I'm from India,Manipur,it's literally next to Burma/Myanmar...ever since the trouble,chaos in Burma things hasn't been going well,a lot of Burmese has also came to our side of the border and seeing them in such a state of pity I came here to learn about our neighbour

Ive been subbscribed to your channel for awhile now. Since the Bahrain episode to be precise. I love ypur show, and i love learning about history and geography. I also wanted to say thank you for doing this episode, (thanks everyone!!) Because my mother came ftom Burma in 1973 durring the Revolutionary Period. Burma is still under a military dictatorship to this day.

This was hole series i amazing in many ways , because it teaches you how big, diverse and interesting is our big wide world , butl also that keeping live knowledge of ones roots is very important. Its also again shows us how bloody the histort is but people are very resilient and adaptable and built from the ashes as long as they can form a caring community with shared perspectives for the future. We are now being under a threat of another devastating war in Europe that inevitably will hav massive consequences fo the world. If only ee could learn from our mistakes

The language is definitely Tibeto-Burman. It's most similar to some languages in Yunnan, as that's where the Bamar originally came from. I learnt about this in "River of Lost Footsteps" that I read whilst travelling through Myanmar.
I thought their language fall in lolo Burmese group. Tibeto-Burman is more North East India side

Myanmar has lots of potentialities..very bright in future..full of natural resources..located at the junctions of south east asia, east asia and India...best location of trade centre...good population size, good territorial size...i like Myanmar..very similar to north east indians in culture, tradition, race, etc.

The previous military junta have destroyed and devastated the country, yet we are thriving, but since 2016 due to the Rakhine Issue on biased global media platforms make us worse. All economic reforms have been stagnated and most of the world misunderstand the actual events and situations. The matter of worse is that our country has not been democratization yet, 25% of parliament seats are occupied by military.
Glad to hear that and one thing to add, Northeast indians like Mizoram state and Negaland state are also considered as native ethnic group in Myanmar since we, Mizo and Nega races, are called "Chin" ethnic group in Myanmar. 😊 FYI
Yeah. Because those north East Indian states used to be on their own rules before the British. There was a lot of kingdoms and tribes in those areas because of good agriculture with rivers, hills, and valleys.
