- The new Mercedes CLA comes in many body styles outside the US, and we got a 250 "Shooting Brake" - (it's a wagon) to drive around Germany on our recent Pilgrimage trip. We go car spotting in downtown Frankfurt, reflect on the difficulty of wagons in the US, and find the good and bad of this new Mercedes.

When I think about a wagon in the US .. it's Chevy Chase with the wood side panels.
yes
WHOOO FINALLY A
OFC U HAD TO CROSS THE FKN OCEAN TO DRIVE A WAGON lmao
so sad basically no german wagons since 2010 :((
wish we classified wagons as light trucks here; ppl would buy the shit outta them
I just have a tough time getting over the image of a Mercedes image here in the US. Maybe Europe is different, but here they have worked hard to create an elite (read snobby and pretentious in my mind) marquee, and it just doesn’t sit well with me; I’ve known too many Mercedes owners.
I think Mercedes is loosing that kind of Image here in Europe and driving a Mercedes(lower classes A,B,CLA,..) is as normal as driving a Volkswagen for example. I just ordered the shooting brake myself and I'm far from snobby. 😅
CUV or suv is the big thing in europe as well. Sedan, wagon less and less...
What? A wagon in the US? Wait no :(
Plywood in the back makes it a truck? The whole thing was hilariously inaccurate!
You're not going 150 mph from Frankfurt to Munich in Germany. that's bullsh*t. There are more limitations then you would excpect in Germany. It's 270 miles. Why the heck am I talking in miles?
