Security guard at K-Expo harassing fans and saying racist things about The Rose

- His name is Wesley Russell. The security company was unable to provide it, but someone provided me a link to his facebook and the tattoos match between his profile photos on both his accounts to pictures taken by me and other fans that night.
UPDATE 10/3/18 5:30pm:
The guard is being fired by the security company that contracted him tomorrow morning.
The manager is also asking his partner if he can release the guys last name as well, but his first name is definitely Wesley, he wasn't lying about that.

I was one of the fans chosen for the raffle to be up front and go on stage for The Rose's performance at K-Expo 2018
As soon as the security guard on stage right/house left noticed that at least two of the members spoke English he began to harass their fans and started to say racist things about the boys.
Although I didn't get footage of all of the incident, this is what I have and it's pretty damning.
I have called the Melrose Ballroom box office and my phone number was forwarded to their upper management, but they still have not responded to me and I don't think they ever will.
This behavior is completely unacceptable and he needs to be punished by his management. I understand that the venue hires outside security companies but they need to actually respond to the fan complaints and notify the security company he's from.

How typical. Ugly guy is jealous of a guy that’s far more attractive and gets more female attention than him.
I’m so sorry this happened. I was trying to stop him from saying racist things about the boys and to stop saying racist things to fans. I was one of the volunteers and I’m korean. I totally understand how you felt about him being so rude to fans and the groups
It's definitely not your guys' fault like... he was completely out of control and was nasty to you guys too (I was the girl w/ the red jacket and rose embroidery dress and black rose corsage that had won the raffle thing, so I was also in that section in front of the barricade with you guys when this was happening)
I felt at parts that I should have said something like... as a white person he might be more likely to listen to me, but when I had tried before a majority of this stuff he basically just ignored us all and a lot of us were scared that he'd try to kick us out (he was like... in way too high a position of power for his personality)
I was talking to people on twt and some got WAY better pics of his face than I did and one person got in contact w/ the venue's management but they haven't heard back from the security manager yet.
I already like... submitted the video to some of the like kpop news blog things so honestly if no one from the venue deals with this, I want them to publish his face everywhere.
ceohan yeah. I was outside and he had made this rude remark about speaking Chinese and a girl had gotten offended and said you don’t have to say it like that and I was trying to explain to him and he wrote me off. Tbh if you said something I don’t think he could kick you out. He’s not hired by us. He is hired by the venue. If something went wrong the staff would have to be notified and the staff would have had to deal with it. He is security to make sure the venue is safe and that no fights happen and that the rules regarding entering and exiting the venue are upheld. Kicking people out would the staffs decision and job. I’m still sorry you felt the way you felt. Even if it isn’t our fault it’s still not something good.
Yeah, since people have had issues with follow through with their complaints to the venue I'm most likely to go there on Friday after my classes to complain directly in their faces (I'm from Queens so it's nbd for me to get there).
I want receipts that he's been fired or I'm sending the video into every local news network (not just the kpop news blogs which I already sent this to). I'm not going to let this just sit, especially cause of this which just like broke my heart when I noticed it.

ceohan yeah. I’m from queens too. I’m about an hour out from the venue. Tbh I wanted to complain right there cuz I told him I’m korean and that you know this is my culture and he like disregarded it basically. I tried to like be friendly and maybe he’d listen a bit but in the end he just didn’t care and was cursing and everything. I feel so bad for the artists and people who had to experience that unneeded negativity and just overall awfulness. That side glance right there just like broke my heart. I just hope the venue will respond cuz we had issues with the entering and reentering. Trust me when I say this. Our CEO even was trying to get them to give in cuz just packing people in there was NOT our intention. We were supposed to be able to let you guys in an out.
yeah the group of people i went to lunch with ran into the ceo in the pizza place and he was so grateful that we had gotten out for the limited time security staff allowed it (we were wristbanded so.... .. . .like i still cannot grasp why anyone would be against it)
also i'm really thinking about trying to get a group of people to go there on friday (strength in numbers) they have an event going on so at least SOME management has to be there.
He called me a big ass baby , and said HORRIBLE THINGS this whole shit was a mess ! This man was not ok ! There was one shorter chunky one who I LOVED he was so sweet and had a heart of gold .
Not everyone is same..but good think u didn't get hurt and anything so that's relief next time be more careful..I wish anyone in concerts in any band they sound cheak out for there employees most especially in public appearances.. because if they don't do we can see this kind of result . No saying anything wrong. because it's not the band members always get to choose this people .. because it's the menagement do so I think they should pay more attention . for sure...so the fan who love this beloved band's they also can stay safe ..so I thought they should pay more attention for sure

He will be FIRED and his subcontract company will be notified in the morning, so he might not work through the company they hired him from ever again either!

If they refuse to respond with the company they hired him from's name I'm legit going to send this into every local news outlet. I'm not letting this go. Also since NY1 already did a story about the event before it, they're probably likely to do a story about the event going to hell.

Omg yess we were there in the front as well and he would not stop cursing and was actually making fun of A.C.E and Astro as well. When Hajoon was throwing the rose as fan service, there's this other security guy that cursed at him. And during Astro's he brought these 2 girls up to the front, pass the barricade and he was kissing and flirting with one of them. It was disgusting to watch. They were like that the whole time during Astro's. Imagine how the fans in the front and how Astro felt.

yeah this is actually rlly common with security at rock shows and stuff like that, but also w/ the groups that were there, so so so many underage fans for astro and a.c.e (not so much for the rose and myungsoo but still) it's disturbing

Omg this happened to me too. i was the dead center in the front and he was making fun of ace and their set. And mocking their dancing and he was cursing at us too. he also brought these two girls in front of the barricade for astro’s set and he was like kissing her cheek and touching her waist and getting each others numbers. They were also taking pics and she was like not even near the front. its unfair xause we waited since 2 am and they just waltzed up. And when we voiced it he was like mind ur business etc.

I'm using this as proof when I file a dispute with my credit card company. Thank you so much! We were all robbed that night of not just money, but what could have been a respectable and fair experience for everyone.

UPDATE 10/3/18 5:00pm:
Melrose Ballroom contacted me with the name and number of the security company they used. They've told me that they will not be contracting any guards from that company again. If you were at the event you can DM me for the information on the security company to put in a complaint yourself as well.
I have tried contacting the security company and only got an answering machine and left a detailed message about what happened with my contact info. If they don't get back to me by this Friday (I'll be calling them more in the meantime) I will pursue this further because he should never be allowed around underage girls in a position of power again.
At this point both K-Expo management and the venue management have put in complaints to the security company as well, so the blame for this doesn't really fall on either of them anymore, but the security company should give us a statement that he's been reprimanded for his actions.

I’m always late on stuff, but I hope nothing that disrespectful ever happens towards any of these hard working idols and honestly just anyone. I hope none of y’all meet anyone as disrespectful as that security guard.

I've been talking to people on twt and tumblr on and off today and this happened throughout the show with all groups after Myungsoo
Another girl contacted the venue and was able to get transferred to one of the venue managers, but hasn't been able to get in touch with the security managers since. I'm planning to call again tomorrow and if nothing happens, I live 15 minutes away from the venue by subway so I'm gonna actually go there to complain.
According to people on both insta and twt, if you e-mail showclix they will refund you your money but I don't have absolute confirmation of that. I also do not know how refunds will affect the artists payment for the event.
Some people have been emailed a link to their dramafever subscription, some (including me) have not.

I'm so glad you shared this, & more importantly, that this person was reported & fired. Security is meant to protect people, & he was ironically doing the exact opposite of his intended job -- harassing people.

Yeah just looking at the guy...he looks like a jerk. I am so glad that he was dealt with, people really need to have more compassion for others. Seeing people like him makes me sick, I love people of all different genders, races, and backgrounds. People like him need to be taught to respect others, obiously he was not raised right as a child. Of course it's easy to make fun of people when you are lacking yourself. I wish I was there at the time, I love the rose and my little cousin does too. She looks up to them and it is so immature to make fun of someone just because of their race. I'm glad that he is being dealt with and I am sorry for all the fans that this guy hurt.
