Thank you so much for sharing that they were all common folk, like you and me, not bulti-millionaires. Their acting was so genuine.
Frank Sinatra made any script seem real. What a great actor he was!
Had no idea hooo
Yes, The Manchurian Candidate he was too.
@@knighttuttrupriprock9733 jjajajaaa que bueno
I first saw this movie on TCM years ago. I loved it then and just as much now. Thanks for showing movies from the past.
That's Sinatra, That's our man... Always in the best movies.. Thank God
Thanks sir, Wish you all the best❤❤❤
Ive seen this movie many times and always enjoyed it but seeing it in colorized version is even better. the town looks totally different, the rooms look totally different its great this way!
You have just answered my query, thank you. 😊
Each to his own. I find the false colors, weird tints a distraction. Black and white has its own richness, depth and avoids the phoniness of early colorization.
Otherwise, I find this movie better than a "B"--nice pacing and plenty of menace from Sinatra. I'm not sure if Sterling Hayden is convincing as the "marrying kind" but does well as the hero.
Also, I am not old enough to remember but think I miss the age of passenger travel by rail, especially in which even smaller towns had a train station and seeing who was coming and going every time the train stopped was the day's excitement. Not to mention the double-feature Saturday afternoon.
At 76, I well remember this movie because at age 8, in 1954, it was
the very first film that I saw, without an accompanying adult! I believe
that it was a "B" movie (2nd film), but outstanding in its acting, espec-
ially that of Frank Sinatra, playing a "crazed assassin"! Top notch!
So you were the same age as the boy in the film, it obviously meant a lot to you. I enjoyed this it has really good characters, and strong storyline.
I love movies from the 40s, 50s and 60s, so grateful for you putting these films on line for all to watch, thank you.
What a wonderful feelings to watch a movie from the golden good ole days.....🥰
*The boy who played "Pidge" (Kim Charney) continued in movies and television for another ten years, then went back to school and became a doctor. Although he's now 77 years old, he still works as a surgeon in Southern California. Sterling Hayden DID win a Silver Star in WW2, serving as a Marine Corps officer. He died at the age of 70 in 1986. Finally, Nancy Gates (Pidge's mother) died a short time ago, in 2019. She was 93.* 😇
Tom, Thank you for the summary. Salute, BBoucharde
Thanks for the info 🙂
*_Thanks for the information. Greetings from the tycoon Peru😎👍_*
How did he get any star during WW2 when in 1954 he was a kid in this movie? The war ended in 1945! Do you mean the Vietnam War? I don’t even think he was old enough for the Korean War!
@@noneyun9943 None, Read Tom's comment more carefully, please. Sterling Hayden plays the role of the police officer, and he was born in 1916. And yes, he was a decorated Marine officer in WW2.
Excellent movie you could say it was a simulation of a hypothetical case, great cast, Frank Sinatra really young, the boy did his role very well
Thank you for uploading and sharing.
Nice to see Frank playing the villain.
The colourisation looks so natural and authentic, if someone hadn't told me it used to B&W, I'd never have guessed. It's a miracle.
Funny guy
That better be sarcasm.
No, it's fake as heck. It's an atack on art. Weird colors.
I agree
Sorry, attack. Colourisation is awful. Almost always.
What a treat to see this great movie in color! I’ve watched this movie through the years but always in black & white. I remember how frightening it was to watch when I was a kid.
Very good acting and great story. Frank Sinatra was a great actor in addition to his other talents. The supporting cast was excellent.
I read where they built a fake house on the hill since it was nothing but grass. A lot of the same train station remains.
It’s nice watching a movie with acting and a good story. In this era of CGI with nothing but ridiculous special effects, gratuitous violence & sex it’s extremely rare to find a movie as good as Suddenly. Can’t anyone write anymore? Or are audiences so conditioned to only respond to lots of stimuli like amoebas?
Yes, you are absolutely right..
I totally agree,I am 53 now and I have been on a mission to watch as many old movies as I can , I have seen some wonderful well acted and well written movies and some as early as from 1939 ,my love of old movies started with Jimmy Stewart and has progressed to something much bigger and with all the great movies that are still out there ,I still have many years of enjoyment to come . I highly recommend Mr Stewart and not just it's a wonderful life lol , peace and joy!
A disgrace to color a black-and-white movie! Anti-art!!!!
@@larrys7122 I would have said the same things. Its like you expressed myself so nicely. I would not have been able to do that. Thank You.
So basically, you are complaining about today, and also, they have great special effects, and if you don't like it, then don't say anything about it
I hadn't seen this piece of art before. Frank Sinatra's a legendary figure in Music American History. Thanks for sharing it, I appreciate it so much.
Frank é tão mau ator que precisou usar a mafia a seu favor para poder atuar
God bless you have Frank Sinatra what a musician God bless him he would be happy to see this movie in color and if he was alive today thanks for the shorts and the movie God bless it's great to see movies swearing in it God blessing God bless all the people watching this I was born in 1974 and only movie I remember what Frank Sinatra in it was about him as a drug addict from methadone Wisconsin a man with a learning disability
Hello to the Triple-C gang. This is an all-time favorite classic. What an amazing cast. You can't beat Sinatra, Hayden, and Gleason. Sterling Hayden is always superb. I hope I can be here to see it. Shout out to the amazing Helen Poornima, Neem Tree, Nicole Tanis, Clare, Six Toes, Big Mike Silva, et al.✔👍
Good to see you're doin' better BBJ. Should be a good show this weekend. Until then, stay well. Your friends will be waiting for you. 🙏 ☮

This movie was beautifully colorized. I love it!
seems poorly colorized to me, at least at the beginning when hands and arms and even faces are turning grey and their clothes change colors.
Thank you for the great movie.
Love Frank Sinatra.
Good cast.
❤
Thanks for sharing this great movie it's full of suspense 👍!

Can you imagine: the mother bought a huge box of groceries for $3- cash!
I sure can imagine it I used to buy candy bars for a nickel, bag potato chips also$0.05 we used to get in the movies for thirty-five cents i was born September 15th 1953 my birthday is next Friday I will be 70 years and I remember those days when food was not expensive as it is now. 😢
frank was fantastic. all the cast was great. color is nice.
The first movie I watched that had Sterling Hayden in it was Zero Hour, about 2 years ago, and I was so impressed that I’ve watched every movie with him in it that I’ve come across. He’s just so good!
Took me about 15 minutes to place him as the corrupt police captain in the Godfather. Benny was the actor who voiced the Ghost host in Disneyland's Haunted Mansion
Definitely watch The Asphalt Jungle if you have not seen it already. That film is a masterpiece and Sterling Hayden is very good in it.
Saw this movie in '54 & loved it! Sterling Hayden was one of the post WWII actors,
e.g.. Lee Marvin, Jack Palance, Charles Bronson, Robert Ryan, that were not just
playing 'tough guys', they really were "Tough Guys"!
I think his finest performance was as General Jack Ripper in "Dr Strangelove"...Brilliant.
He was good in "Johnny Guitar" with Joan Crawford.
This shows that when Frank put his mind to it, he could act very well.
Se esforzó, pero solo le dieron el papel por su fama.Correspondía un actor más rudo.
Excelente filme!❤
GREAT MOVIE.... ON THE EDGE....THANK YOU X
I learn synonymous, hearing the dialog and watching the captions.
One of the best movies we've made. And Sinatra was great in it.
"We've "?
This was an awesome movie to watch. Frank Sinatra playing a bad guy was awesome and amazing 👏 to watch this brilliant movie in techic- color is very nice. Now you get it in HD today. Classic movies will never get old, but better with time. Thank you for sharing this wonderful movie. ❤️
Tengo 23 años y me encanta ver películas de esas épocas ❤❤

thank you for the info.
Great movie. Frank's acting is very good.
Suddenly is in the public domain for decades now Unbelievable
Thanks for the movie, super!
Frank could give a pretty crazy, menacing face! It would creep me out if someone sneered at me like that! Great movie 👍
Did he smack his kids around like Pidge? Asking for a friend.
My lady says Sinatara was a much bettrr actor than he was a crooner.
@@frankfarago2825 The summer wind came blowing in.....
Great singer...good actor...lousy human being!..I guess two out of three ain't bad.
One of the better colorized movies I've seen. Not bad. And a great movie, too. Thanks!

Great movie
Normally I prefer black and white, but I must admit that I’ve never seen this movie looking so good in 1080p and in color. Wow. It’s a good movie too.
It's not black&white, it's Color
@@azimisyauqieabdulwahab9401 The first time I saw this movie years ago, it was in the original black and white. I mean that I prefer watching the movie in color. Most of the time I would rather watch a movie as it was intended in black and white, instead of converted to color years later as this movie was.
@@iakona23This color conversion is terrible! It strobes pink and purple! Back to black…….and white! 👍
@@royrice6656 oh dear, I’ll take another look. Thank you for the reply.
@@azimisyauqieabdulwahab9401
The original is black and white. I noticed the coloring of the film is subpar probably because of the degradation of the black and white film. Even though it was obviously colorized it was still a treat to see it in color.
Sinatra was an excellent actor.
Muy buena película! Gracias por compartir!
This is an excellent film without the color.Frank Sinatra truly shines here.
Awesome movie 👍😎
The movie owes part of its notoriety to the fact that Lee Harvey Oswald watched it on television with his wife Marina on October 12, 1963 (six weeks before Kennedy's assassination), when it was being broadcast with another film, John Huston's The Insurgents, according to Marina Oswald's testimony to the Warren Commission on February 5, 1964.
The Dallas Morning News of October 12 does mention in its programs the Huston film broadcast on Channel 11, but not the Allen film. However, according to Bugliosi, a last-minute deprogramming may have allowed it to be broadcast, since Marina Oswald gave a precise description of it to the Commission. A Secret Service search shows that the film was broadcast on Dallas TV on February 26, 1963.
Buena película. Muchas gracias.
Good movie!

Sinatra could imitate his mob pals to get the bad boy image right.

Qué peliculón. Es para ponerte en el sillón con algo de picar un refresco, y a disfrutar de un rato, que solo el gran cine lo consigue. Espero que opinéis como yo. Enhorabuena, CCC ,
Great little movie. reminds me a little of Violent Saturday
It's good 2 see this in color
excelente película
This was good in B&W. I'll watch it again here.
I’d say the modern and artificial colorization process has finally reached the kind of color the Hwood industry had at the time for their biggest productions. Historically, though, let’s never lose sight THESE VERY B-MOVIES, THIS VERY GENRE was essentially linked to B&W in the collective memory. So, who would ever consider watching such classics as ‘The Maltese Falcon’, or ‘Sunset Boulevard’, or even ‘The Third Man’… in color ?!? Perfectly OK for the mainstream YT audience but obviously out of question for any serious Film studies scholar and any true film-buff. That would just be sheer heresy…
Sterling Hayden 🤩🤩
Love it in color.
👍👍👍👍👍. Schade das die das nicht mehr können heute. Qualität
This movie is speaking deeply.
It is cinematic greatness.
