our youngest daughter had 2 girls 2 years apart and we saw the same thing with them !!! A girl thing !!! Thank you for a great react and explanations !!

For an up tempo Lucy song as others have suggested '10,000 hours' is a catchy pop tune where Lucy ( at 15 ) obviously enjoyed having the chance to sing something different. Also 'The Climb' which is Lucy's most recent duet with Martha. And if you want to see a more animated and even feisty Martha ( at 11 ) then "When You Believe' is the one.
Loved your reaction to this incredibly beautiful performance. I've no idea how many times I've watched Lucy and Martha sing the song, but I know that I've teared up every single time that I have. Just SO good!!

@@neilh8473 I do believe WHEN YOU BELIEVE show cases Martha the best as she gets some solo time and is only 11, its interesting watching Marth at the start she has a very tentative look on her face and after the first stanza a smile and it kept getting bigger and she really belted out the song and that huge smile and then the high 5 after it was over is priceless, she has some spunk and her personality is coming out !!!

Juliet, I agree with George G. Some reactors would cut/edit to cover becoming emotional. But you pushed through it really showing how good music and singing can cause emotion as-well-as the traditional goose bumps, chills, and tears Lucy's music does that to me too. Their duets are really superb. Sometimes their vibratos are even in sync. It's astounding. As you saw here in many of Lucy's videos that she ends with a smile. I look forward to your analysis of more of Lucy's music.
Juliet, another observation. You mentioned how you noticed that Lucy avoided a high F and stayed lower, but didn't let it become weak; still showing power in her voice. I have lived long enough to know about singers who've had problems with their voices possibly from overreaching or overpowering. Some reactors mention they think Lucy can go higher; maybe reaching higher than she can or should. By dropping down she avoids reaching high enough to have it turn into a screech (an immediate turn0ff for me). On the occasions where she does reach (conservatively) she still has her rich tone, excellent vibrato, and good diction. It makes for a very nice and pleasing rendition. So thank you for being positive about her beautiful voice in that mixed register.

Hi ya Juliet - thank you for this heartfelt reaction. I, too, often get tears in my eyes listening to Lucy and Lucy & Martha together. THIS version of The Prayer is, in my opinion, is the best out there. Neither sister is drowning out the other - the balance is just perfect. Their harmonies are just so perfect it just never ceases to amaze me. Another duet you might check out is 'The Climb' and 'Smile' that also includes Lucy and Martha's mother, Louise.

Lucy and Martha are a sensational combination. Their performances are equal to those of seasoned professionals. What a treat for music lovers as the girls continue to develop their talents individually and in combination.
Lucy with over 60 songs and 4 albums is not a "professional" ???? IF not I don't know who is !!! She is the best singer I have ever heard !! PERIOD !!!

@@garycrawford3641 Set for a role, so not yet. A few albums, no concert tours, so making some money but not making a living from it. By your very limited, broad definition a busker going out one day a week is a professional. I am a coin collector, I sell coins as well but that doesn't make me a professional numismatist.
Three key points mate. Firstly, "as far as I know", so limited second or third hand information and therefore you don't know it all. Secondly, "worth close to half a million dollars", well she is British, so whatever money she has is in pounds sterling and I don't think you are the tax man, therefore that is an estimate based on what exactly? Thirdly, take a look at the CZcams channels of some professional musicians and see how many videos they have. Lucy has relatively few and spread over a number of years, which points towards music presently being a pastime for her. Some albums released yes, some performances, yes but not a full time endeavour at the exclusion of everything else. Finally, on Lucy's own CZcams channel and on various website descriptions, there is no mention of her being a professional musician. That is what I am basing my opinion on. End of story.
@@garycrawford3641 51 videos on Lucy's channel is not over 60. The musical hasn't taken place yet. I've seen buskers who have four and more albums. Lucy may soon be making a living from music but it doesn't seem to be the case yet. Lucy has 128 million views of her videos in an 11 year period and her channel has nearly 700,000 subscribers. Aurora Asknes from Norway is a professional musician. Her channel has been operating for eight years, she has 102 videos, they have had 1.2 billion views and she has over five million subscribers. All of the videos on Aurora's channel are her official videos supporting her songs and there are some that are "behind the scenes". All of her many, many concert performances are on other channels and sites belonging to her fans and there are consequently many more millions of views. So, there is the difference between a professional musician who has had multiple concert tours every year for the past eight years, has an EP and four albums that are strongly supported by her record label and hence has become widely known and very popular and a younger artist who is just beginning a promising musical journey but is not yet a professional musician. Aurora's songs on her albums are all originals (50+), she has a number of others that don't appear on the albums and she has done about a dozen covers, all of which are performed in concerts and promotional appearances. Lucy doesn't yet have much original material. Lucy has star quality and she has the talent to hopefully succeed in a very difficult business but currently she she isn't a fully fledged professional musician. We have differing opinions and neither of us has all of the facts but I will stick with what I do know and by that criteria I maintain that Lucy is not a professional musician.

Suggestions for songs that are more up tempo and has not been mentioned yet could be "A million dreams" and her least popular video (concidering how long ago it was released) "10.000 hours". She is 15 years old in both of them. I actually like her rendition of "10.000 hours", you can see how much she enjoys singing it. But then again I have never seen/heard a song by Lucy that I didn't like 😉

As for more upbeats my favourite is ‘Let It Go’ from the movie ‘Frozen’. No video but Lucy sings ‘Let It Go’ just perfectly, so much I thought Lucy was the movie singing. 😀

The Thomas Sisters have another big hit. Incredible performance with epic harmonizing. Martha has found her voice, and it is lovely. Lucy continues to grow her own voice. Her vocal control is certain and without hesitation. She has so much confidence in her own ability, vocals pure, powerful and with so much purpose. There is no doubt that these girls can sing... really sing without any gimmicks.
They match pitch, volume, and vibrato with one microphone. That is beyond amazing. There is nothing but great things ahead for the Thomas Sisters.
Singing talent runs deep in the Thomas's DNA... Mum sings, Grandma sings, Martha sings, and Lucy sings. Rumor has it that even their cats, dogs, and horses can also sing. Of course I got that info from the Internet... but I have to believe there is lots of singing around the holiday dinner table. They just released a Single with their Mum joining in. She is an experienced vocalist. Lucy and Martha had a great role model... Mum.

Footnote: Siblings harmonize almost perfectly due to Genetics. Siblings have very similar musical instruments... same lips, mouths, tongues, throats, lungs, diaphragms, and of course vocal cords. Lucy sounded like Martha when she was younger. It is not hard to imagine that in 5 years she will sound like Lucy did at same age.
This might the best 'Duet' of 'the Prayer' I have heard. I did recently hear it performed by Pentatonix. Their rendition is hands down the best ever... and it won't be beat. But they are in completely genre. They sing A cappella as I did for years. Very different, and very demanding. I had Pentatonix 'Hallelujah' pegged at Best Ever several years ago. Then, Lucy Thomas did her rendition and blew everyone away. Lucy's version will never be beat. Even if someone copies her, they will fall short of her perfection.
Stephen...well said and yes the whole family sings even their grand mother, a post on Tweeter of Lucy and grandmother, even found a couple of Martha at 10 singing by herself and Lucy and her mother singing on the way to an interview.. fantastic family and the love shown amonst them is encouraging !! !

We raised 2 girls about 4 years apart and I understand the dynamic of little sister big sister, and our youngest has 2 daughters and they were the same, the older one is married the younger one 3rd year nursing school and they were the same way. its a girl thing !!!
