This one actually looked salvageable. People in the States are buying up old mobile homes and 'caravans' (we call them campers) and re-doing them. I'm amazed at how much room this caravan had.
They have a lot of space because they are designed not be moved regularly, those caravans are much smaller!
I agree; that would be paradise living for a homeless person. Oh well; they have a plan and working hard and getting there. Great job. I enjoy your videos. Thanks.
Hi both, we are a mixed age couple who like yourselfs embarked on a life changing mission to improve our lifestyle and be closer to our grandchildren. Its great to see a young couple achieving so much and we appreciate the dedication and hard work you are putting into your dream whilst inspiring others. We are older and as a couple of dinosaurs have sadly only recorded our renovation through photographs. 5 years ago we bought a coal board house in South Wales and stripped it back to four walls and a roof and have now completed 95% of the renovation. We have been fortunate enough to have enjoyed off grid and camping holidays and have passed our love of the outdoors to our grandchildren, hence we have included an outdoor play area using all natural materials for our 2year old grandson, whilst our 8 & 11 year old grandson have an area where they learn bushcraft from grandad and enjoy a firepit, outdoor cooking, logging etc, both able to use and axe safely now. The iveaway camera would be an ideal addition to their outdoor area as we are close to the river and forest and enjoy a occasional siting of a fox, 2 owls, bats and who knows what else and it would be perfect for the children to have night vision filming to monitor activity whilst offering us the added security opportunity for our property. Once again for sharing your adventure with us and good luck for your future.
Thanks so much for watching and for taking the time to comment to us. I hope you know what incredible grandparents you both are and how lucky your grandchildren are to have you! ❤ Your comment has made our night. Our nephews visited last month (they are 8 & 6) and when they left they asked if we would buy them an axe for Christmas! We loved how much they wanted to help! So much so that one of our nephews picked up a saw and said 'just give me something to cut, anything' 😂 they were ready to be put to work! Thanks so much for entering. The contest ends on the 30th of this month and a winner will be picked at random. I wish we could give EVERYONE a camera! Thank you so much for watching and entering. We really appreciate you x
What's a mixed aged couple? What does it mean?
A couple with an age difference, my husband if 18 years older than me. We have been very fortunate to have enjoyed 38 years together and have 3 wonderful sons.
Thank you for replying, your channel gives us something to look forward too. We hope your nephews enjoy the opportunity they have with you both and that they get an axe for xmas. When our 2 eldest grandsons were youger Grandad bought them "junior" penknives whilst on holiday in France (we take them every year to a campsite on the river Dordogne where they learn't to river swim) they spent their whole holiday whittling sticks, maki g little rafts and racing them, we had so much fun. Our son, their Daddy, upgraded the penknives this year whilst we were all on holiday as they have listened and learn't about safety and needed to move their skills on. Our youngest didn't want to miss the action although he's only 2 half years old so his Daddy collects twigs from the walnut trees with loose bark and gave him a butter knive to strip them, he is now quite an accomplished bark stripper! The 2 eldest ones have recently been helping Grandad strip bark from treetrunks and they are all going to make a ranch style porch for the house. It's very exciting & satisfying having all these little helpers and saves them from constant xbox use!!!!! Carry on the good work both and recruit your nephews as budding little labourers, they have a great opportunity to learn so many life skills and to have safety drilled into them without even realising it. Have fun.
my husband loves watching the birds we feed. Hes recently had major heart surgery which leaves him very fatigued. I would use the camera so he can still see the birds and garden. woukd be a great 50th birthday present for him. x
I love how you reduce/reuse/recycle everything you can. So many people think that they can't make a difference in saving our planet, but if everyone pitched in the way you two are doing, the difference CAN be felt! Keep up the great work!
Sad to see people aren't respecting your home, hopefully this new set up deters further intrusions 🤞🏻
Thanks for letting us follow your journey, we're loving it 🙂
We'd use the camera to watch the local foxes 🦊
Wonderful to see your home taking shape. Must be so hard to have full time jobs and work on your land etc while providing you tube updates. Hope you have great success with everything as you are a really nice genuine couple who people can relate to and be inspired by. Keep up the amazing work
Oh Paul, thanks so much for watching and for taking the time to comment. It's been slow and steady progress but we are excited for weddings to slow down over winter so we can have some more time to spend on the land 😊 thanks again for taking the time to comment!
I love that you keep asking Jon of he is happy. ❤
I am from the United States. While watching I am enjoying the differences in names of things and salutations. For example we call caravans trailers or mobile homes. Maggy is a joy. This is a happy stumble upon.
We have neighbours across the road that have questionable revenue streams that require the local police to visit occasionally… we really need to monitor these situations to keep our family and property safe. Thanks for sharing this new journey with us.
Your potential issue here is you may make yourself a target of a hate campaign, ie having a camera pointing that way. So be careful! But certainly up for you winning the camera :)
Sorry to hear that, hope you and your property is safe! We are spending new years eve catching up on our comments (we've got just over 2,000 to work through) Sorry you didn't win but can't wait to share with you what we've got coming up. Happy new year! Emilie, Jon & Maggie xxx
GIVEAWAY! As a big thank you to all of you for watching and supporting our renovation journey, we asked Reolink if we could have an extra Argus 3 pro security camera for you guys to WIN! Reolink! To Enter: Just let us know in the comments section here, where you’d use your security camera if you won!
The Details: 1 x winner will be selected at random on the 30th October. The prize reolink.com/gb/product/argus-3-pro/ will be sent directly to the winner from Reolink.
I'm a mobile tyre fitter in Merseyside. We are the last house on our estate, at the end of a cul-de-sac, and recently at 4am in the morning we had a "character" knocking on our windows and door, trying to get in. I was awake downstairs (I have trouble sleeping some days) and heard a gentle knock on the window which frightened the life out of me. What was more scary was the fact this person then pulled our door handle down trying to get in.
A neighbour who had returned from a late night out noticed someone coming from behind my van and walk to our house. She thought it was me returning from an emergency call-out, but it wasn't!
It would be amazing if we had a security camera like the one you have, especially with the very loud alarm it has! The ability to talk via the camera is brilliant too, and the night-vision is an added bonus too!
We'd love one at the back of our home due to an increase in anti social behaviour and criminal damage to property. So far we've managed to deter these youths but neighbours haven't so it's only a matter of time. Frightening when you spend long periods on your own when partner is working. Great show by the way😍
Our workshop is near but not visible from our house and keeps getting broken into so a camera like this would give us peace of mind knowing we could see what is going on.
I’d install this overlooking our garden. We’ve got a neighbour that likes to come to our property to shout vile abuse at us and police have recommended we fit CCTV to gather evidence. This would be perfect.
I would use this at the back of my house we live in a city centre and get lots of people cutting through the back of our house we have 2 old ladies living on there own opposite and it would be nice just to be able to see what's going on and that they are also safe
Its really nice to see normal people doing this sort of thing. By normal, I don't mean it negatively, cause you guys are remarkable for doing this, but you're relatable. You make it seem like something achievable. So often I see tiny living people who are already well established. It's neat to see the process. Appreciate it.
Ann 🧡 thank you so much for watching and for taking the time to comment to us. I think it's easy to feel like things are out of reach ( I know we used to think like that and would talk ourselves out of things) so I'm so pleased we are showing people that this is achievable, even if you don't have a endless budget, you can make it work!
I built a steel framed van in 1969. The steel was 3/4"sq. When you start on the chassis, do the under floor works, the floor, the frame to line up with cupboards, glue the lining (we used coronite back then) with building adhesive and joining strips then fasten the cupboards from the outside, gas and wiring and finally the skin then the windows & vents. Make sure the frame is made to line up with the cupboards. Seal everything to keep the bugs out. Perhaps a cover or workshop before you start?😁
My elderly In-Laws just moved in with us. I'd love the camera, which will help give the peace of mind having left their home of 33 years. Love the channel. Good luck with your adventure.
We hope you and your in-laws had a lovely christmas together! We have 5 months off from tomorrow, so we can focus on camp out west and filming full time before weddings start again! Sorry you didn't win but can't wait to share with you what we've got coming up. Happy new year! Emilie, Jon & Maggie xxx
Loving the channel and all the destruction! Can’t wait to see the new build house go up.
I’d use my camera to watch my gigantic German shepherd whilst I’m at work. Make sure he isn’t slacking protecting the house from all the cats 😂
Hmmmm! Something strangely satisfying about watching you destroy the caravan!😂
THB I thought the brush cutter did really well considering it had been standing for so long and the stuff it was clearing!
Hope you get it running again soon!
Can’t wait for the next episode!👍😊❤️
We were so gutted when it stopped working 😅 but excited to get it back up and running again! I think Jon enjoys smashing up the caravan too haha!
The mower was a beast shame it broke. I live in a very urban area in the city and often have problems with people fly tipping in my back garden. Usually this is in the middle of the night when they think no one will be watching. One of these Reolink systems would be perfect, I am in.
The one caravan you destroyed actually looked OK,same as the wood. The floor could easily be replaced, but it also depends on the chassis. The wood ,can be used as kindling. Salvage what you can, everything comes in useful at some point.
I love to have finally found a small house build in the UK 🇬🇧. I love how you guys are doing everything yourselves, even smashing the old caravans up. The real link camera looks amazing I would love to use it to watch the wildlife in the garden ❤
I agree, so many I watch are ppl living in Portugal, Spain or France, nice to see the UK for once.
Thanks so much Martyn! Now that I think about it, most tiny house build or homesteds we've seen on youtube has been based in Portugal, I guess that's because the land prices are cheaper over there. Thanks so much more watching & entering 😊❤
@@imeldadiaz4164 Thanks so much Imelda ❤

Dang it....another Lucy won! Congratulations other Lucy x
I love that you are trying to salvage where you can. It's so often you see people just toss things rather than try and repair. I am currently trying to fix my own home. If I had a camera like that I think I would put it near my front door as we have a very busy street and I would want to watch for package thieves.
I feel your pain about trespassers We have been vandalised once, another time we even had someone come onto our property, shoot one of our sheep and leave with the carcass. Her poor lamb didn't know what was happening. I heard the gun shot, but my hubby was away working and I was not going down through the bush to the bottom paddock at 9pm at night in the dark. Needless to say we were furious. We have also had people turn up and steal our wood. This old guy was in our paddock helping himself to timber we had cut. When we found him and asked 'what the hell are you doing?' it was like 'ooh this isn't private land, its forestry'. I asked him how he figured that because he went past the letterbox, through fencing and there was cows, a mini horse and sheep grazing in a paddock. Needless to say we have several hunting (with night vision) cameras all over our 48 acre property. However, we always forget to charge the batteries. I will look into that product it seems a great solution for property owners as well as domestic housing. I should also mention the time we had some yobbo's turn up at the house (500m from the road) during a fire event that was only a few km's away from the house. "Oh we thought we would go up this road and look for the fire!!". Honestly, we told them they were idiots, to drive up a road (our private road) they didn't know, to chase a fire. Final words were - get off our land.
So as a property owner - hang onto your hat. You are in for a wild ride. The number of idiots that are out there is astounding. Having said all of the above - these things happened over a couple of years. But when you think you have seen it all, someone else does something stupid or criminal. All the best to you all and give the prize to someone else who is more deserving. We have our crazy covered.
Sorry to hear that! it's sad how many people just invade peoples privacy and homes. The solar option has been a game charger for us, otherwise we'd forget to charge them too. We hope you've had a lovely christmas and have a trespasser free new year! can't wait to share with you what we've got coming up. Happy new year! Emilie, Jon & Maggie xxx
Re: Bearing. If you've got a digital caliper you can get the measurements of the bearing if you take it off carefully. If you have the inner and outer measurements you won't need to buy one especially for your machine, one that will fit will do. This will help get the price down - starting around £3 on ebay. You'll find them listed by size on ebay. If the machine is imperial rather than metric sized (inches not mm) you may find that you'll need to get the size in fractions of an inch, if you haven't done this before. Also, there are going to be a lot of videos on youtube on how to fit bearings - if you freeze them overnight, it will contract in size, being a fraction smaller helps get it fitted into the outer housing and you may find that it fits the shaft well too. You'll probably need to wetsand the shaft to clean it and make it easier to fit. I don't know if the top or the bottom would come off easier - it may be better to hit it with penetrating fluid (possibly heat as well) to be able to dismantle it to get the bearing size. Knocking the bearing back into place is normally done with a socket that is the same size as the outer (avoid denting or damaging it) and using a washer with the same inner diameter as the bearing with something like a socket for a spark plug if you don't have one the right size. When you've done that reassembling with strong threadlocker because it will vibrate, will aid a good repair. Checking the balance of the blade may also be worthwhile - you may be able to take it off and put it on a pivoting balance to check the weight is the same on both sides - if it isn't, it won't spin without wearing the bearing further - this is why blades are replaced when they look ok, seem to perform well but can wear other components out. If you need to take a little weight off, using an angle grinder to sharpen the blade may be all you need to do. As for the electrics.... I'd put the camera near my back gate so I can watch my neighbours cats having a scrap...
Thanks Stephen, when I've got some time I will take the hub and blade assembly off to see the damage and measure up for the bearings as long as the shaft looks ok. I spoke to a guy randomly in a supermarket carpark the other day that had a scag 48 inch cut mower on his trailer, he's gave me a place about 40 mins from us he gets bearings from to go and checkout and also mentioned that tip of freezing the bearings before trying to fit them, I've got a big old vice so might be able to use that and the socket/hammer combo to get the bearings in, if that fails the mechanic we use for our vehicles is only 5 mins down the road and he has a hydraulic press. I need to ideally get a bunch of new nuts and bolts for the machine and go round it all and threadlock everything as quite a few things came loose whilst using it, think I was a bit to keen to get to work. Thanks for taking the time to comment and share your knowledge, much appreciated, thanks Stephen 🤙
@@joncampoutwest A couple of points might be worth mentioning - nylock nuts will stay on just as well as threadlocked and are probably preferred but are more expensive. Also, the service you had carried out wasn't cheap at £100 and maybe if you asked the mechanic who did it if they should have checked if there was any noise from the bearings. if it included a new carb, he probably gave you a really good deal. if you ask him politely if he can remember, he may or may not be able to assist - he may have done a great job and might not want to think it's his responsibility. You could review the video you've got - if you repeatedly hit divots you may want to change your style of mowing and possibly use a rake to check the surface with two of you working together. It may not have been the mowing angle and what the blade was hitting - when the new bearing goes on make sure the seals are covering the bearings because grit getting in is likely to be the cause of the problem and hopefully you won't have this again for a long time. A blob of grease on the underside of the bearing to take any debris flying up may not be a bad idea. The challenge of getting through the trees might appeal but there could be a greater chance of debris flying up and damaging the bearing seal. If you do any maintenance on it, there are mostly garden tractor type mower videos from the states or small deck mowers - not the type of mower that you have so a general maintenance video may get you a lot of views and a few quid from it - having some video of it in full working order with all the wires connected where they should be
I came here looking to see this comment, you sir are a good egg, please never change!
Hello! My partner and I have lived in a tiny home for just over 4 years now! We live on 4 acres of cleared land but in total there is 64 acres! (Land passed down from my partners family for generations.)
I just binged all of your videos, and they are so inspiring as we would like to eventually add on to our tiny home to I suppose make it a tad bit less tiny as we both need full desk set ups for work.
We would use the security camera to monitor a small portion of our huge property and it would be a great trial to see how they work and maybe order more!
Love your content and I will be watching every video drop now. I’m hooked!!
Thanks for creating and whether I win or not I think it’s absolutely amazing that you requested one as a giveaway, so thoughtful! You don’t see that much on CZcams anymore!
Just found your channel and have subscribed!
Having moved from Scotland during 2016 following a life changing health event (heart attack) I rode my motorcycle overland to Venice, caught a ferry to Patras in Greece, then onwards to near Athens to live with a woman I'd met three years previously on Facebook, you could call me the male equivalent of Shirley Valentine ! Sadly it didn't work out and I rode back to the UK.
In December 2016 I bought a Park home on the banks of the River Avon in the Cotswolds, it had been empty for some time, I spent a year ripping out the interior, new carpets, decoration, paint, curtains, furniture etc etc. Including cleaning the exterior by hand.
Also installed a wrap around timber verandah to enjoy the amazing view, 20 yards from the river !!
I'd use the camera to enhance my security without having to use electricity, a great idea!!
Thanks and best wishes for your project 👌
Thanks so much for the support Richard! Great to ready your story! Jon and I did our CBT bike tests in the summer and have a small cafe race style 125cc bike (Herald!) Hope you've been keeping warm in your Park home! Sorry you didn't win but can't wait to share with you what we've got coming up. Happy new year! Emilie, Jon & Maggie xxx
Keep up the good work , it’s amazing how much you two have achieved already. Inspirational ! Love the videos really look forward to them.
Our property consists of a hill where the entire back side of the property is unmonitored. We’d place cameras back there, pointing across that portion of the property to monitor potential trespassers and predators. We’re surrounded by corn field, but people hunt there in the fall, and we’d like to make sure that hunters mind the boundaries.
Love the new video! Was worried after watching your previous videos and no new updates, glad to see you both are continuing to work towards your future! My wife and I just moved into a new place and could really use the camera to keep an eye on our car in the drive!
The progress is great to see. Well done guys, love watching your updates!
We are from Oklahoma USA. We just bought an acre with a very decayed trailer house (mobile home). We are not tearing it down, we are rebuilding it. Slowly, over probably a year. We are living in our rv (caravan) while we fix it up.
Thoroughly enjoying watching the amazing progress guys please don't leave it so long next time !
Thanks so much for watching 😊 we will have more regular updates now wedding season has finished!
Loving your commitment to clean up and build the site yourself....I wouldn't have the energy for that. Love the channel!
How exciting being able to start from the beginning! Now to design your own little home! So cool!
Thanks Laurie! We are so excited! xx
Great video! I was surprised how well taken care of was the last caravan. Those cameras are amazing 😮 so many cool features like the alarm 🚨. So exited for your journey! 😊
Hi again Emily and John.
I'm gonna start by telling you a story for my entry for the camera. In 2003 my Dad decided that he wanted to give his house to me and my brother before he died. As the house was in fairly bad state and needed a lot of renovating, rewiring and re-plumbing, we had it valued and that came to about £45,000. My brother gave me 20K for my half of the house.
WIth the money I took and passed my motorcycle test at the age of 38. Also all the gear needed for said bike for both myself and my lovely wife.
Fast forward 20 years and 36,000 miles of blissful fun and 3 months ago my beloved motorcycle was stolen from right outside my house with full locks on both the back and front wheels. And that was the last I have seen of it, it just disappeared off the planet. We have/had a camera outside but for what reason I don't know it wasn't on and also, it doesn't have night vision. I am postponing getting another bike until next year as its getting colder, and I am getting older, lol....
Ok, now to the vlog comments: In the early 90's I converted and lived in a 70's Bedford CF Ambulance. In Huddersfield where I live it gets a little parky in winter so a friend of mine (a New Age Traveller) built me a pot belly stove out of an old gas bottle. And I still have it now, lol.
During the vid, you mention recycling most of the components, which is admirable. I would advise you build a winter wood store and put all the scrap wood in it.
And lastly (PHEW), John; your technique for using a sledge hammer/axe is completely wrong! If you continue doing what you're doing you will do your back in big time.
I have used this technique all my life since I was pulled up as a teenager by an ancient builder who told me his words of wisdom:
If you are right handed, hold the base of the shaft of the hammer/axe firmly in your left hand. With your right hand under the head of the hammer at the start of the swing. As the hammer/axe falls on target, slip your right hand down the shaft till it meets your left hand.
Now it know it all sound very sexual and Ooh er' Mrs, as they say, but this is the most effective way of using a sledge hammer or axe. It saves the extra forces on your back and uses the weight of the tool rather than all your strength. It also increases the power of the swing at least 3 times. Practice it and once you've mastered it, you will thank me and wonder why you ever did it the wrong way, lol. Good luck and keep the vlogs coming. Best Wishes. Aidy Madd
I just found you guys last week, and binge watched! I bought an old caravan/mobile home in Canada a few years ago. Mine was fairly rough, but worth it to me to fix so I would have a home. So I built up all the structure in it and redid all electrical, insulation, and walls. My home is really nice now, and cozy warm. I look forward to the next renovation videos you put out! :)
Great video! I love seeing how you are recycling everything from the caravan. Can't wait to see what you do with everything you're saving from it!
Thanks so much :) we've really enjoyed saving and recycling bits, rather than using a skip! We an't wait to share with you what we've got coming up. Happy new year! Emilie, Jon & Maggie xxx
I would use it in my motorhome. Being a solo, 70 year old traveller, security is paramount to me.
Absolutely loved this chapter. So great to see you back xx
Thanks so much Gemma 😊 xx
On my narrowboat where I'll use it just came across your channel just catching up really enjoying so far.
What a great piece of kit, Reolink. Be great to watch the wildlife in the garden, but useful at the front of the house as security. Love watching your journey xx
! Sorry you didn't win but can't wait to share with you what we've got coming up. Happy new year! Emilie, Jon & Maggie xxx
I would give this to my grandma. She lives alone and it would be nice to know she’s got a little extra protection
Loving your channel. You are working so hard, day jobs and renovations. Looking forward to seeing your progress.
I would use the camera, first, in the house to keep an eye on my loving pup Harley. She is sick and it would allow me to keep an eye on her when I’m at work and she is home alone. Then I would use it outside of my house toward the driveway because there has been some vehicles broken into in my neighborhood. I love watching all the renovations you are doing.
I love watching all the changes that you're sharing, that are happening on the land. Besides bird, squirrel and chipmunk watching with the camera, it defenetly would help in the evening with security around my home. Keep up the great progress!
Thanks so much Dawn! We were hoping we'd see wildlife on our cameras but no signs just yet 😊
I really appreciate how you try to recycle where and when you can! Keep up the good work guys! I'd use the camera to look out over our garden, both for security and to watch the odd fox we get!!
Thanks so much Rose, we are really enjoying recycling what we can. Love that you get fox's where you live! We are hoping we will see them on our land one day. We are spending new years eve catching up on our comments (we've got just over 2,000 to work through haha!) Sorry you didn't win but can't wait to share with you what we've got coming up. Happy new year! Emilie, Jon & Maggie xxx
I am just loving this series so much!!
We have a caravan that we are renovating on the land surrounding our house. The entrance to our land and house could do with a camera!! That way I could see who was arriving and departing without having to run back and forth to the front gated driveway!
I have been watching all of yals video's & have really enjoyed them also can't hardly wait to see yals new tiny home .May the good Lord bless u both & ur doggie .I love all animals .
Watched all you videos so far. Look forward to seeing more!
This is so interesting to watch .. I can’t wait to see what you’re doing next xx
What an awesome prize to give away and an unfortunate piece of security required at these times. Love your continuing story and wish you all the best in your journey.
Just watched all of your videos john has lost about a stone from episode 1 till now well done mate all that work double bonus 👍
Love this - you guys are smashing it. We’ve just moved into a mobile home/cabin in my parents garden to help support my mum who has dementia - I would use the camera on their drive so I could check they were safe 👍🏻
Love your channel...the updates can’t come quick enough! Lol. That Reolink seems to be amazing...I would put it in the back yard in the blind spot that can’t be seen from any windows, which would also cover a blind spot for my next door neighbor...providing piece of mind for multiple households. Thank you for all the recycling you do...so glad to see how conscious you are of the environment! ❤️
Your “Staying Power” is Fantastic! More Power to you both!
Love the channel guys. Your so brave to tackle this project. I have a classic car on the drive and have no gates. I know one of these cameras would be ideal and give so much peace of mind. Keep the good work up. Look forward to seeing more of what your up too.
Well done guys. Hope you're in some warm accommodation before winter sets in!
Thanks so much Kevin! We are still in the caravan but hoping we can have the cabin built by Christmas!
This is my new favourite build channel, I really like the way you are going about things. Something very satisfying about clearing away old stuff to make way for the new through hard work rather than relying on contractors. Good luck with it all!
For the camera, I'd use it for my outside cabin/music room which is a bit vulnerable atm.
Oh thanks so much for the kind words! I have to say, we are loving every second and learning so much by doing it ourselves. Oh the cabin/music room sounds amazing, Jon would LOVE to have a music room one day! Thanks for watching and entering! Our contest ends at the end of the 30th of October and we will contact you directly and announce in the video if you have won ☺️ Emilie & Jon xx
So excited for you guys! I have been planning myself to build homestead in country for months and your journey is not only helpful but inspiring. this camera system would be amazing at gateway and all around property for piece of mind when you are surrounded by land.
oh thank you so much for the support Selia! Sorry you didn't win but can't wait to share with you what we've got coming up. Happy new year! Emilie, Jon & Maggie xxx
I love watching you both. So enthusiastic about being able to build your home. I will keep watching 😊
Thanks so much Christine 😊
Like you we live in the sticks. We are both pensioners and sometimes have boy and girl racers coming down the road at mach 5. They sometimes don't get around the bend and crash through our gates or walls. It would be nice to have a witness for these times. Keep up the great work and videos.
I'd use the camera in the garden to keep an eye on what the foxes and hedgehogs get up to!
It would give me great peace of mind to have a camera on my property to monitor the horses I look after, and protect all the equipment and tack! Some of it is irreplaceable medieval saddles etc!
Sorry you didn't win but can't wait to share with you what we've got coming up. Happy new year! Emilie, Jon & Maggie xxx
The property is going to be amazing when done , I wish you both good luck , and really enjoy the videos
Thanks so much Richard 😊 xxx
Been enjoying binge watching. You are both such hard workers🙌🙂👍
Doing amazingly well 👏 inspiring to watch and love how well you work together ❤️
I would love a camera at the back of our house to keep an eye on our elderly neighbours.
Good luck everyone! 👍
Thank you for explaining what your doing ,and why. Your doing a great job. Love from Canada.❤
We too would use it out on a barn that’s slightly away from our house. They look amazing. Really enjoying the simple and quick episodes you’re doing. Good content.
Thanks so much for the support Sarah and for entering. We are spending new years eve catching up on our comments (we've got just over 2,000 to work through haha!) Sorry you didn't win but can't wait to share with you what we've got coming up. Happy new year! Emilie, Jon & Maggie xxx
You are doing an awesome job! Thank you for taking us along on your journey.
I would use the security system to help protect my family.
Oh I'd love one of these cameras for my dog when we're out, he gets very anxious on his own and being able to talk to him and calm him down would be amazing.
Thanks for entering. We hope your dogs anxiety eases. We are spending new years eve catching up on our comments (we've got just over 2,000 to work through haha!) Sorry you didn't win but can't wait to share with you what we've got coming up. Happy new year! Emilie, Jon & Maggie xxx
That reolink looks like a super piece of kit! I'd put one on the corner of my house as there it will cover my heating oil tank, my garden gate and my neighbours garden gate who is a dog sitter so always very security aware & conscious so this would give us both peace of mind.
Well done on the brush cutter find!
That caravan would have been a perfect workshop and storage shed while you build your tiny house.
Thanks Wade 😊 Luckily we have our storage set but mainly we need to clear the caravans to make space for our tiny home, as these are sat on our mains sewers/drainage 😊
Incredible effort to get that demolished, fair play both. That's epic.
Thanks so much 😊😊
I'd love a camera for the back garden, we could use it to monitor back gate as we've had people come into garden before, we could monitor kids playing, and night vision would be great for keeping an eye out for the family of hedgehogs that visit us after dark
Ah I love your updates. It's so great to see people who take the longer route of dismantling to recycle the individual components rather than chuck everything in a skip - great work both of you. Can't wait to see your tiny home take shape. I'd love the security camera - I'm currently without fencing for my back garden (wood is expensive, eh?) and I'm feeling a bit exposed. I'm planting a fruiting hedge as a replacement which will take a couple of years to grow - a security camera might become a necessity. Keep up the good work!
Thanks so much. We really want to do as much as the manual work ourselves as we can, so have really enjoyed breaking them down and knowing exactly where it's all going too! Sorry you didn't win but can't wait to share with you what we've got coming up. Happy new year! Emilie, Jon & Maggie xxx
Hi you two, great to see you back. More please. Gutted your brush cutter broke, hope you manage to get the broken part replaced, your working so hard you deserve a bit of luck. What a fabulous camera. If I had one I would use it in my back garden so I can watch the wild life, we get a few different animals there. Keep up the good work, Tony xx
Thanks Tony, We are spending new years eve catching up on our comments (we've got just over 2,000 to work through haha!) very excited to share with you what we've been up too! We've got 5 months off weddings now to just focus on camp out west, so we cannot wait to get stuck in and take you along with us! Happy new year! Emilie, Jon & Maggie xxx
Oh wow, I just found your channel and binge watched everything in one day! I’m loving your channel and can’t wait to see more.
Thanks so much Dawn 😊
Great progress, amazing to see the difference all the hard work is making what seems so quickly - but I'm sure its not! We have 4 labs who also love exploring and although not as extensive as your grounds still would love to keep an eye on them! Good luck with the continuing works - I know of UE in Corby from a friend and they have a good reputation so I'm sure that will be a great base for you!
Hope you and your labs had a lovely Christmas Chris! We have 5 months off from tomorrow, so we can focus on camp out west and filming full time before weddings start again! Sorry you didn't win but can't wait to share with you what we've got coming up. Happy new year! Emilie, Jon & Maggie xxx
Sorry to hear about your space invaders. They get everywhere! If we were to win the security system we'd do the same and use it to monitor our back garden and side alley which has been used to break in to our home. Keep up with the filming, we love seeing your progress and ideas.
Hi John and Emily, I have been following your mammoth journey from the start and I can't praise you enough for what you have both committed to, and It will be great to see your hard graft result in your end goal over the next few months into 2023. An epic journey to share with us all.
The Reolink would make a great addition to securing my motorhome and keeping a watchful eye on my 2 Jack Russells when on our travels.
Stay safe, take care and Good Luck ! Bazza
Thanks so much Barry! Thanks for watching and for the support, we are so grateful! We hope you and your 2 jack russels had a lovely Christmas! We have 5 months off from tomorrow, so we can focus on camp out west and filming full time before weddings start again! Sorry you didn't win but can't wait to share with you what we've got coming up. Happy new year! Emilie, Jon & Maggie xxx
Lovely to see Maggie enjoying all that space x
I would use the camera to watch the 8 squirrels that have made our back garden their home , my husband and son would probably bags it as security for a garage full of boy toys !
Is that a pointer we spy in your icon photo? Those little paws! Maggie is loving her new garden to run around it! She's so excited to go out each morning now and goes straight into hunting mode! Thanks for watching and entering! Our contest ends at the end of the 30th of October and we will contact you directly and announce in the video if you have won ☺️ Emilie & Jon xx
Yes it is Jac our rescue Pointer that we sadly said goodbye to in September age 14 x
I was waiting for an update! Looks like you've been busy! I'm sure you'll be able to get a standard bearing for the mower here in the UK.
If I won the Riolink I'd definitely put it outside my home office in the garden as I've got a lot of kit in there!
Hoping the mower will be and easy fix so we can get back to the clearing, we've made a dent, still plenty to get done. Thanks for following the journey.Jon
It is so satisfying clearing land like that. Hard work but great sense of achievment.
Thanks so much Nobby!
Making great progress guys! Hope you managed to get that bush cutter part you needed so you can continue to clear the land. How lovely to see your dog stretching their legs on the newly cleared space.
Would love the Reolink camera, if we won I'd use it at the rear of our property - we're going away next year on our own extended adventure and it would give us great peace of mind to be able to check in our property remotely whilst we're away.
Brilliant video, so refreshing to see a young couple doing this instead of going down the normal routes. I'd use the camera to monitor our land as we keep getting trespassers and fly tippers. Keep these videos coming!
Thanks so much Tommy :) we really can't believe this is our life! Sorry to hear about the fly tippers! We always see it on the country lanes by us and it makes us so angry! Thanks for watching and entering! Our contest ends at the end of the 30th of October and we will contact you directly and announce in the video if you have won ☺️ Emilie & Jon xx
Really love your videos we are looking at buying a place that has 1.7 acres so it's amazing to see how big your 3 acres is. I would love the reolink camera for the same reason as you to keep an eye on people coming onto the land xx
Great too see your enthusiasm and hard work. I would put a Reolink camera to watch my workshop.
Keep up the great work and good luck.
Really interesting watching the progress of this project, thank you.
Thanks so much Liz 😊
This would be real handy we have our family wee caravan at the side of our home, this would be great to have a bit of security as we both work away from home during the day. Thanks for the videos & loving all your progress cant wait to see when its all finished & yous are enjoying your achievements.
So happy to see how wel orgenised you are working and recycling, love to see the progress and hope to see soon the next video, greetings from Belgium
Thanks so much Lutgarde. We are loving trying to recycle what ever we can! Also we feel so lucky we have such aa great recylcing centre so close to us :)
Keep up the great work you guys are doing. Stay positive, you are doing well.
It was a nice surprise to see this giveaway pop up. We love to follow you on your adventures! Please keep sharing these great video's! We could really use the Reolink security camera as our neighborhood has been declining these last couple of years and this would make us feel a lot safer.
Love watching y’all do this! I would love to do this one day with my husband! I would use the camera on my property to stop trespassing and stealing.
Really sorry to hear you've had to deal with trespassers - we also had a bit of a problem with the same thing when we renovated our house - it was mostly scrap merchants taking things that (luckily) we weren't bothered about but it felt like a violation for sure. I hope the cameras improve things for you - time to get that big gate fitted too lol!
Hey guys, awesome work. Just started watching and have finished the 4 videos you have of the cleaning / clearing the land and its looking great!
If i won the camera it would definitely either go in my shed to record some work i do in there or out the backyard to watch the dog during the day :)
We have land the same in wales with 2 derelict cottages on and static caravans we live to far away and it’s hard to upkeep/repair with the odd weekend so unfortunately we’re gonna have to sell after owning since 2008, so glad I found your channel as it reminds me so much of our place, our happy place 😊
Nice video, well done.
Worth thinking about keeping one of the vans empty for the winter so you have an indoor work space for cutting wood etc for your winter projects
Thanks so much Sarah :) sadly they need to go, so we can have access to our main drains etc, otherwise we would have kept them for a big longer
Great to see that your making use of unused land and with hard work the land coming back to shape be interesting to see your tiny home come to life. The camera would be fanastic as l live on a narrow boat all the best look forward to seeing your future vlogs
Thanks so much Ben! Hope you've been keeping warm in your narrow boat and you had a lovely christmas :) We have 5 months off from tomorrow, so we can focus on camp out west and filming full time before weddings start again! Thanks for entering and sorry you didn't win but can't wait to share with you what we've got coming up. Happy new year! Emilie, Jon & Maggie xxx
I love watching you guys.
I like that you are recycling all that you can. Glad you got cameras to try an keep you safe.
I would put the camera in my house so I can e able to watch my dog while I am at work. She is getting on in years and it worries me that she is home alone. Good luck with everything your doing love from Canada ❤
Thank you so much Jennifer! That makes us so happy. We hope you and your dog had a a lovely Christmas! e have 5 months off from tomorrow, so we can focus on camp out west and filming full time before weddings start again! Sorry you didn't win but can't wait to share with you what we've got coming up. Happy new year! Emilie, Jon & Maggie xxx
I would use the camera to keep an eye on the car as we had our last one stolen, loving the vlogs! Very entertaining.
Loving the show guys. Would be nice to visit when your up and running.
I would use the Reolink to watch my land too, love the solar aspect of it
