- After so many months, we are finally back in the mainline issues! It's the start of a new arc in IDW where we are doing a Sonic Riders story!
In this, the race begins with many familiar faces and many surprises along the way!

WE ARE SO BACK INDEED! Maybe this arc will inspire Sega to make another Riders game, because we all know everyone will like that. Also, having an actual understandable explanation for Sonic being the Phantom Rider is very, very appreciated... I was thinking it was going to be a cop-out, but it looks like it won't be
I have to admit, that eggman surprise at the end was amazing! Like, sweet Celestia, its makes sense now! And the sonic and Eggman team up was the cherry on top! I can't wait to see the confrontation of clutch and eggman, oh boy i hope eggman gives him a beating like he did to starline!😂

So glad we're back MKGD it's been a long wait this arc is gonna go from issue 69 to 75. Loved the start of this arc also when Clutch stabbed his cane into the floor you can see Kit and Surge freeze or flinch. No doubt that's PTSD of being disciplined also Lanolin yeah ever since Urban warfare idk what happened to her character. But it's like she got too authoritative and please just reveal minic already so we can move on. Hyped for the next t
It's funny, but I'm actually kind of relieved that Lanolin is continuing to be kind of a jerk
If it was just in 63/64 I'd worry that her dismissiveness and hostility would just never be addressed since you could argue that she _technically_ didn't do anything outright wrong, so it's strangely reassuring to see her blow up at her allies in a way that's pretty unambiguously uncalled for by the circumstances
Given Jet accusing her of bias earlier on and how much that seemed to annoy her, it even comes across like this might be an incredibly petty overcorrection she's doing just to prove him wrong (assuming she's not another Clutch plant or whatever - like is she competing in this race? the one she's also refereeing? because if she is, it seems weird that she would've been selected for the job with such an obvious conflict of interest)
By the way, judging by what we can see of Dr. Yolk's build and the mascots' relative heights, I'm pretty sure it's Vector and Charmy in those costumes. The mascots also appear on some covers of the upcoming issues, so presumably they're gonna be somewhat relevant. If I'm right, wonder if they got hired by someone to investigate or if they're just that desperate for work lol

I just had a thought on how or why they are making this the next big plot. What if while Amy & Tails are searching for answers, they come across files of Surge & Kits past, as well as Clutch’s hostile takeover to get rid of the Restoration plans? Because Clutch thought Sonic & the heroes would be temporarily out of the way. and if they do find out that he have Jewel as a hostage without her knowing it.
Don’t forget there’s 2 phantom riders! WHO WILL BE THE SECOND ONE!

I think that once Clutch gets defeated by Sonic and the gang, he won't be able to hold his end of his deal with Surge, Kit, and Mimic. The three will team up and try to get payback on Clutch in similar way how the Chaotix did with Eggman in Sonic Heroes.
Im fine ....so far... with Lanolin telling them off during the race. They were still on the track off an ACTIVE race. More so, they were leading the field, so EVERYBODY was closing in at high speed. Yes an investigation was in order, but not at that time or place. Tangle already made sure, that they were fine, so it was Lanolins job to clear the track, once the safety off the riders was established.
On the other end, with her being so fixated on rules, I could see her becoming a henchmen off Clutch in the long run. With him leading her around the nose doing his corporate jargon.
I hope Lanolin betrays everyone and joins the villains. She'd be better with them than the heroes. To me she'll always be just a background side character.
I don't see that making her a Villain just because she very strict would make sense to be honest
@@Trinack Not because she is very strict, but because she is very focused on the rules and authority. Claim authority, change the rules, lead her a bit around the nose (like Clutch likes to do) and she will do your bidding.

Man it's been a long time since I saw this comic series come back. Can I say that I love the story and love the designs of the characters. It's very hard to choose favorites. But I'm not going to lie though Lanolin is getting on my nerves. She jumps into conclusions and not gives any regards about her friends being hurt by scrapes on the road. It's like the same thing that you did for Silver. I'm not saying that Silver was in the right here but all that seems so suspicious that she should have taken that seriously. She fails to notice that one of her teammates is literally an assassin. And I like how Tangle is hesitant there. Our girl knows that something is wrong and she feels conflicted between her friends. But this is exactly why I don't like Lanolin. Like her strictness is going to get her stabbed in the back by Mimic aka Duo. And I really feel interested about Sonic working together with Eggman it's something to say the least. But I'm just happy that the comics are coming back. But I'm still mad that's Lanolin showed disregard to our friends and about this situation not being kind of suspicious about the extreme gear just malfunctioning like that. That's really suspicious. And the main concern is seeing that your friends are safe not trying to cause an argument. But other than that I'm just really happy that we're going to get more stories and I hope Mimic gets exposed and for good measure stabs Lanolin in the back for being that dumb and taking the whole leadership role too seriously. Like I want her to learn from this and be better. But can't wait to see more of the story that's unfolding.
Goddamn Sega make another Riders game already 😡
All I want is for Surge and Kit to find out who they really are, and (maybe) get themselves a redemption arc. But instead, all the focus is gonna be on these stupid races and probably other meaningless Sonic adventures. The only reason Surge is against everyone is because no one cares, especially Sonic. Nobody wants to help her, nobody wonders why she's doing this, nobody's interested in who she was.

I am so with you on the delays MarioKartGamerDude, I mean, come on, why do things have to get delayed. I'm getting real irked about this. fortunately the Spring Broken special will fill the gap a bit and it might be interesting. And as for Lanolin, I am so irked our HOW she's handling the situation; the only reason I'm showing some leniency towards her is the WHY and what she's been going through since issue 61. her village being attacked, getting trapped in that spacial displacement trap and things going not perfect in general have REALLY taken it's toll on her, and thus she's fallen prey to Mimic's manipulation because he behaves in the way that she wants. Sorry Lal, but i'm afraid you'll need comeuppance before redemption. and Whisper, I'd prefer if she actually re-figures out Mimic BEFORE he reveals himself to her

Finally the main saga returned, I'm glad to see everyone again (especially Lanolin ❤️🤍, although she was somewhat stubborn), I think this arc will be full of surprises, the end of the episode, something that although I suspected, I didn't expect to be like that, it was cool
WE ARE BACK BABY! This chapter was definitely worth the wait. I liked a lot about it, even the stuff that was mentioned. The Riders interactions with the Babylon Rouges and Team Sonic was definitely one of them, nostalgia to the max. It does make me hope that Sega will make a new Riders game like "Sonic Turbo Riders" or something among those lines. Especially how the theory of Sonic being the Phantom Rider, it was a huge brain blast! The Extreme Gear was gotten from Eggman, the suit having blue here and there did make me think of Sonic, and with how you compare the sizes of the two, they look relatively the same! I cannot wait for the next one. Yet Lanolin...oh yikes, she needs to fix herself up a bit because this is starting to get a little bit out of hand. Especially with how people threw a lot of hate at her beforehand of what happened with Silver and "Duo" (Mimic), this could lead to a whole lot worse. I know it's for story purposes like with suspense, but I hope some other issue in the Riders Arc they reveal Duo's true identity. Though I'll still be patient with it because of the obvious reasons and everything.

Awesome review I really enjoy this Issue especially the Sonic Riders theme from the games into the IDW Sonic comics. I think we all know who the Phantom Rider Is In the next few Issues coming up to Issue 72. Love the new Story arc all set up In the Sonic Riders Theme.
Seeing Dr Eggman In that purple suit he looks very posh Indeed having dinner with Sonic Tails and Amy. I say this Is their best Issue to date overall awesome Issue. Issue 70 Is out on 3 July (Dates subject to change) Since you ask me on my channel what do you rate this Issue? No doubt a 10/10 from me :)

AT LAST. WE ARE FREE FROM THE 5 MONTH HIATUS AND DON'T HAVE SETTLE FOR THE MEDIOCRE MISADVENTURES ARC (no offense to those who like the arc)
This first issue was pretty good at setting the stage. It was interesting to see how are 4 antagonists try to coroperate and how try work together. Surge and Kit seeming want to handle Sonic and Tails there own way, But Clutch orders them to play it carefully. *And Mimic is just there to lay down what they need to do.* And because of their Sabotage working, disqualifing them to not interfere with their plans in the race. But thanks to the Eggman giving them his custom made extreme gear, he makes a deal with Sonic and co to find out who is the mastermind.
This does bring many ideas to the table. Obviously Sonic is gonna take the Phantom Rider Identity, while Amy and Tails try to invesigate. This would catch the attention to Clutc's Crew since they know this would be left field. I would also assume Lanolin would take issue with the Phantom Rider randomly appearing as well. I could also see Amy and Tails try to sneak around to find clues, but then stumble into some Clean Sweep Guards or even Rough & Tumble. There is alot ideas that can be thrown around in the next issue. So I am curious on how the IDW team will take advantage of the Next Issue.

And while Eggman can be foolish, he can be very cruel indeed. Let’s not forget that Mimic in his cowardice fears Eggman as well. But Sonic being the Phantom Rider may not always be good, if Clutch finds out he may use that to his advantage in order to fill further doubt in the Neo Diamond Cutters.
Hopefully Tangle will prove she is the heart of the team, and bring a true union even though she cannot see through Mimics disguses

Sonic goes by the Phantom Rider. Imagine a different universe. Sonic calls himself the Phantom Rider and Tails, and Amy also joins him, the same skills and weapons but different name like Sonic goes by Phantom Rider. Serge is getting tired of people turn out to do so, is like Clutch isn't promising her and Kit who they are and also hate being told and want to do, they should say or Amy and the another find out or beat them to the punch first. Yeah even Lanolin went harsh to them, more of the Hedgehogs who save her from Issue 2 of the comic. Yeah a referee should check something bad happen not harsh, yeah she can't make a promise to the gangs and the Resistance on live television but a job it's a job they should fix her after like the last time they did to her. Clutch and Eggman have two Phantom Riders, Mimic and Sonic who will show themselves on live t.v? Yeah comic company delay it a lot and yeah fan probably won't like the Spring Special got announced first but it's going to be a long ride, thank you for the video.

She’s just doing her job.
I actually enjoy her character. She does not want to come off weak and displays the qualities of a stern leader. Most people hate her because she is a secondary character scolding established heroes we've known for years. I look forward to seeing the look on her face when the flaws of her leadership come back to *shear her in the wool.* How she takes this lesson afterward will define her character from there on out.
I know this is semantics but aren't the Babylon Rogues know thieve's? why would they be invited to a big event and not just arrested on site? I understand fans like them but writer decisions like this really take me out of the world building.
Also a Sonic Eggman team up?
Yes we the reader understand that Clutch is working behind the scenes to dismantle the restoration which would in turn hurt the world. But Sonic and his team don't have enough information to put that together, they just know somethings up.
When they know the world is at stake sure team up with Eggman I can understand that. But teaming up just because Sonic was wrongfully disqualified? is kinda irresponsible. They should attempt to arrest Eggman on site.
Lanolin is the main reason I do not like the diamond cutters or the comics anymore. What she did here is unforgivable. You don't talk to Sonic and them like that. If it wasn't for them she'd be a zombot. Lanolin should be kicked off the team and go back to being a background character. The comics and Tangle and Whisper are better without her. Sorry but that's my opinion.
