"Memory" was the song that led me to Lucy and my life has never been the same since. Oh and her concert? I was there and I wish you could have been there, it was a very magical night. We even got two duets with Lucy and her younger sister Martha. Everyone who was there knows they witnessed history and something very special that they will never forget. I could go on and on about that night. Hope to see you at one of Lucy's concerts one day. 🥰

Robbie, "Memory" is also the piece that drew me to Lucy. I'm constantly amazed at her talent. That video is where I came up with the description "Reach but no screech" concerning Lucy's voice because in the wide-open full-on belt she still had good pitch, her beautiful vibrato was there, and you could still plainly hear the lyrics. Many have come onboard with Lucy, just look at the views on Hallelujah. Interestingly, lots of reactors Jump on anything Lucy puts out almost immediately . I also admire your video editing on some of the Lucy videos you have created. Like many others, I hope excerpts of her concert become available.

So many singers are judged on their ability to hit the big notes, which Lucy can do, but it’s the softness that she brings to her music that I find so captivating. So smooth ❤

Lucy's voice is one I could listen to all day.
Lucy did not perform Memory at her recent Manchester concert. However, she did perform it in Dallas last fall and it was breathtaking.
Lucy was fifteen years old here 🙂 Same age as when she sang Starlight (another one from 'Rosie' that I'm waiting for).

i'm a 68-year old guy, but the tears have always come each time I've watched Lucy perform this song. I greatly admire her as the wonderful young lady she is as well as a phenomenal artist! I feel the same about her younger sister Martha too. If you have not reacted to them singing duets together, you really should check out their several performances! Lucy released this song Dec 27 2019 about 7 weeks before her 16th birthday !!!!! 15 years old and singing like that, This song is on my favorite list of Lucy's.....Juliet see we told you Lucy was great!!!! And Lucy and Martha just an hour ago released the VIDEO song of Pie Jesu !!!!! Yes the one YOU requested so how about a react to that ????? and don't wait 6 months,. it is a recent video and Martha is even older and Lucy goes to new heights !!! Personally I don't see the comparison with Julie Andrews. Firstly Lucy's tone is completely different and Julie didn't have anywhere near the range or power of even the fifteen year old Lucy, Today Lucy is in a class of her own, either performing this song or the jazzy "At Last" or her and Martha's latest video release

Hi Juliet, thank you for finally reacting to this performance from Lucy. I love the way she doesn't just sing the song, she performs it. I get goose bumps every time I listen to Lucy sing this and I would love to hear her sing this again. This was this video that introduced me to Lucy back in January of 2020 and I've been hooked ever since. You have become my favorite reactor. As mentioned below, Lucy and Chris Broom have given free use of Lucy's videos on CZcams, so you won't get blocked if you don't pause. With most reactors, the pauses irritate me a little, but I've never minded your applauses because you've always given insightful and meaningful comments when you do pause. Take care.

That's why you might want to hear her at 9,10..15 to appreciate her spectacular performances at an early age here: "Rare Recordings - Lucy Thomas" (a playlist of ten special ones. The last one is Colors of the wind @ 9yo, One Day is the audition for Rosie musical @13yo which got her the contracts with Chris Broom! Run she did at 10 and later at 15!

Lucy always hits me right in the heart. Whether she is 9, 10, 15 or now 20 years old, she has the most incredible voice and the deepest emotions at any age. This young woman is a gift from God.

It always moves me that Lucy's performance can make you tear up. Same with me. I cant' even carry a tune but I knew there was something special about Lucy from the moment I saw her as a 10 year old on the beach singing Run. She always makes me smile. I also love Lucy's version of "At Last" because we really see a very different side of Lucy. I appreciate your analysis and validation.

Juliet, I just saw the Lucy-ism (Head-bounce) and so did you; you actually mimicked it and smiled (on "Remembered"). I don't know the original score but Lucy stretched out "ha-ppi-ness" using straight tones. I know you like to address long waits in the lyrics (in fact I think I heard you hum a little bit), but the pause here fits how she's searching memories. And Juliet -- this is one of the most animated reactions I've seen you do. Along with that, I could tell you were fighting to hold in your emotions (i heard it in your voice several times). I'm in the same boat, this one could be called a 'tear-jerker' for me. Sorry for filling up the comments, but I have so much to say about Lucy along with your reactions. Every time I watch it more stands out to me.

This young lady is truly amazing her voice at this young age was truly something, just so beautiful , now Juliet, Lucy & Martha have just released "Pie Jesu " on CZcams within the last 30 minutes it was released for Easter, and just to say, you need to listen to "Hold On " by Lucy & Will Callan from the musical "Rosie" it is just so beauiiful to listen to/ Take care, Barbara.

This is the first song I heard of Lucy. I fell in love instantly and has been a supporter ever since. It is just magnificent.

Hope you have 'Run To You' lined up too, one of the covers Lucy did of one of Whitney Houston's songs. She speaks at the end of that one so you can hear her northern English accent. Her town is 73 miiles from mine.
Juliet, got to add more. as-far-as performing this piece goes, note that during the real powerful belt section she brings her hands into view on her chest adding a little more oomph to the interpretation. Even though most of her videos are busts she brings her hands into view to add meaning. Sometimes it emphasizes a first-person meaning; including herself in the lyrics. Also, nearing and on into the ending, after all that power and emotion, she collects it all into a last note or two with a very light, sweet, tone. Many times just those last two or three notes send me over the top and I'm crying again. And, Juliet, regarding you personally, your physical and facial reactions really add to your comments making them come alive. Body language (especially when your countenance is effected) can be very powerful.

Thanks Juliet I knew you’d love this, the video was released in 2019 so Lucy was 15. Lucy just has the most perfect voice for musical theatre although she excels at every musical genre I’ve heard her try! Lucy didn’t include this in the March 5th concert but did do 15 solos and 2 duets with Martha all to absolute perfection.

Two things" First things first. You commented in a previous reaction that you would love to here Lucy sing "Pie En Jesu". Well the video was just released!! I remember watching Lucy singing when she was fifteen (which I think Martha is now). I can't believe all that time has past. They both have progressed and matured so much. Secondly: Juliet you are so right about the depth of Lucy's low range when she sang Memory. The maturation of her voice has been phenomenal and transformed her vocal ability exponentially. She is in a class of her own. Another great reaction. From a viewer standpoint, it is so moving to witness your expressions and emotions while you work.

Hi Juliet. You know that I love Loren Allred, especially the performance on AGT you just reacted to, and I really like Morissette, but, I have to say that Lucy is in a class by herself. Just the complete package no matter what age she is or what song she sings. You pick up all these little things that go into a performance that turn it into a spectacular experience.
Interestingly during a Q&A session in her March 5th concert Lucy was asked which singers she admired and she said Barbara Streisand, Celine Dion and …… Loren Allred! It’s likely Lucy and Loren have met as last October they both did private concerts for the Best family in Dallas and videos of those concerts were released within a few hours of each other!

OK, now that we're going back into the older Lucy gems, how about you analyzing an absolute flawless performance of "She Used to be Mine"?!! I have one word for you with this performance from Lucy: EMPATHY! She takes on the role of this waitress, faults and all, just stunning!!
Yes, and the live version of her singing it at the Calon fundraiser at age 15 is absolutely awesome. It would be awesome to have Juliet react to the live version. I happen to think it is better than the studio version. The video is easily accessible on Lucy’s channel. The full video with Lucy singing 3 live songs is also easily available. At age 15, that video already shows what an accomplished and mature performer she was and it is clear she loves to perform. Just amazing!

Such as your pointing out how she sung that first "happiness" in a such a way as to make it sound sad or with that note of longing in it, as well as all the other little nuances you point out. How the heck does someone that young sing a song like this with such emotional maturity and sincerity? Unbelievable. No hint of any hokiness. BTW..."jacuzzi tone", ha, love that description. Juliet, I watched this again. This time I saw how impressive her vibrato is. It shows all the way through this piece; particularly in the wide open belt section. Another reactor said 'nobody does vibrato like Lucy' and I have to agree. Even at this young she has a fantastic, even symmetrical and amazing vibrato. WOW!
Juoiet, thank you for finally getting to this one. This was the first Lucy video I watched and I immediately loved everything about it and became a dedicated fan and subscribed to her channel . When she got to that wide-open full-on belt I was floored. With all that power and slightly higher pitch in the belt you could still understand the lyrics, she stayed on key, and her outstanding vibrato was there. Also, even though she really pushed the third word she did not screech. I immediately began my saying of "Reach but no screech" concerning Lucy. Because of my long musical history, and having lived a long time I mentioned to you (and also commented to her on her video) about being a little conservative and not blowing out her vocal cords. On top of that, screeching hurts my ears. I've been waiting for you to get to this one for a long time. On top of that, Lucy can bring chills and open up the waterworks because of her "performing" a song, not just singing it. Sometimes I have to replay a video because the tears made it hard to see the video. I figured that it's getting a little old and dusty and might get forgotten. So once again, "Thank You". 😂😂😂

Thank you for the excellent analysis and reaction to Lucy signing ‘Memory’ from Cats. All of your analysis has helped me to understand how vocalists achieve certain emotions beyond just the words of a song. Lucy is masterful in telling a story with words and technique. It makes her a performer in distinction to a singer alone. It is why at the Manchester live performance she needed nothing save a piano and pianist. She performed and kept everyone engaged and entertained. Singers require props, other people, costumes, etc. to accomplish that. Lucy is well on her way to being a master performer. We are all so fortunate to be able to witness it. Thank you again, Juliet for such wonderful job analyzing Lucy.

I believe Lucy was 15 at the time. When Lucy crescendos and she belts out "Trust me",
I emotionally wince, visibly tremble, and whimper like a child.

Hi ya Juliet - I would be very interested in your reaction to a Lucy video - 'She Used to be Mine' - that Lucy posted on 28 Jul 2018 at 14 years old. I am not sure if you have already watched it or not. Just hoping.
Really enjoyed your reaction to this master class performance from the young Lucy. If you think this is impressive at such a young age then take a look at the song "One Day" when she was thirteen years old and as equally jaw dropping even without full blown belts. This video is a little hard to find so I've put the link below. Just as a matter of interest, Chris Broom uses CZcams to promote Lucy's phenomenal talent and wont block these videos of hers. Chris is a shrewd guy, slowly easing Lucy into the mainstream audience leading up to "Rosie the Musical" due to open later this year.
