    I had exactly the same with mine and when I took it apart, like you I found it reasonably clean inside. I replaced the gauze atomiser and it’s now fine. I think the gauze was not pushed fully inside the glow plug chamber and that from new.
    Nice video only wish I had seen it before!

    You won't need a new screen if your careful enough while taking the screen out now take that large screw you have and screw the screen back on it just enough so it doesn't fall off get yourself a torch and heat the screen up cherry red on all sides of the screen so that will burn off all the carbon and whatever residue is left on the screen and it is clean I do that and also use my torch to burn out whatever is left in the glow plug hole works great

    Nice set up… Usually that noise you described is the nozzle like the atomizer… You might wanna get a can or two of brake clean so you can spray out spots that you can’t get to and it dries quickly so you don’t have to worry about a residue of flammable liquid in there. It would make getting in spots that you can’t access easier
    Nice tutorial

      Yes it was the atomizer screen a little clogged. But the brake cleaner is some good advice. I will have to try that. Thanks Dave.

    Use break clean spray

  • @Baky6
    @Baky6 Před 3 měsíci

    You can clean it with acetone. Use the medical syringe, you don't even need to open the heater. It is the fastest way and very effective

    Do you filter your fuel? I could understand the soot if you don't. And you should always filter the intake air also to keep the glow plug and atomizer screen clean. That screen is the heart of the heater. The glo-plug actually shuts down once the heater is going and up to temperature. The screen glows red and lights the fuel when it is pumped into the chamber so there is no use for the glo-plug at this point. It will come back on when you shut the heater down to burn any residual fuel left in there and keeps it clean for the next startup.
    I have seen these heaters run for up to three years and stay clean, I guess it all depends on how clean your diesel fuel is or how well it's filtered.

      @NomadicVanman  Před 5 měsíci

      You should always filter the fuel. The soot is not from not filtering, but that's just what happens when you burn diesel. Good luck on your journey friend.

    You need a high pressure pump and nozzle to atomize diesel. A CDH doesn't have those. It is similar to a wick burning heater, but with a blower.

    I could see the problem as soon as you took the top part off, your gauze filter is sooted up along with the air inlet hole being blocked with crud.

    • @NomadicVanman
      @NomadicVanman  Před 8 měsíci

      That sounds like it would be the problem. Good eye, thanks.

    Does this unit have the standard 22mL fuel pump? I'm wondering if you would benefit from a fuel pump with a slightly lower volume? Also, mine made a lot of noise because there was an air bubble in the line AFTER the fuel pump. It really depends on how you route your fuel lines.

    • @NomadicVanman
      @NomadicVanman  Před 3 lety

      You should not use any other pump. That pump pumps the right amount of fuel which is .02ml per pump. And yes the air bubbles are supposed to be there, that all part of the diesel heater function. What I did was hang my pump from an elastic band at a 45 degree angle which is a must. But you do need the bubbles in there bro.

    • @NomadicVanman
      @NomadicVanman  Před 6 měsíci +1

      Well that error is usually glow plug problems. But it could be a few other things. Start with glow plug and misting screen inside the hole where the glow plug goes. Sorry for the little help. Others may have better answers. Try Facebook groups.
