Very interesting. Like you said, hard to keep any food items in a vehicle. Perfect to keep a couple in a pack with some trail mix & maybe some jerky or some kind of additional snacks, you would definitely be happy to have if you really need it.
I'm guessing they're too young to remember this sort of packaged foods was what American astronauts ate in the 1960's and 1970's on manned space missions.
