I always thought he was tailor made to play James Bond.
His performance as a villain in Mission Impossible shows he has that edge.
performance as a villian??? he played an actual spy in the man from uncle
Yes I think better than daneil Craig
Yes, and that’s the problem. Playing it safe is really difficult, it’s very close to playing it boring. When you make Bond films, you’re basically doomed to make the same film over and over again, and I think they’ve mostly been doing a fine job - and that’s really really hard when you don’t give yourself some room to maneuver. I think we’re in for a slight reboot.
Aaron “Taylor” Johnson made
@@mm9773that’s why they can always make it period accurate to the books because bond was a WAYYYY MORE interesting character in the novels than he was in the movies and yes more interesting than weepy Craig in NTTD or they can make a tv show about his origins and I mean his REAL origins from the books where he was born in 1920 and was a WW2 veteran. There’s no law that says that they make only movies there’s a whole wide universe of opportunities for new ideas that don’t necessarily have to be up with times. In fact trying to keep up with the times will make you even more dated and try hard.
WB absolutely did this man dirty and dropped the ball HUGELY not continuing his Superman story. Absolute bellends
I agree it still frustrates me how much they underused him as Supes.
100% He was totally underused. He even has Christopher Reeve's humility and sincerity, which is a nice touch for us older generation. Those qualities rare in Hollywood. However, they could definitely done with a better director in Henry's Superman films - to really bring out the best. It just got really silly.
@@adamthorntonillustration9281 James Gunn literally says he doesn't have it. I don't know what to belive anymore.
@comebackguy8892 I wouldn't get too hung up on James Gunns takes.
The guy seems to be all talk and not much substance since sitting on the big throne of DC films.
Trust me, if his version of Superman flops......he deserves every bit of criticism that gets thrown his way.
@@Skowl3883 As much as I love him as a director, I completely agree.
This guy deserves to be bond... Perfect for the role
Especially coming in second after Craig the first time he auditioned.
He's a plank of wood. 😮
I don’t know why they’re dragging their feet. Cavill gets my vote as the next 007. He is perfect. British, tall, handsome, good build, great voice. Bond director Martin Campbell said he nailed his screen test years ago - my understanding is he was just too young at the time. Cavill has experience playing in big movies and he obviously would love the role. Sometimes actors are just perfect for a part - and he IS James Bond. Get on with it.
Because the producers want to cater to that 'modern audience': The very people who don't care for the product, franchise etc. Plus, Cavill is someone who cares for his craft and fans. Hollywood hate that.
He was basically James Bond when he was in Man from U.N.C.L.E. Perfect casting for Bond. If the Bond franchise goes modern audience, or China audience, or woke, it’s the end of an era. Beautiful Women, Martinis, fast cars, guns, gambling etc. are politically incorrect at present and exactly what we need at present……
If they decide to make a Bond movie with Henry Cavill I will be the first to see it.
@@jasonborne5724 I agree that Henry should be the new Bond. But are you seriously worried the franchise might do away with guns and fast cars? That ain't gonna happen. And since when have action films done away with hot actresses? Are you tossing and turning at night worrying that Lizzo might be the next Bond girl? That ain't gonna happen either. You might be watching too much Joe Rogan and Bill Maher.
They want a black bald woman to be 007.
What I like most about him is--always have been, his manners. Calm, composed, warm, POLITE, sharp. So culturally polite it's deeply inspiring.
Yes. Immediate yes. I want. Will watch anything with Cavill in it
You watched all of Argylle?
@@daveclark8337 I loved Argylle! Aside from the skating scene I thought it was funny and have seen it several times already. Twice in theaters with friends and bought the digital. Definitely not as good as Man From Uncle but ok.
@@daveclark8337 I got through a good half of it myself lol. It was tough. Not enough Cavill to carry that one
Loved The Count of Monte Cristo. One of my favourite films!
Came here to ask the same question haha, also loved Argylle!
Henry Cavill will have me right back as a 007 fan. He can't be too old, Roger Moore was not 37 years old when he played Bond. Henry is a brilliant actor and has the physique and good looks, what more can you ask for...
Roger Moore was never "that" active in the role. Daniel Craig set the bar pretty high for the physicality of what Bond should be now..
Moore was disgustingly old by the end!
@@floridaman2214 Daniel Craig was OLDER than Cavill is now in 4 of his 5 Bond films. If Cavill spends the next 10 years making a Bond trilogy, he will still end it YOUNGER than Craig was in his last Bond film.
@floridaman2214 Daniel Craig was 38 in Casino Royale. Only a few years younger than Henry.
Hope Henry gets bond, wish he was still Superman.
he is superman ....
Wish he was Superman in less divisive films. Feel like he never had the chance with the people involved. Can’t wait to see what he does with Highlander.
I think Johnson has it 😢
MAKE THIS MAN BOND!!!
For me He is still Superman.
He can be James Bond too
let's be Honest, Cavill can play any part.
Fun fact: He already was the runner-up when they chose Daniel Craig as Bond. They cited his youth (Cavill was only 22 years old at that time) as the main reason for choosing Craig instead of him. The other reason was that they just had a gentleman Bond with Pierce Brosnan before and wanted someone that was a little rough around the edges to keep things fresh.
He absolutely should be the next Bond. He's got the looks and charm of Roger and the toughness of Sean. Oh, AND he's a damn good actor too.
Please make Henry Bond. He was actually the runner up for Daniel Craig when he was cast. If we can’t have him as Superman at least let us have him as 007!
Cavill as Bond makes too much sense for Hollywood
Perfect person for 007 Bond. Bad mistake if he was not chosen.
i can tell u didnt read the books
It's a myth, fiction, and very destructive, to say that Henry Cavill is too old to play James Bond. At 40 to 43 if he were to play three James Bond movies with a 3 to 5 year spread, he would be equal to or younger than Rodger Moore in his last James Bond movie. Henry Cavill is leaps and bounds ahead of any other contender.
More to the point, Craig was older than Cavill is now in all but his first Bond film. Cavill won't be as old as Craig was in No Time to Die for another 12 years.
I think if Henry Cavill played Bond, the movies need to show more of the character aging at some points as he does more sequels. Like his final film can be when he knows he still got the intellect but his actual body would slow him down and keeps up with the times.
I'd love for Henry to get the role for 007. Love that he's a chiefs fan. love that he's a nerd. love his passion for his roles and his respect for the source material. love his work as an actor.
He's the kind of nerd women have in mind when they say they find nerdy guys attractive. 🤣
Henry was so good playing "The Witcher"!!
I loved him as August Walker in Mission Impossible. Based on that, I think he would be brilliant playing a guy in a suit who does a lot of action, both with guns and without.
He will always be SUPERMAN❤️
Henry Cavill was already seriously considered for James Bond when they were casting for Casino Royale
Yeah, apparently he was the runner up
He's just one of these fame-hungry nerds who'll take any big franchise role he's offered. You don't get to be Superman and Bond. Too late.
@@spenser9908Who are you to make the rules?
@@pelicanchampion8629 I'm a Bond fan. I know what works.
@@spenser9908 wtf is your problem
He would be a great Bond. Even if he is too "old" just make it a trilogy.
He's not. He already looks younger than Connery.
I commented the same thing elsewhere… make a properly planned out, well written Bond Trilogy for Cavil!
@@crash7098 Yes, and directed by Chris Nolan. You're looking at $5 billion in box office at least for the three films.
Henry Cavill the goat 🐐
Yes Please Henry is The Next 007 ❤🎉
never thought of him as bond until now but YES great idea
He would be perfect as Bond!
Cavill was born to be Bond and it baffles me how they have not chosen him for it. Maybe they want younger but from where I'm standing you could make some very good 3 or 4 movies with Henry Cavill every 2 years. He would be about 48 by his 4th, which is younger than Daniel Craig to finish being 007.
He was a finalist when they cast Craig citing that Cavill was too young at the time so the producers clearly thought he was 007 material years ago. But, he's now too old to play Bond in anything but a single film and the producers have made it clear they want an actor who can do multiple pictures over the next decade plus...
Too bland.
Dude Henry is 41 perfect age for Bond. Craig played Bond into his 50s.
@@Chad_MaxThat's BS. People age slower these days and Roger Moore was ancient when retired from the role.
I don't know why Henry Cavill would want to dedicate the prime years of his career just doing Bond films. And Bond films aren't small films that you can churn out every two years. Look at the gap between Craig's Bond films. They take at least 3 years in between films. And normally, someone like Cavill would like to do something in between.
I'll be happy to see at least one Cavil Bond movie he deserves it
If they're smart enough to cast Henry as the next James Bond, the next movie should be titled 'License to Print Money', because that's exactly what it would be.
😂😂😂😊😊😊❤❤😂🎉🎉🎉
Cavill is Bond. Period. ✌🏻
Crew laughing in the background made my day :D
He is THE James Bond candidate right now. Please cast him
Crazy that a year or two ago there'd be no way. It would have to have been someone like Charlize Theron or something.
@@TheBruceKeller I'll take her as Henry's Bond girl.
Congratulations Henry. ❤❤❤I love you actor so much. I can't wait to see. ❤❤❤
Would love to see him as bond even if it’s just two movies
Yes, We want to see Mr. Cavill as the next Bond, please :)
He already played a spy in men from UNCLE. great movie.
this has got to be one of the most random crossovers ever
It’s why Eisen is in LA to have the best crossovers
@@captainspartan04 yep, never thought I'd see a british actor on his show tbh
He's also part of the interview press tour/celebrity circuit. When Conan moved to TBS, he got dropped from that circuit and lost some of the major appear everywhere actors.
He was voted unluckiest actor 2 years in row he was in the running for Superman Returns and ended at the last minute going to Brandon routh and then same thing with 007 when Daniel Craig got it but Daniel really was at the time the right guy for the job. So now that he made the greatest Superman since Christopher Reeves so I'm hoping he can do the same thing with the new 007 I've enjoyed him since the Count of Monte Cristo
Cavill would've been 21 years old when Superman Returns was cast. He was too young to play Superman and too old for Bryan Singer....
@@daveclark8337 hahaha yeah way to young for Bryan singer lol
@@daveclark8337 That's not really too young for Superman. Henry made a good Superman because it's hard to place his age, just like Chris Reeve. That gives them their sort of alien, godlike, Christ-like, otherworldly quality. They don't look like young people or mature adults, but something in between.
@@jedijones Well it's also about trusting what should've been a Billion $ franchise to a young unknown actor. We all saw what happened when Zach Snyder chose Ezra Miller.
No one better suited to be Bond.
He definitely fits the suit.
Absolutely love this guy. He's down to earth, a huge nerd and proud of it, and a really good actor. Imagine being sble to play Superman and possibly James Bond?!
and he also played Sherlock Holmes!
@@brentcooper4345 I knew I was forgetting a role!
I like Henry, but the idea that such an obvious jock has convinced people he's a nerd is too funny.
He would be a really grate 007. Maybe the best sense Roger More.
Great. Since.
Yes 007 all the way with Henry Cavill
Cavill had me at Bond, James Bond.
I always thought Ian Fleming based Bond on Sidney Riley.
Definitely will see this film
Love the glint in Henry's eyes when he's asked about Bond. Let's hope that he's hiding something.
“Seems like a good first step” killed me.
Can't wait for seeing you in Squadron 42 as well soon(tm). 😉

How could he NOT be Bond, for cryin out loud!!
They should probably cast Henry Cavill as James Bond ASAP! He was actually born to play the role. Too bad he lost the role to Daniel Craig, just because he was deemed too young at the time (he was actually 22). Craig was magnificently amazing though. Hope Cavill finally get a chance to shine as Bond. Shaken, not stirred.
They CAN, however, cast Aaron Taylor-Johnson as his brother & sidekick though.
Idris Elba and David Dastmalchian as the Villains
Margot Robbie as Female Bond/ Love Interest
Lashana Lynch as Nomi (Reprising her role from No Time To Time)
Naomie Harris as MoneyPenny
Ben Whishaw as Q
with Ralph Fiennes as M
Cillian Murphy
and Rachel Zegler as Bond’s brother’s love interest
Ed Sheeran & Taylor Swift both should write an original theme music with Jack Antonoff, and probably have Rachel Zegler sing it if she’s interested.
Or maybe have Sia write an original theme song and probably have Zegler sing it if they’re both interested.
Hans Zimmer and Jack Antonoff compose the soundtrack
Produced By: Christopher McQuarrie p.g.a., Christopher Nolan p.g.a.
Emma Thomas p.g.a.,
Written By: Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Christopher McQuarrie & Christopher Nolan
Directed By: Christopher Nolan
I also wish that film was 3hrs long like Oppenheimer, and finally get a $2B Box Office film.
Production Company: New Line Cinema, Syncopy, Inc. Eon Productions, Legendary Pictures
Distributed By: Universal Pictures & Warner Bros. Pictures
Henry Cavill is only 40 years old. Pierce Brosnan was 42 when he started as Bond in Goldeneye. So no, Henry is nowhere near “too old” to play Bond.
Exactly that !!! Did people forget Brosnan started at 42 ??
Roger Moore was 46 when he made his first Bond movie. And since he was the longest lasting Bond actor.
He would be great as 007. Probably the best suited actor for this role right now.
MOUW was a great watch! Henry Cavill and his band of wiley operators were amazing and the film is definitely worth watching.
Jersey boy Henry 🇯🇪
Perfect Bond.
Cavill was made for the role. Literally couldn’t exude more of the attributes
Bro I'm dying to read the Superman movie that Henry and Mission Impossible director Chris Mcquarrie pitched to WB, who sadly turned them both down. Such a shame.
However, insiders say he may have been asking for way too much money and major creative control, that an A level star can demand. However Cavill isn't an A level star (probably at least B - C level) and that to some degree I can understand WB being a little hesitant to bring him back due to his demands that maybe he hadn't quiet earned, but at the same time WB was also being extremely difficult as well.
Please be Bond, please be the next Bond.
👍🏼 great sir
Please like here : We need Henry Cavill as 007 😍
Lol. Need? Maybe Brie Larson? Lol.
Roger Moore was 57 when he did "A View To A Kill." Connery was 53 when he did "Never Say Never Again." Cavill is not too old to play Bond. But seeing the direction they've been taking Bond lately during the Craig era, maybe it's time to give this franchise a rest and let it come back when the direction it takes is a better one.
Dalton was 41, Brosnan was 42, Craig 38.... so he is not too old ! it's the right age !
Henry Cavill kind of had Pierce Brosnan’s look and hair to him. The gun barrel sequence should play after the prologue and the opening title song kind of like Casino Royale but reversed. I think he should do six films and it can show his bond actually aging in each film. Bond 26 should have it go back to the original canon taking place after Die Another Day and Everything Or Nothing. And Ralph Fiennes, Rory Kinnear, and Ben Withshaw can return and can explain replacing the other actors. Keira Knightley can play as the daughter of Samantha Bond’s Moneypenny. John Boyega can play as Charles Robinson’s son. The villain should be an old retired ex-MI6 agent who fought in Vietnam and Soviet war and longs for the Cold War days so he, his sons, and others like him can feel remembered again.
He is the best Superman ever and can be the best Bond ever.
I would love to see Henry as Bond, but I thought they recently announced another actor was offered the part? Confused.
didnt they already pick Aaron Taylor-Johnson?
that's exactly what I was thinking
@@manuelsitay1949 nope. Just tabloid rumours. No actor yet. Nothing official until the Bond producers announce
@@nms7872 hmmm.... let us wait then....hope Henry will get it!
He was runner up to Daniel Craig's Bond because he was considered a little too young at 21/22, and now 20 years later he's considered a little to late to start an new era because he'll be 41/42 when they start filming.
I thought it was Aaron Taylor?
I think he’s too big for Bond. Bond is physically capable but not overwhelming. Cavill is a legit Superman and, by definition, overwhelming.
What film did they refer to?
Been a fan of James Bond since I was child. While I am not overly keen on any of the actors that have been name dropped as potentially being the next Bond, Henry Cavill would definitely be my choice if it was my choice. I don't think he lends himself so much to the Daniel Craig style of Bond but each of the respective actors have had a different take on the character and I have no doubt that Cavill could and would follow suit.
He would be the best choice for the next James Bond
There’s no better person for the role, although he does have a point about his age. Sean Connery started the role at 32, Henry is 40. Damn, he should have been Bond and Superman AT THE SAME TIME. How cool would that have been?
The Man from UNCLE was great.
He would be a great Bond, but there's too many rumors about Aaron Taylor-Johnson so I think he'll be the one...
Ugh. Why? Why pick Aaron TJ over Cavill? WTF is wrong with those producers/directors??
Aaron has a baby face. Terrible choice. Bond always looked grizzled and masculine. Not a pretty boy.
I think he'll be a great Bond
Too old, too big, too famous.
Henry would make a awesome 007
Tony Dinozzo by far my favorite pick
I get that he could be the perfect Bond. He definitely has that suave. However Barbara Broccoli said that they’re working out on where to go with the next Bond and how they’re going to approach the next film. Honestly it’s quite interesting, albeit going to be difficult, to see how the next Bond going to be. Daniel Craig was dark and cold, so to speak, and he brought a different dimension to Bond movies. I hope they can come up with an approach where Henry can show a lot of aspect, not just a regular Bond like we know.
James Bond or not, he IS THE Superman !
Christopher Reeve is Superman. That’s why none have worked since. Cavil could be a decent bond
Henry Cavill for 007!
If I was the producer of the Bond franchise, Cavill is a no brainer for Bond, I’d remake Live & Let Die and do the Moore era films with more gadgets.
Perfect Bond!
Hold my hand!!!
I'm really looking forward to Warhammer 40K and Highlander. Continued success for such a stand up dude.
Cavill is the right actor for the next 007 ob in James Bond.
The quest is over. I would have loved to see Henry do it, but it seems they went with Aaron Taylor-Johnson. Still an amazing actor, but I really would have loved to see Henry become Bond on screen.
If Cavill isn't Bond i hope he can start his own spy action franchise with "the ministry of ungentlemanly warfare" and/or play a different 00-agent in one of the Bond movies (Tom Ellis would be cool too)?! 🤔🙏
I was under the impression that Ian Flemming based Bond on Sir Christopher Lee?! So was the character that Cavill is playing suppose to be Sir Christopher Lee?!
The best news😊
Yeah the only perfect James Bond 007..worldwide popular..HenryCavill James Bond 007..film choice ❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉
Henry would be a great Bond...
I won’t even see the next bond film if they don’t choose this man
Cavill is Bond if the producers dont see it then screw them
Too old?!?! In what world he’s not 70 not even 50! He’s young enough to be a spy character. And he’s a perfect match.
He’d be perfect as Bond, But Hollywood are fools so they’ll not get him.
What will it freakin' take to convince Wilson/Broccoli and MGM to give Henry Cavill Bond? He's willing to play iconic fictional characters and do well with them. He has literally every characteristic needed to check off on Bond. British, handsome, charming, athletic, tech savvy, etc., He's even playing the guy Bond is based off of. Are they just doing this out of spite? Would their little ego's be bruised because they didn't "find" the next Bond themselves? When has there been a time where the prospective audience, almost in unison, is begging for a particular actor to play the part? Do they not want the almost guaranteed box office? Are they monsters, or are they being held back by other Hollyweird monsters behind the scenes? What...WHAT is stopping these guys from making Henry Cavill James Bond?!
We need Henry Cavill as Bond in 2025. They must have a decent script by now. Get the effing wheels in motion! We need HC as Bond in at least 3 films.
Bond was based on Ian Fleming. He's a wish fulfilment character. And 007 comes from the number bus Ian would take.
i can see him as Bond!
He IS James Bond. Just give it to him
he could easily play bond for like 3 movies still. if it was made all three in 12-15 years. He has the charm, the looks, and with a suit on he looks fucking epic.
So he played the guy Bond is based on, he played the man from UNCLE, he was previously auditioning with Daniel Craig but was too young, he made a commercial that has a lot of Bond references, he's not playing Superman anymore, he seems excited to play Bond, and you know the rest... I think it would be a crime if the Bond producers don't select him. It's 2024 and if the producers really want James Bond to return, Henry Cavill is the answer. He already is Bond, I mean come on. It's like a fine wine, he was Superman when he was younger, but now he's ripened to be Bond. I prefer an older Bond anyways, just take Roger Moore for example. If the producers don't do it, they will miss out on the opportunity of a lifetime. Henry will be just fine because he seems to be a genuine man, but the producers will have to live with that weight for the rest of their lives if they don't make this man Bond.
It would be a crime if they don’t pick him as James Bond
