And the argument is that if guns were less easy to buy they wouldn't need one. Not that that is necessarily the answer but as an Englishman Gavin probably isn't used to a country where gun violence is encouraged.

Imagining Gavin having to remain happy and appear on the podcast after that just makes my heart hurt. I can't possibly imagine having to go through that. I'm very glad he and meg are safe.
I'm sure they both have PTSD and I hope they got the proper help afterwards. The fact they are still together is a good sign however. Usually couple who go through a traumatic event together and are suffering from PTSD and don't deal with it end up breaking up.
That's crazy... it would be hard to get over that. I mean home should feel safe but after something like that it really must feel vulnerable.

@@JBadAss98Gameing They called people trained to deal with such situations. Who, despite all their training, still miss their targets more often than not. Expecting Gavin or Meg to have shot the person is asinine. Most people don't want to kill anyone; even people that intend to do them harm first.
How do people even know where they live? Gavin seems like the most private person, as far as his private life is concerned.

And thanks to the papers we can pretty much figure it out now since they did all but print longitude and latitude of their home. I’m so glad they’re ok but I really hope they move and never record from their personal home again. I’m not blaming them in any way FWIW.

The look in Gavin's eyes when he said his thanks, his face has changed. Gavin's eyes and mouth in past videos have always had sort of a bright, childlike look in them. The experience must have impacted him deeply.
Went to high school with the intruder. It's crazy to see what becomes of some people you grow up sitting next to in class.

I'm glad you guys are safe. That is a terrifying thing to have happen, and I hope you get the mental and emotional counseling and support from friends and family to make sure that you are both okay, and stay okay.

I'm so so glad they're safe. Having to go through a situation like that is absolutely terrible and they did not deserve it. I hope they can continue having some kind of peace in their lives, because I'd just be living in paranoia.
I was so scared when I saw the first article, my heart was in my throat and I was honestly on the verge of tears. Even though it immediately said that it had been in the past in January, that I'd seen him in multiple things filmed since (and Meg in the 10 mil video) and knew for a fact he was ok. It was hard enough losing Monty, who as awesome as he was, wasn't in too many videos, and I didn't have nearly as strong an emotional (one sided) connection to him as I do others that are on screen personalities. I can't even begin to imagine losing one of AH, or the podcast crew, or the live action boys, anyone else from animation/crwby. Just imagining if it had been the Joneses, or Ryan, or Burnie and Ashley, or Geoff, the ones with kids. and the personalities that could lead them to try and take them on and not hide with the family. I know Gavin was smart and hid, I know he's safe, I've seen him walk and talk and smile since then, but just too many what ifs. Thank everything the shooter didn't find them, and gave up and left, and that the police were there that fast, that we didn't lose the bird boy.

This is nearly five months later and I had no idea this had happened!!!
Apparently, a "Fan" who police have been described as "Lonely, single and deeply disturbed", broke into their house, and fired a gunshot.
When police arrived, he was ordered to surrender. It appears that the intruder then turned his gun upon himself.
What a messed up situation to be in. I hope Gavin and Meg are both safe and get the support they need. I mean, a guy drove 11 hours to their house, broke in, and then blew his brains out on their doorstep. That kinda shit doesn't go away quickly.

If the worse had come to pass, I don't think Roosterteeth could have ever recovered emotionally. Losing Monty was a tough blow by itself. But compound that by losing Gavin and Meg to some lunatic? I don't know how they'd be able to go back to work after that. :(
Imagine hiding in a wardrobe from some 'fan' with a gun in your house at night. It would've been scarier for Gavin because the guy was obsessed with Meg and hurting her would be the last thing he would've done.
I only just heard about this... what a horrible thing to have happened. What a truly awful thing. How does a person become so twisted as to do something like that? And how could it have been prevented?... a more integrated society where people interact face to face and form bonds more meaningful than their obsessions with strangers on the internet?... ah, fuck, I'm just glad they're okay............. I mean, the insane part is that it happened to people we see every day (through their videos). There are pretty regular cases like this one every so often, but it almost always was from people I have never heard of so I didn't care that much.

Also @Angel Cravalho I'm pretty sure (like 100% sure) it is like 2 days earlier for Firsts and 1 day earlier for the site's regular member, then YT.
Certain videos are shown LIVE on the website, than also uploaded to the website after some editing (I believe), then a day or two later they're on CZcams. Game play videos are up a day early on the site, podcasts are usually a day or two on the website before going to CZcams, if they're videos for EVERYONE to eventually see.
And RvB and RWBY is up a week early I think

When did I ever say that? I think in any experience of tragedy or death or anything of the sort, those affected deserve respect and the chance to heal. What I think happens too often, in the case of something like this or another God-forsaken school shooting is people taking that tragedy and using it to advocate for their own point. It happens enough in the joke of a political system we have now, but it *doesn't* need to happen on CZcams.

Also based on reports the intruder was going into there for the kill. He was jealous of Gavin and wanted meg for himself. He wasn't just an robber he was there for "revenge"

BSPN first off, in the past recent shootings there is a lot more going on then, they all just got their guns legally. Some of then weren’t even old enough to purchase firearms, and got them through negligence of their peers. And also, it makes 0 sense that just because maybe these criminals got their guns legally, that innocent, law abiding people shouldn’t own a firearm as protection. Its quite simple, if someone breaks into your home armed, your chances of survival increase if you are armed, whether it be bat, knife, or yes, a gun.

Another thing to add to this is that from what I know, Gavin doesn’t like guns. There are not only tweets about it after horrible events, but in an episode of the slowmo guys (I think it was the super slow show to be specific) they were testing speeds of different rifles and handguns. Gavin made Dan fire all of them, while he was off camera. I believe he actually had said that he didn’t like them, but even if he hadn’t, one can kind of see that.
