Many Zep fans didn't care for this effort. They completed the whole album in just 19 days . I love it
My favorite album
I also love it 🥰
One of their best, Jimmy was going through withdrawals, plant just got out of the hospital with barely staying alive. Very loud angry and emotional album
It's aged well though!
The phased out guitar intro, the insane harmonica solo, Pages great solo and funky rhythm playing, Jones bass all brought together via a Bonzo hammering , the drums are insane.
Favourite track on this album! Killer harmonica.
2nd behind achilles for me
Led Zeppelin...not enough words to ever describe the greatness!!🎵🎶💜
hands down the greatest drummer ever!!!!!!
An excellent song inspired partially by Blind Willie Johnson. You hit the nail on the head exactly; Jimmy often said the 4 of them performing had almost an ESP amongst them. They just knew they could soar wherever they wanted. It was also a big part of disbanding after Bonzo's passing - how do you find someone with ESP? Someone else could learn the songs but how do you teach Bonzo's "feel" or touch? Bonzo was once in a lifetime.
this is the one, the funk just hits like no other to me! BANGER
Bonham and JPJ killing the rhythm section. Robert can blow that harp!
This song is one of the nastiest pieces of pure rock that Zeppelin ever produced. It was almost like when their backs were against the wall, the band pulled out maybe the heaviest piece of rock they'd ever done, and that's including "Black Dog", "When The Levee Breaks" and "Whole Lotta Love".
The Zep album that came out as my teen years and EARS turned to rock music. Now I am about to turn 60 and this still rocks my socks!
Same here. Just turned 60 and unfortunately didn't get into them until 40 years ago. No other has topped it for me ever since! Wishing you a very Happy 60th!!!
My Son blasts the neighborhood with this one! It was great live too
Anytime you get to hear/see Robert playing harmonica…you know it’s a banger!!!
The other cool thing is Robert Plant Matching his voice to the guitar and almost Having a back and forth conversation with the guitar. And they do that in a few songs. It always sounds awesome.
And as far as them being in sync... That's what made some of their live performances so legendary. They literally lived inside each other's minds And they knew exactly what the other ones were going to do before they did it Based on a few key sounds. I'm always amazed and I always enjoy newcomers to Led Zeppelin. When they realize how different their styles are, they realize that it's not what they thought it was, and they realize how talented these guys are. There's a reason why they are always consistently ranked in the top. Basically, 1 or 2 top bands of all time. Sorry about the random punctuation my phone is driving me crazy.
This is one of their songs that is occasionally my favorite Zep song. It’s in the rotation cause I can’t ever have one favorite.
The message is kinda to the point of people who want to get in your business and tell you how to live. ‘If I don’t get to heaven it’s nobody’s fault but mine. Don’t try to save my soul, I’m good. I’ll be over here rolling a joint if you need me.’
I don’t agree with that life, but hey, people are free to make their choices.
Presence is among my favorite Led Zeppelin albums, now you understand why! A phenomenal band still on the top of their game…
I believe "those stops" make the versatility and control of this band over the music, legendary. The emotion explodes exponentially with this kind of expertise. God Bless and Thank You for your reaction friend. cheers.
You are truly into it , ha . That harmonica kills
This track caught them at a very intense time in the bands history. Although I have heard a lot of live versions of this song, none of them captured the raw intenseness of the studio cut....which is as powerful and nasty as anything they ever did.
this is my fav track
When I want to turn someone on to Zeppelin I play this song. It has all the elements of Zeppelin. #HammerOfTheGods
One of my favorite Led Zeppelin songs!
Favorite from this album, and top 5 of all their studio tracks.
Lets go rhythm section 🤌🏼🥁🎸 another masterpiece from Zeppelin 🙌🏼
the rhythm guitar being played behind the harmonica solo and guitar solo is off the charts too. Can really hear it if you wear good quality head phones.
Man, you're a delight to watch while you're listening, you're like really listening to the music and engaging with it.
Zeppelin always on top of their game!!✌️
Outstanding, biz.
My personal favorite zep tune
In my top 5 Zep tracks. ❤❤❤❤❤
This song absolutely MUST be turned way the Ef up! Keep em comin! I love this entire album!
Thanks for reaction it's my favorite zeppelin song
BIZ - U in the BIG LEAGUES NOW, Son. Zeppelin unlike anything else, trust. PEACE.
I play bass (used to be semi-pro in college I tell you hwat) and there was one cover band I played in where me and the drummer were on the same page with that kind of ESP, one of the best musical experiences of my life even though it wasn't original work. We both knew that no matter what happened we were listening for each other and could do anything we needed to cover mistakes or extend the song. Even still, can only imagine how these guys felt playing together with Bonham behind them.
You said it man, in their element they were undefeatable.
One of my favorites too 😊 Glad you liked it.
Awesome song! I agree...they are unbeatable!!
This brilliant track amongst some many elements coming together highlights the impeccable timing of Bonham and of course his power! You nailed it Biz with your comments regarding the way his drums are totally in sync with Page's riffs 👍
My favorite Zeppelin song
love this album
I f-ckin luv watching the Biz go into a Zeppelin trance!!¡ New you would luv this tune bro!!
Hi , nice to see you again vibing to Led Zep !
Love this song, one of my favs!
Robert Plant recorded 'Presence' from in a wheelchair following that bad car accident he was in prior..
I used to poke at Page's remastering episodes but he clearly brings these songs to fullest. Great song!
Oh How You Got It!! Two absolute Monster Songs!! NFBM is a terrific song, the play between Pages' slide guitar work and Plants' vocals is amazing, then add the bass, drums and harmonica ... Hot D*!! Pointing out this song and Achilles, ya you get it. Two songs true Zep fans love and put near the top of the bands long list of great tunes. Both song Kick and the guitar work in Achilles Last Stand..... Sublime!
Have watched since you first heard Zep, it has been quite the ride and have been enjoyed watching you become a fan. Takes me back to listening those first times and just being blown away how every album was different yet still grabbed your soul.
Thanks
As a kid of 14, I was just getting into Zeppelin when John Bonham died. They really opened me up to all sorts of music I might never have heard otherwise, the blues and particularly Robert Johnson, Howlin Wolf and Muddy Waters, as well as 60's blues-inspired classic rock, Jimi Hendrix... even jazz and funk later on...
When I first heard this album I was kind of disappointed, it was much different than their earlier albums I guess, but I always like d the one and Achilles Last Stand. The whole thing holds up a lot better today then it did back then.
I love this song and the underrated album it's on. One of my favorite Zeppelin tunes, and that's saying a lot. I keep hoping to see more of my favorite reactors reacting to this tune. Is this the most killer harmonica solo you've ever heard or what? The guitar solo that follows it is pretty dope too. Then it builds up to the ending and goes for the kill. I spent a lot of time in college playing this song very loud for my neighbors.
Another great cover by Led Zeppelin. The original was written by Blind Willie Johnson.
"I got a monkey on my back back", love it🙊
Los silencios son Geniales !!!!!!!!!!!!!! (como todo lo de ZEPP)
Presence is probably the most underrated album of the 70's.
Bonzo's drumming on this is insane! 🥁😎
This is the most badass song of all time
Ooh Robert on that harmonica!
Correct... Bonham followed Page and locked in.
This tune is on my top 10 LZ list!! The stops are 'pregnant pauses' love them!! Great review!
I’m the same. I could never narrow down a favorite. I have a fav or two on every album :)
Once again YOU just absolutely get it, they were in sync with each other from their first meeting. A Bonham always followed the lead guitar and not the bass. That is the way I play drums in my band.
Great song off of a Top Shelve album! Every song Rocks!
☮️🤘🤙
lol, that was truly fantastic! Not too often I get to chuckle at a black cat trying to catch the beat. The distortion on the guitar done it, lol.. You're channel is great!
Thanks fam
Perfection.
Love that smile when the beat drops 🎼🥁🔥♥️
Great track!!! 👌✌😁
Tea for one is going to take you to another place can't wait to see it
It's a guitar synth in the beginning. One of the first times it was used in the studio, I believe.
Sorry Derek. Not a guitar synth. A phase shifter
The effect at the beginnig on Jimmy's guitar is Jimmy himself messing with two copies of his guitar tape track in the studio, and recording the outcome, which in this case is something between 'phasing' and 'flanging' :)
I love this album. In Through the Out Door also has a lot of good songs. ✌️
Yup. I think he'll be pleasantly surprised by the diversity on that album
Great album, great song.
I saw another video on you tube explaining why John Bonham was such a unique drummer. It explains most drummers play a beat and sync up with the bassist. But Bonham would often sync with Page and Jones would follow. They also did alot with different timing and beats. Really interesting to watch
Take no prisoners album. Brilliant. Brutal.
You've got a good ear for what's going on Biz. Jimmy Page and John Bonham are completely in sync. JPJ also right in the pocket with them. Ironic that the song your reaction bled into was In My Time of Dying where exactly the same interplay is going. Both are in my top LZ songs 0f all. Plant improvizes around it. When you're done with this album in 2 more songs, I will give you my list of fav songs and albums by them. Peace.
Another great Led Zep tune that when it begins, you just know what’s coming……..
Yes, more Zeppelin!
Brilliant Album pretty heavy for Zep compared to the others 🎸🎸🎸🔥👌😎
Oh yes! Been waiting for this one 🔥
Light it up.....
Their best imho!✌🤘
John B. followed Jimmy mostly , not John Paul ,you have that right..
Zeppelin only released eight albums between 1969 and 1979, and it seems funny to hear soneone say "Maybe this wasn't one of their top albums" about any one of those releases, But I guess it only seems funny because back then they were unanimously praised by all as 'The band at the very top.." Every album was a Zeppelin album, so there were very few people who dared to measure the quality of their work. Some would claim that 'Four' was the greatest, I personally love Houses of the Holy above the rest.
Bonham was the first and the best to play the drum groove to the guitar riff he takes off in this song
How funny I was shuffling my music and this popped up it’s one of my favorite Zeppelin songs . You need to check out his solo albums. Little by Little and Tall Cool One and Heaven Knows are some great songs. Nananana nobody’s fault but mine!! That is Plant on the harmonica.🤘🤘🤘
No skips
You need to listen to the original by Blind Willie Johnson, just to see what the roots of this song are. It will probably make you appreciate it even more... like how'd they hear that, and end up with this? 🧐😎
Love the Zepp videos man!! Keep them coming
You're starting to see why this might be their best!

"Oh Jimmy"....
More Presence
This album has fewer hits and marked a the transition into harder music. Pop fans started to fall away. I love Presence. It's up there with Physical Graffiti for me. Zep 1-4 are the "good" albums for me. This is one of the masterpieces
That Bonham fat beat.
THE deepest pocket
In general, the songs on Presence (one "s" :-) leave me cold-ish -- the songs are catchy, but they don't reach down into my soul like much of their earlier catalog. Tea for One is the notable 'heartfelt' exception.
To my ears the guitar solo in this always sounded like a close to note for note recreation of the harmonica solo that was played earlier in the song.
As I sit here waiting for Bonhom to kick in
My fave track.
Saw them live in Jacksonville Florida 1969. I was 18. Police turned on lights in Colosseum while they were playing 'Communication Breakdown' cause someone or two had stood up to dance! Irony anyone?
Rules back then were based on fear of ' that dangerous rock n roll & long hair hippies'.
Such bullshit but these were f#cked up times.
You mean they terminated the concert early or did they allow it to continue eventually?
It was last song, n sheriff pulled the plug onstage , turned up lights...primitive macho southern s#it. Del kept playing, some people on floor started chucking folding chairs...think they plugged back in but lights stayed on...Breakdown was solo appropriate in Jax back then.
Spell 'correction' ridiculous... Del is Zep....
So...not solo....Jax was as red as Georgia....kind of still is....but Lynerd Skynnard (sp) turned it into swag.
Have you done any Tom Waits songs? Hoist that Rag is one of my favorites
They played this song at their 02 reunion and proved they could still deliver the goods.

The thing with Zep is they have some great songs that have some less-than-great portions. This is one of the greatest licks ever, but the opening ahh-ahh-ahh-ahhh stuff is not so great.
When bonham died and they decided to quit... The only true answer was in the DNA.... Jason Bonham!
