Luke Kelly, Ireland's National Treasure taken from us way too soon. Our eternal son, gone but never forgotten! He has since been joined by Ronnie and most of The Dubliners who are up above having a rare old sing song with Paddy Moloney of The Chieftains and Paul Furey of The Furey Brothers, with the odd pint of Guinness thrown in! RIP lads! 💚💚

Meeting Luke and Banjo Mc Kenna in a pub in Germany in about 1982 was one of my life's highlights, I was shocked to see the boys there but there was one certainty, the Germans loved the Dubliners...A sessiun broke out as Banjos appeared from nowhere and Luke sang Raglan road, due to the amount of cheering and clapping the Poliezi arrived and within a few minutes they joined in the fun ..What a night , totally unexpected for everyone including Luke and Barney they had just sneaked away from the hotel for a quiet drink..When I left the cops were getting Luke and Barneys autographs..At that time the Dubliners were massive in West Germany as it was then ...

I don't think there will ever be a better version or rendition, Luke nailed it. Job done. I just wonder if he had his own particular favorite, this is certainly one of mine. Respect, wish I could play like you.

Even as a Scotsman I have always loved the Dubliners music, but Luke was something else
so sad he was taken so early in his life.😢

Went to Raglan Road of an Autumn day and met no fair maiden. There were the occasional tourists looking at Paddy Kavanagh's house. Not sure if they were members of the Paddy Kavanagh or Luke Kelly fan club as I didn't have the gift of many tongues. Lovely street
