Today we play “is there a limit”, and apparently the limit was 82 million shields!
They got one more doubling in. That's why they dealt ~145% of 82 million damage.

its broken till you fight the final boss and he 1 shots your Heiner with the card that does dmg to him equal to his block
So it becomes a game of who one-shots who first.
@@Nyghtkinghe does the attack round 3 or 4 I believe, its not random, if you are below 500 shields you can mostly survive it forst time, he does it again 2 rounds later. Been quite some time since I played it
Properly built I find he still fails to one-shot Heiner due to how high you can get his resistances, also it's not equal to block, it's around 40% of block if I remember right.

This game looks like a direct cut of adventure quest
when i heard the “why was the archeologist never thankful?” i fully thought the punchline was gonna be something along the lines of “because he never got the present” and was so sad that that’s not what it was
The max value for the shield is likely to be 2,147,483,647 if its stored as an integer or possible 9,007,199,254,740,992 if its stored as a double. Once hitting one of these values it might be possible to end up with a negative shield amount if the integer is signed.
Assuming that the game is made in unity, c# allows you to multiply ints by doubles (0.7 damage multiplier) so 2 billion is probably the maximum limit

I've beaten the game a few times and my favourite build is stacking bless on Reginald to one shot all enemies using high mark and many attacks (as he can consistently get 3+ free attacks per turn with his special cards (2) and a passive that makes other offensive cards in his hand cost 3 less energy). He gets a card which gives him 6 bless (so 6 extra damage per attack and healing on self) and I think 7 powerful (35% extra damage and healing to others).
This game is severely underrated, and allows you to get insanely powerful without removing the challenge from fights, especially as you unlock pets, new equipment, start learning which events to choose to get what you need to support your build, and most of all, permanent upgrades to your town that just allow you to craft whatever card you want (up to epic tier cards, the second highest tier) for a cost, and most of all perk points, which I believe max out at 50. Martin here only has 31, preventing him from speccing into the most powerful bottom perks.

I'm honestly curious if you can cause an overflow error getting the shield number so high that the variable can't store it and turns it into a much smaller maybe even negative number
You should definetley play Slay the Spire if you want to. It would be interesting to see the different strategies you use with the different characters

It is possible to make a WC3 map where you buff your hero to such a ridiculous power. It can almost one shot an entire base. Basicly, rapid fire and shooting dozens of times within a second.

For even better and faster results, take the perk on Heiner that lets Fortify stack (for bonus, it also causes Fortify to boost blunt and fire damage), then use the upgrade on Steelskin that scales the amount of block and shield with the amount of Fortify he has.

I like how you talked up the characters you were going to play and then spent the whole rest of the video playing all completely different characters but the cleric.
The only difference is they swapped in Otis (another cleric) for the rogue. Evelyn and Heiner just have skins.
the stongest i have found is andrin, thuls, malukah and bree with posion/darkness, the only downsite are bosses, who can and use cleanses (the mage boss can cleans, but never uses it). electric builds with 2 mages, or rage builds are fun too. i didnt got the brainpower thingy to get good, i just dont see much synalgy.
