What I noticed about this make and model and had came to my attention is one thing primarily, its a Parallel V-Twin. This means smooth powerfull delivery.
Don’t know much about motors, or motorcycles for that matter but my grandfathers old bike has been sitting in our garage for years so I’m going to attempt to refurbish it. This really helped! Thank you :D
Hopefully it's working out well for you! If you're mechanically inclined, you will probably find a way to make it work -- CZcams and forums most likely have all the info you'll need (though a manual would probably be nice too!)
Working on mine now I just lost blinker capability and trying to find relay , plus I’d love to have that windshield if your not gonna use it what’s the price?
Derek Dvorak yeah, it's a bit of a change. Right now, this is my current adventure on Loyventures, working on a Venture :-P I want to get back to building things, and customizing things, and such; I'll still be flying, I just need a bit of a break from it so I can get my hands dirty with a different project :-)
I've got an 83 Venture 1200 and I 'think' I figured out my running problem. Short story; it ran great on 2 hour ride up north here in Mi last year. After stopping and then riding again it ran out of power finally stopped running. Been giving me fits since. I think I've narrowed it down to a fuel delivery problem & it looks as if I'll need to either pull the tank or at least break it loose to change the petcock on the tank. (I strapped a Sportster tank on where the trunk fits and rode it a bit today and it didn't seem to wanna run out of power) So my question is, do you have any knowledge of what's involved in removing the fuel tank or at least breaking it loose to service the fuel petcock?
Unfortunately, I did not go that far. My Petcock is frozen open as well. But since I am replacing the entire tank with a Backbone mounted tank, I'm not too worried about it. I pulled the tank by removing the entire rear portion of the frame. If you watch my Next video or two on it, you can see ive only got half the bike together at this point. More to come as the weather get's nice enough for me to get into the Garage again.
I have a 1989 Yamaha 1300 like that, i’m tippy toying as well. My air controls have an error message and do not work, So now I’m wondering if I can let the air out of the rear to make the bike shorter
Definitely curious to see the rest of the process. I just got two matching 83 venture 1200’s and plan on keeping one stock and changing the other. What are your plans for all the plastics/ bags/ and seat? I love would gladly take them off your hands if you’re not planning on using them.

Holy shit! That bike looks like it’s a vmax and it also looks amazing with the bags off of it!!
Yeah, it's the bike and motor they based the vmax off of. plan was to bob it out and add cams and have a vmax XD
I have a 83 venture royale … had zip strips and rad hose clamps holding body parts on😂
Any info on how to get the starter off ?
JUST PICK ONE UP.

Should be pretty sweet! The venture is basically just a VMax with a ton of extra touring garbage slapped on so… could call this the poor man’s VMax…
That was the idea, Till i got the Ultimatum from the wife... It's all good though, I got myself a nice Stryker out of it.
that's a change up from flying quads. but im ok with that as I too like to fix up things.

How’s the bike coming along now? I’m considering getting the same bike as a project!
wellll.... czcams.com/video/eq8KbJIC8wM/video.html
What happened to this bike? Did you finish it? I have a 90 Venture Royale and I'm curious about this project.
Never mind, I just found your other update video. Booooo. 😁
Yeah... but Hey, I got a Stryker out of the negotiations, so....
